So if you’re looking for a way to pay off some new gaming GPUs, you could technically mine them for a few months to pay them off, but if you’re expecting to become an Ether millionaire, and you don’t have a massive operation already–it’s probably a pipe dream.
AMD Radeon R9 295X2 is the most powerful ethereum mining GPU available in the market till date. It maximum mining power is 40 Mh/s for mining ethereum. It will cost you about $$$$. But the bad thing with this GPU is that it is mostly out of stock on Amazon and other sites, I think because of the high demand of this GPU in a mining community. SO if you are lucky enough to get it then it good if not don’t worry there are many more options you can go with.
Considering that ethereum cloud mining is a service created from an almost purely business standpoint, there is understandably, a cost associated with its appliance. Lower returns are expected because of the involvement of a third party. However, for standalone mining, a more comprehensive mining rig and configuration is needed, and this calls for a substantial upfront financial expenditure.
To minimize the disruptions to your mining and settings you may want to also disable Windows Updates.  If you feel more secure leaving them on, you can do so and just understand there are very frequent updates that sometimes reboot your system without you’re involvement and therefore stop your mining.
Also, the rigs are located in the mountain area east of Albuquerque thus it is cooler then here in the city. It is about 1000 feet higher in elevation (almost 7000 feet) then the city. I don’t know if this helps but i am going to ask my friend more about this.
You can always do what my friends did – take their miners to work and mooch of someone else’s free power. It was like they were converting someone else’s kWhs of electricity into money, sucking it right out of the wall. I think an awful lot of landlords learned about the dangers of unlimited “power included” deals in their leases when BTC came out!
4) Remote reboot and power management. There is a device called an iCoostor. It will monitor your power usage and give you the opportunity to cut power to your rig remotely. This can be important 1) to know your power costs 2) if your rig hangs you can cut power using the iCoostor and then when you restore power (all remotely) you can have the BIOS set to automatically reboot your rig. That combined with the automated startup scripts provided on this site will have you back up and mining in minutes from anywhere you have an internet connection using only your smartphone.
When you look the numbers, including power draw, the GeForce GTX 1070 cards appears to be the best performance-per-watt GPU currently on the market.  An honorable mention goes to  the AMD Radeon RX 480 and RX 580 coming in close to the profitability of the 1070 and at lower costs.
However, my single most important piece of advice is to have fun, and to not panic when you have issues, setting up a mining rig and managing it can be very fun, and also very stressful when it’s not working. If you are having problems you should definitely contact the communities I listed above, as someone else is bound to have had the same issues as you and can help you out.
Not too many things done on day five. Again, we have had to wait for comment to get dry. In the meanwhile, we have continued the work on the shelves. Note: that guy on the photos is definitely not me ?
You’d need to look those numbers up. I’m only familiar with the 4GB model. The 2GB is probably significantly slower at solving crypto compared to the 4GB. It’s not so big that you shouldn’t be mining, but it is big enough to throw off your power cost calculations.
Notice, your contract starts the day you pay but mining doesn’t start for three months, so it is really a 1.75 year contract. I hope difficulty doesn’t go up too much before it starts, if it does I in trouble.
Have a look at the quality-price ratio when choosing your video cards. Feel free to contact 2Miners support for an advice. By default you could purchase NVIDIA GTX 1060/1070 – this is a good option for beginners: there are many brands to choose from, and these cards are universal, so they work both on Ethash and Equihash algorithms. Do not combine AMD and NVIDIA GPUs on the same rig – if you choose AMD, then buy 8 AMD GPUs, if you select NVIDIA, then buy 8 NVIDIA GPUs.
This is the best mining hardware configuration that can mine the following coins / altcoins: Ethereum (ETH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Monero (XMR), PascalCoin (PASC), Decred (DCR), Expanse (EXP), Lbry Credits (LBC), Siacoin (SC), Komodo (KMD), Ubiq (UBQ), Karbowanec (KRB), Bipcoin (BIP), Orbitco (ORB), Zencash (ZEN),  Hush (HUSH) etc..
The time-tested wisdom in mining is that it’s probably best to not assume that ETH will stay at any given price in the short term. Theoretically, it could crash at any moment. If ETH had a sudden price crash, people would be dumping their GPUs all over eBay and Craigslist — meaning much lower resale value for your hardware. It’s also wise to consider that if the difficulty continues increasing and the price doesn’t see any major bumps in the coming weeks, revenues will only be thinned even more.
Just a hypothetical, but say someone had (legal) remote access to 5,000+ normal desktop computers. If he/she were to install the software on them, could it be profitable? On-board Intel graphics type machines.
Great passive revenue stream with the flexibility to maximize the investment on a daily basis. Provides the ability to tune the dial on the dashboard for various crypto currencies to mine what is most profitable at the time.
