Once you have the CPU actually seated and installed properly on the motherboard, you need to connect the CPU fan to the motherboard. You should see a three-pin connector that is likely labeled something like “CPU fan”. Then, you should use an 2×4-pin cable to connect your CPU to the power supply. Most likely the cable (and the GPU) will be labeled CPU. The port that you want to connect to your power cable is going to liekyl be a 4-pin port located somewhere on the motherboard near the CPU.
Depends on how you define worst. This is meant to be an ethereum rig, which means it gets about a year of mining before it wont serve that purpose anymore. Therefore, as the post stated it was build for a dual purpose 1) to suite my needs work 2) To pay for itself so I basically get free hardware out of it that is top of the line for high throughput parallel process. Based on those criteria it is in fact the best choice, though I understand it might be a very poor choice if you goal is to be a long term cryptominer beyond ethereum and in to the future. Not me however/
As for the bug thanks for pointing that at. Seems you are correct that there have been small gains in difficulty since the project started. However, as to be expected you can also see that the difficulty increases in correlation to the price in ethereum. If the price goes up more people mine, when it goes down many people stop mining, just as expected. So in the end it is still a moot point. If the difficulty at the end of the year would be double what it is now, but the value of ethereum also double, than the ROI remains unchanged.
If you use the 160 XT, it can work with a mismatched adapter. You can use any wattage adapter, provided it exceeds the wattage consumption of your entire computer while mining. But because your power consumption goes up dramatically when mining, you might want to go with the 160-watt adapter.
exactly without people saying whats happening how would they know what to look at? whether they are complaining or not it still helps the dev’s know somethings wrong. atm I found using the other shader packs works for the time being but I’m hoping Sues gets updated as it looks nicer imo on my system, but the other packs look pretty good too though the one i like most has a tiny issue of solid stone blocks sometimes waving like leaves with is more funny then anything. but it works for now.
Sidenote: If mining isn’t your thing, and you are just interested in purchasing some cryptocurrency as part of your investment portfolio, I personally use and recommend Coinbase. I would also recommend keeping your coins safe using the Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. This hardware wallet supports all the major cryptos including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Ark, Expanse, ubiq, Pivx, Vertcoin and Viacoin. Did I miss any?
I would stay away from closed source programs as there is always a slight chance of compromising your systems, and it is not worth it compromising your whole network/computer for some extra hashrate or convenience. But I’m one paranoid BokkyPooBah. – BokkyPooBah Apr 29 ’16 at 15:05
The difficulty is rapidly doubling, so in a year (2019) your 14 hash rate(Can be as low as 11) on your $1500 non over gouged S9 (or $2500-$3000 gouged) is going in effect has the same as 7 in what’s it worth to you. Increases of 10% a month or so. At btc current prices, and current electrical prices (using avg of .10) , you will cease to pay for electricity in a yrs time taking the complexity of the work it’s doing rising at that rate. Add on top of that the fact it’s a machine, running 24/7,you’ve really… Read more »
I get to page (4) in the tips it says that I do not require forge but then in the instructions it says the first thing it tells me is I need to download forge? even though previously it said there was two options and I didn’t have to, I think what ever no biggy I’ll download forge so I click the link it takes me to another page (5)
All I see when I turn shaders on is pitch black, with 7 diff images of screen, each one getting smaller and smaller, and blurier, and blurier, and no, Im not holusinating, but i can see all guis just fine(pause menu, inventory, f3, and the little plus sign in middle of screen) plz help this is best shaders version out there
Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum, announced earlier this year that the Ethereum network is going to switch from a proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake framework to confirm transactions. With a proof-of-stake system, holders of Ethereum stake coins by putting them up as collateral to validate transactions. This means that miners will soon be obsolete.
My PSUs don’t have six PCI-E connectors. I have used adapter to squeeze out 2 additional ones on each, but I made sure that every cards a least gets a main PCI-E power connector (ie. two cards 1x PCI-E from PSU and 1x through adaptor, one card 2x PCI-E from PSU. If you have different cards, try to make the stronger ones having the two original PCI-E lines). Do not mix PCI-E lines between adaptors, keep them separated, ie. PSU1 will power cards 1-3, PSU2 will power cards 4-6. I advise using those risers with USB cables, I have both the types of risers and bought twice.
Third, select the Graphics card you intend to use for mining. The calculator automatically enters the correct hashrate and power consumption. If your card isn’t listed or you’ve modified its performance, select the Custom option and enter the relevant figures manually. Note that GPU hashrates are entered in (Megahash per second aka MH/s; denoting millions of calculations per second).
Bemærk, når du henter Claymore Miner Windows kan give en advarsel, men hvis du har brugt Claymore download link kan du ignorere dette. Han er en højt respekteret udvikler, der har bygget krypto minearbejdere i mange år.
From what we have learned from mining bitcoin back in 2013 to mining ethereum now is that the GPU’s that mine Ethereum produce a lot less heat then the SHA256 equipment we used for bitcoin but we have an open rig design to allow air flow to take away heat.
I was having 20 bitcoins and what i did just read it, the platform is hashflare and you can start with 2.2$ but now it has decreased to 1.8$ which awesome so go and grab the opportunity because the contracts may get sold out or the price may increase drastically. link is down

I ask my wife to pinch me every morning when I wake up and check my bank balance. I have never seen a number that big before in MY bank account. And it just continues to grow and grow some more…this is what I’ve been waiting for my entire life. Now that I have a taste of what it really feels like to be my own boss and make tens of thousands of dollars every week, I won’t ever look back!
Hi Kannon, I stumbled across your article and found that it filled in a lot of gaps as I consider building a beginner rig for mining. Do you have any monitor recommendations, something for loading the system, maintenance, etc? I found many options but I’m not familiar with this configuration and worried about spending on something that is not compatible.
Hi Omer, Nope, Bitcoin can only be mined with any kind of profit using ASIC mining hardware. These are specialised devices which can only be used for mining specific algorithms. However, you could use those cards for GPU mineable coins. Like in my answer to Daniel just below, there are sites where you can check out the most profitable coins to mine and also places to calculate your profits. Here’s a site with suitable coins for GPU mining: https://btcgo.org/coin/mining/Gpu/ This will help you calculate your likely profits, but you’ll need to know your cards’ hashrate, power costs and some other… Read more »
