Gamers and computer enthusiasts upgrade their systems more than just about anyone. Motherboards, CPUs, and graphics cards sitting around after an upgrade are the perfect starting points for a hobbyist mining machine. You’ve already paid for these components and extracted value out of them. What’s more, you know their history and how well they’ve been cared for, which isn’t necessarily the case when buying discount used parts on eBay. With sufficient leftovers, you should be able to cobble together a competent mining machine, even if it’s not terribly impressive.
Cryptocurrency traders have become accustomed to their prices violently whipsawing up and down in waves — a 30% drop in the Bitcoin price in May preceded its recent peak by about two weeks — but the current downdraft appears more sustained. Though the cryptocurrencies, rooted in a technology system known as the blockchain, have each since recovered some of their losses, they have yet to come anywhere close to their highs.
The unconventional world in which the Aether exists is infinitely more dangerous than most other parts of Minecraft itself. The world is dotted with various types of poison, as well as many different remedies. The unfortunate part is that those poisons are almost always targeted at players, rather than at their opponents, and it can be hard to stay afloat — or alive — in such a world.
Amount of memory: Finally we must look at the amount of memory of the graphics unit. Currently the minimum required is 4GB of VRAM. However, as the size of the DAG file is progressive, it is best to have a unit with 8GB of VRAM.
The lighting is quite possibly this shader pack’s greatest virtue. The stale, bleak light offered in vanilla does not give a sense of atmosphere like they do in this shaders pack. In fact, most of the light sources in vanilla seems as though the be the same. Yellow light is quite easily the most common, seen from torches, glowstone, lava, fire, and the sun. With this shader pack, color is reintroduced and reborn with each and every light source. Torchlight looks absolutely different from moonlight, just as it should. To add to this, shadows are heavily implemented as well. Something even as small as grass on the ground can cast a vibrant and deep shadow, perfectly matching up to the sun’s location of course. Daylight is crisp and bright, striking a noticeable difference from the pale light of the moon or torches while in a cave. If all of the game’s lighting features seem the same, Sonic Ether’s shaders is a vibrant way to shake that up.
I’m wondering if you can help me troubleshoot something with Claymore Miner, though. It randomly crashes on me without any error messages (even when I add pause to the end of the start.bat to check). Is this because of some instability in my hardware? I haven’t overclocked anything and this is a fairly recent installation of Windows 10. It could be that the graphics card (GTX 1070) itself was factory overclocked and I need to underclock it.

According to coinmarketcap.com website, the total crypto currency market cap in July 25, 2017 is $95 bln. Bitcoin leads the market taking almost half of that =  47.4% or $45 bln, followed by Ethereum…
For those unfamiliar with how mining works, this is basically the rate at which you will see rewards for the amount of energy your GPU puts into mining the coin. The same amount of energy (or time the GPU is running, in this case) put in a couple months ago would have given the miner far more return in terms of sheer ETH reward than today. But with a price hike, it’s possible that earnings are still high.
People I’m helping setup rigs and such are trying to go full bore right now and are willing to pay these insane prices for cards. They ask me what I think and I just say setup what you have and keep scouring for deals but don’t overpay. They won’t likely listen to that, but I also don’t want to be the person who said no and then somehow this GPU shortage causes difficulty to stall and the price skyrockets on PoS rumors or some weird super profit scenario.
He began dabbling with mining doge (the dogecoin unit of currency) on his Macbook Pro. In January 2014, the subreddit pooled together $30,000, or 26.5 million doge, to send the Jamaican bobsled team to the Sochi Winter Olympics. Two months later, it pooled together $55,000, over 100 million doge, to sponsor a driver in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Both stunts made Abouzeid realize the power of crypto.
Yes in the sense that if difficulty gets too high, the number of Ether coins you get in reward doesn’t offset the cost of electricity and/or cooling.  But usually, when that happens, people tend to stop mining or move to another coin.  Once that happens, difficulty drops down and Ethereum becomes profitable again to mine.
An at-home mining setup certainly does not guarantee immediate or easy wealth. Many fledgling cryptocurrencies have yet to take off and may never see the gains that have made Bitcoin especially newsworthy in recent weeks. Nonetheless, fans of the digital currency industry see the increase in interest as a great sign that cryptocurrencies of all kinds are gradually making their way into the public consciousness. Further, the more independent mining operations exist, the greater the degree of decentralization, and that is typically a founding principle for any of these currencies.

Clearly Litecoin miners are coming online, and they’re coming online en masse. Many of these are undoubtedly Bitcoin miners switching over now that GPUs are no longer cost effective, but some of these systems are probably driven by new miners.
High Jerry nice vid! Do you think a top of the range AMD graphics card from 3 years ago would still be good to mine with today? I did a tiny bit of mining back then but since then the graphics card has hardly been used.
Ether er som et kjøretøy for å bevege seg rundt på Ethereum-plattformen, og er etterspurt av de fleste utviklere som ønsker å utvikle og drive applikasjoner i Ethereum. You’d need to look those numbers up. I’m only familiar with the 4GB model. The 2GB is probably significantly slower at solving crypto compared to the 4GB. It’s not so big that you shouldn’t be mining, but it is big enough to throw off your power cost calculations.
But if don’t want to build a mining rig and just want to mine ethereum with single GPU I will suggest you to go with  AMD Radeon R9 295X2, as it is the most powerful mining hardware available in the market.
However, the Titan V’s massive price tag both puts it out of reach for the average home miner, but it ensures that it’ll take a very long time to pay for itself. It’s likely that the lower-priced, stripped-down gaming versions of the Titan V will be unveiled in 2018. One of these cards may prove to be the ultimate bang-for-the-buck in Ethereum mining power.
Then again that is not always the top concern. One consideration is if you run a miner in a cold climate, then heat effiency can become the dominating factor. The reason being there is 0 cost to run a miner in a cold climate as it simply replaces the energy you put into a heater and it is as effective as a heater at heating your house. So as long as the amount of heat you produce is not in excess of what you need to keep your house heated, then there are 0$ electrical costs to run it. Once you pass this point then your profit margin diminishes as you will produce more heat than what is needed to heat the house (in other words you will open a window to help cool the house a little). Therefore Hash rate to heat output (equivalent to hash rate to energy consumed) would be more important than the initial price for the hardware.
One of three things is going on here, either the person really does not know what they are talking about (e.g. hashrates for RX 400 & 500 series, the R9 only coming in 4gb, etc), or they are advertising for Nvidia, or they are attempting to get a sell off for AMD cards. I don’t mind because I have been able to get some good prices on AMD cards lately with one guy even saying that he was selling cards he just purchased brand new in December because their technology was becoming obsolete. Probably read this article and took it… Read more »
Regardless, I’m going to pick up where Eric left off. With a stack of graphics cards at hand, I am ready to go down the mineshaft. Will this be a fool’s errand, or is there still gold to be found? Let’s find out.
On the other hand, Ethereum’s smart contract technology makes corporations very interested in its real world applications. For example, a new coalition by the name of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) has sprung up with the explicit objective of facilitating and fostering the growth of the Ether.
As mentioned above due to the entirely new market we are in.. It was pretty much necessary for Ethereum to change the code to prevent anymore damage, but in the future when the Ethereum platform is used by a huge part of the global community I would not feel the same about a hard fork. Regardless the issue!
I wouldn’t burden a laptop with the kind of thermal overhead that mining causes. It’s just way too much wear and tear for a mobile device with a very low thermal envelope. But an external GPU using a USB interface? I’ve not heard of this and know nothing about it.
