Would you recommend AMD cards for mining. I’m looking forward to buy RX 480 but I am not sure because there are many opinions for pros and cons of Nvidia vs Amd mining cards. Any help? Thanks for this article very much, very helpful to future miners.
The answer is Difficulty. By automatically adjusting the computational difficulty of solving a block, the Ethereum blockchain is able to maintain ~15 second intervals. You’ll notice Difficulty closely tracks hashrate and it too has seen exponential growth this year:
Ether er som et kjøretøy for å bevege seg rundt på Ethereum-plattformen, og er etterspurt av de fleste utviklere som ønsker å utvikle og drive applikasjoner i Ethereum. With 6 GPUs all running at full-throttle, it’s best to stick with a 1200W (or higher, but not too high) power supply. If you’re going to go with 4 GPUs (which many people do, despite the hit to profits), then a 1000W power supply will probably be fine. Again, however, it’s best to stick with the power supplies in the highest “platinum” category to maximize your profits, if you can afford it.
First and foremost, I am not an expert in digital currency by any means. I am not a financial adviser nor am I suggesting in anyway that you should or should not delve into the digital currency craze. I am simply demonstrating how you can use your Mac hardware to mine Ethereum.
Einstein remarked “God does not play dice with the Universe”. And those agreeing with him are looking for a classical, deterministic aether theory that would imply quantum-mechanical predictions as a statistical approximation, a hidden variable theory. In particular, Gerard ‘t Hooft[14] that: “We should not forget that quantum mechanics does not really describe what kind of dynamical phenomena are actually going on, but rather gives us probabilistic results. To me, it seems extremely plausible that any reasonable theory for the dynamics at the Planck scale would lead to processes that are so complicated to describe, that one should expect apparently stochastic fluctuations in any approximation theory describing the effects of all of this at much larger scales. It seems quite reasonable first to try a classical, deterministic theory for the Planck domain. One might speculate then that what we call quantum mechanics today, may be nothing else than an ingenious technique to handle this dynamics statistically.” In their paper Blasone, Jizba and Kleinert “have attempted to substantiate the recent proposal of G. ’t Hooft in which quantum theory is viewed as not a complete field theory, but is in fact an emergent phenomenon arising from a deeper level of dynamics. The underlying dynamics are taken to be classical mechanics with singular Lagrangians supplied with an appropriate information loss condition. With plausible assumptions about the actual nature of the constraint dynamics, quantum theory is shown to emerge when the classical Dirac-Bergmann algorithm for constrained dynamics is applied to the classical path integral […].”[15]
Perhaps one of the biggest threats to life and livelihood when playing in the Aether is the presence of snowballs that mysteriously get hurled from clouds in the sky. This isn’t your grandfather’s snow, and it’s going to hurt when it makes impact. In fact, it will cost health and longevity in Minecraft if any of these snowballs comes into contact with a player. The threats from above are real, and they’re consistent. Get ready to dodge, duck, and run very quickly from what appears to be a snowman scorned. Already scared? Well sure you can use a mod like the Single Player Comands to make the game a lot easier, but I don’t think you should, as it will cost you all the fun.
The Titan Xp can be overclocked to 42 MH/s, but it will consume 300 W when pushed that hard. It achieves an excellent hash rate without too much expenditure of power. Meanwhile, its top-end AMD rival, the RX Vega 64, achieves a very similar performance for about half the price.
We will have to wait and see what all changes are implemented by the company but for now, you can mine ether and earn profits by selling them which are claimed to be much profitable than the buying of ether itself as a currency.
i have a bug with the chats when i join a server or load a world some white thick and thin stripes suddenly appears i cant seem to read any chat messages or signs also it only happen when i join or load a world/server but everything works great anyone has a fix for it? also i reload the resource pack so many times it still dont work
The actual brand of the card is not the most important part (although some are better than others, like the usually-higher-quality Sapphire and MSI), rather you want to make sure you get the right AMD chip. A variety of manufacturers make cards using AMD RX 470, 480, 570, and 580, and just about any of them will work fine. Also, it’s likely a good idea to get an 8GB RAM card. A mix of these cards will work just fine — it might just take a bit of time to get the drivers working properly.
ehhh I live in a town where there is probably 0 people mining bitcoins, I have to drive 150 miles at least to buy bitcoin from a btc atm. I dont think I will have trouble finding old graphics cards. But ya thanks
Well right now its still profitable but if the price drops below 0.02ETH and difficulty will keep going up like 40-50% everymonth then most likely in 2 months it won’t be worth the hassle…. its a gamble.