Generally, any motherboard with PCIe slots on it is suitable for mining—typically one GPU per PCIe slot. The PCIe slots don’t need to be full-length, as we can attach GPUs to 1x slots with the help of risers. With that said, there are potentially some limitations when you start to pack a large number (4+) of GPUs onto one motherboard, even if that board has enough PCIe slots to physically accommodate them. That’s why picking a suitable motherboard is probably your biggest hardware headache if you want to run as many GPUs as possible in your rig.
In order to mine you need to perform as many operations as possible in an interval of time. For ehtereum the best computing power is delivered by graphic cards with powerfull GPUs. Other coins, like bitcoins can be mined with specialized hardware calles ASIC which are a many order of magnitudes faster than the gpus.
The idea and inspiration for this article come out since after about a month ago I started to invest both in cloud mining and building my very own GPU mining rig. I decided to compare – what’s more profitable – doing all by yourself or just throwing money into cloud mining contracts.
The second day of work brought a lot of successes, as well as some failures and even few minor injuries. Everyone’s fine though; the minor inconveniences didn’t prevent us from keep doing what we were doing.
“After hearing about the cryptocurrency industry I wanted to get involved. Buying a plug & play rig from CoinMiner was the simplest and easiest way. Excellent decision as I’m making money from day 1!”
Keep in mind, more powerful doesn’t always mean “better” when it comes to mining efficiency.  This is due to the that the less amount of power your graphics card draws, the lower your electric bill will be.  It is also worth noting that the higher the hashrate of the graphics card, the more ETH will be mined.
Im leaving this review not as a slant on this site but to let you know that the calculator may need updating, Ive got 11.7TH/s and get daily payouts of 0.0021 to 0.0029 where as your calculator says 10 TH/s will give me daily pay outs of 0.003386 which is quite a big difference
Cryptocurrencies are digital assets that are sent and stored on the internet. It’s a trustless system that allows anyone to send another person money with no middle man required! Cryptocurrencies are set to be the future of money around the world, and they have many benefits over traditional money. Check out our informational videos and articles to learn more about Cryptocurrencies and how you can get started mining today!
You are more than welcome to do your own research, buy the components on your own and build the thing from zero. However, if you are short on time and want to get your own plug and play mining rig at a reasonable price, then I am here to help.
Shortly before the Christmas time I decided to experiment with cloud mining contracts and opted for Bitcoin Cloud Mining contract from Hashflare.io – again the same approach – dollar cost averaging, and investing small once per month in additional hashing power.
This local law shall impose a moratorium on applications or proceedings, or the issuance of approvals or permits for commercial cryptocurrency mining operations in the City of Plattsburgh. The moratorium imposed by this local law shall be in effect for a period of  eighteen  months from the effective date of this local law.
Think of it from a business standpoint. How many times can you invest in a business and expect a return on your investment in even a year? Two years? Currently even at overinflated GPU prices you might see a return in ~6 months. In the mining community that seems like an insane amount of time. Crypto is an anomaly though. In business that’s a super win. Even if the timeline goes out to 8 months and then you start profiting it’s still considered a good investment. As good as just investing in ETH? Likely not. But we’ve discussed risk aversion and mining before.
In a blockchain, transactions are added in a block, then the block is closed and added in the chain. After that a new block is open. In order to maintain the consistency over the network, only one miner can close a block in a specified moment. That miner is the one which solves first the hash problem and finds the winning solution. Then it closes the block and signs all transactions, getting the block reward along with all transaction fees.
The same thing applies to Ethereum. The only way to utilize Ethereum is with the product from mining. However, mining Ethereum means more than increasing the volume of Ether in circulation. It is also necessary for securing the Ethereum network as it creates, verifies, publishes, and propagates blocks in the blockchain.
Solo Mining – Solo mining means its you against the rest. If your hash is correct you win the block reward. But with a rig of 60 MH/s and a network hashing power of 1.2 GH you aren’t going to get ether very often. The other issue is you have to download the blockchain for yourself. See our guide here on how to solo mine ethereum.
Traditionally, when buying a car, you go to the dealership. Once there, you have to negotiate a price. Then you have to go to the bank and have a guaranteed check or something of that sort drafted. After that you have to go back to the dealership with this guaranteed check.
Ether is necessary if you want to operate on the decentralized platform Ethereum. Payments are done in Ether to execute operations on Ethereum network. The currency avoids spam programs and keeps the network healthy.
Now, for the ease of this experiment – let’s compare Ethereum mining – DIY and Cloud contract from Hashflare.io. Also, I will assume you already have basic components – like motherboard, pc risers, processor and so on – and the one and only investment you are concerned is – adding a new graphics card.