FYI, I built this ETH mining calculator into a cryptocoin portfolio app I released awhile back, when I was mining on my Radeon R9 280 3GB…the link to the difficulty needs to be updated, I’ll have to revise that part sometime soon when I have time: http://www.dragonfrugal.com/coin-prices/index.php#tab4
Believe it or not, the Power Color RX 480, which is otherwise a very efficient mining card, dumps more heat into the room than any other GPU in this roundup. After a little more than 10 minutes of mining, the card reaches nearly 80°C.
A car could be uploaded to the blockchain. You, the customer, sees the car. You want to buy the car, and since it’s on the blockchain with a smart contract, you can buy it instantaneously. You pay with crypto, and the car is bought in real time. Everything is executed on the smart contract. You now own the title and all information about the car.

Power Supply Unit (PSU) –  What’s the best PSU for mining Ethereum? First, let’s start with the power supply. You might not expect it, but getting the right power supply for your mining rig can be critical to your sustainability as a miner. Indeed, it is the power supply that will determine a lot of how power-efficient your mining rig is, and therefore how much of the cryptocurrency you mine is actually profit. There are a few things to look out for with buying a power supply for your mining rig, but two of the big ones are safety/quality and power efficiency. Just about any standard power supply will work with your mining rig (so long as it has enough wattage), but there are some that are more ideal than others.
I agree- after the bombs start hitting it just isnt worth it to start unless you already have the hardware. Youre better of buying ethereum for the 20k as i take it you believe the price will keep rising or else you wouldnt look into mining?
As always agree with what you’ve written here. I definitely do think it is profitable for people who already have cards. I still think it could be profitable even at current GPU prices, but for me it is insane to buy more at this point from a risk standpoint, as I’m being ultra risk averse.
A hash algorithm turns an arbitrarily-large amount of data into a fixed-length hash. The same hash will always result from the same data, but modifying the data by even one bit will completely change the hash. Like all computer data, hashes are large numbers, and are usually written as hexadecimal. BitCoin uses the SHA-256 hash algorithm to generate verifiably “random” numbers in a way that requires a predictable amount of CPU effort. Generating a SHA-256 hash with a value less than the current target solves a block and wins you some coins.

Thanks for the comment. I believe that Nixon ended convertibility into gold — he did not end the relationship between the US’s gold reserves and the dollar. The dollar is still backed by the tremendous amount of reserves held by the US government, which is why it’s among the most stable currencies in the world.
You can go up to DDR4 quite easily with fairly standard chips and not too exotic board layouts. The nice thing about FPGA is that they scale a lot better than a bunch of graphics cards that need to sit in motherboards with CPUs and whatever. Rather than running a whole computer for a couple of graphics cards you can churn out racks and racks of low power FPGAs that can use consumer DIMM modules. It might not be economical to do so at the moment (I’ve hardly built a BOM for the thing, this is just speculation), but it’s not impossible by any stretch of the imagination.
I made this same question in Bitcointalk and a veteran told me “we will talk about another more profitable coin in 1-2 years, guaranteed…”, so we don’t need to worry about it stopping being profitable soon… I asked him/her how s/he can be so confident, and the reply was that it’s because it happened 3 times before. I said that it doesn’t mean it will be the same thing from now on just because of that. He didn’t reply me anymore…
You will need to Download Geth. This application will serve as a communication hub, linking you to the Ethereum platform while coordinating your setup (hardware and all) and reporting any new development that requires action on your part.
– Most of the people posting online do not have a wattage measuring tool at the wall. The wattage consumption reported by GPUz is not the entire card’s consumption so don’t do any ROI or breaker panel calculations with that.
GPUs are up to 200 times faster and more effective when it comes to mining Ethereum than compared to mining via CPUs. GPUs with at least 3GB of RAM are recommended for mining. In the past this used to be 2GB but as the difficulty rises you would need more powerful machine. The best GPUs for mining Etheruem currently feature 8GB of Graphic RAM.
ZCash uses Equihash as an hashing algorithm, which is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm based on the generalized birthday problem. It relies on high RAM requirements to bottleneck the generation of proofs and making ASIC development unfeasible, much like Ethereum.
Well that depends, when i started, my GPUs were not Undervolted… so i they produced a lot of heat, and i ran the FANs at 100% just to be sure…(compare that to the sound of heavy RAIN outside, very noisy!)
AMD Radeon Rx 470  –   Basically the smaller brother of the RX 480, the RX 470 is widely regarded as the best bang for your buck in Ethereum mining — as long as you can find it. After you mod it, you’ll get around 29 Mh/s, and it consumes around 140 watts.
Dan from The Diamond Minecart demonstrates the Ether Mod which allows you to create a brand new portal to take you to the dreamy Ether dimension. This mod features a ton of new things including magical weapons, holy mobs, aggressive bosses and impressive new structures. If you want a completely new Minecraft dimension, then this is the mod for you!
