Now make 6 “New” profiles and name them gpu1, gpu2… gpu6 and each profile will represent the GPU it’s attached to, so for example, we are using the “-p1” GPU to the profile “gpu1” and so on. You need to make so many profiles as you have mining GPU’s (all GPU’s except the Integrated one)
Motherboard – ASRock H170 Pro4/D3 Intel H170 S1151/4xDDR3/2xPCIEx16/HDMI/DVI/USB3.0/ATX Motherboard. $145. This motherboard has 2x PCIe 3.0×16 and 3x PCIe 3.0×1, takes socket 1151 Intel 6th generation CPU and dual Channel DDR3/DDR3L 1866(OC) RAM. This motherboard only has 2 PCIe 3.0 x 16 slots which are too close together, so choose a better motherboard if you can.
ethminer communicates with geth on port 8545 (the default RPC port in geth). You can change this by giving the –rpcport option to geth. Ethminer will find get on any port. Note that you need to set the CORS header with –rpccorsdomain localhost. You can also set port on ethminer with -F http://127.0.0.1:3301. Setting the ports is necessary if you want several instances mining on the same computer, although this is somewhat pointless. If you are testing on a private cluster, we recommend you use CPU mining instead.
AMD offers special mining-specific “blockchain compute” drivers that deliver considerably more performance than their standard drivers, so that’s what we’ll be using. If the computer that you’re installing to will not be a dedicated mining rig (eg: you plan to also play games on it, etc), you may prefer to use the latest available standard driver.
For the purposes of this guide, we will focus on the interactive console, a JavaScript environment. The history of the console is persisted between sessions, providing for a powerful and flexible way of using the client. You can navigate your command history by using the up and down arrow keys, like a standard command line. To get started Type the code below on your terminal
Step 3: After you open and install the setup, you’ll be presented with the option to start smart mining. MinerGate automatically detects your equipment and chooses the most profitable cryptocurrency to mine according to your hardware, market price and difficulty. If you want to mine Ethereum, ignore this option and move straight to Miner.

I doubt he could even notice! Why? Well I left a debug feature for people just like you this feature shows Claymore’s wallets and show them in your miner console. So you can check his wallets and see for yourself how many bitcoins he make daily.
Thanks for your post. Wondering if mining is still profitable? I’ve been thinking of doing it with a 6-12 GPU system. I’ve been skeptic due to increasing difficulty in mining and with Ether moving to PoS
Setup was simple enough, we simply found a pool to join and what miner we would be using.  We decided to go with the Ethermine pool but finding a miner was a bit trickier.  We first tried Genoils Miner but never was able to get the stratum server connected so we moved on to Claymores Miner and that one took off like a demon, so we stayed there.  Claymores Miner allowed us to use Radeon cards as well as Pascal based GeForce cards without spending hours in configurations.
Pro-tips: check out the following GPU’s: AMD Rx 470/480 Rx 570/580, AMD R9 range, HD 7990 / 7950 (if used cards are available, try to get them from a gamer instead of a miner, with a warranty if possible).  For Nvidia, look at the 1060 / 1070 / 1080 series cards.  As with everything, do your own due diligence to evaluate GPU’s based on their hashrate, power requirements, availability and price.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 580 are solid performing cards. When the AMD Radeon RX 480 first came out it the prices started at $199 and for that you get around 24 MH/s of performance ether mining in stock form, but you can easily get that up to 25-27 MH/s if you wanted to mod the BIOS and dial the cards in. You can reduce the power usage in AMD Wattman to get the power draw on these cards well below the 150W TDP rating. The new AMD Radeon RX 580 uses more power and costs more than the Radeon RX 480, but it gets higher performance and many are able to get 29 MH/s per card at around 135 Watts of power when you do all the widely known power adjustments. No wonder the AMD Radeon RX 580/570 cards are all sold out.
Overclocking on a 370 is minimal, there’s only 100MHz headroom from stock (1400) to max (1500), core clock can’t reliably be o/c’d more than 1150MHz from factory (950-1060). That’s it. This is still a very good rate for the power and price, though, at least with the single 6-pin models (some XFX and maybe others have 2 boost cables).
Ethereum is an open blockchain platform similar to Bitcoin but with additional in-built flexibilities. With Ethereum, the blockchain can be considered to be intelligent thanks to the Ethereum Virtual Machine and Smart Contracts. Whereas with Bitcoin it’s a glorified ledger.
Click on the ‘View’ menu to deselect other cryptocurrencies, until only ETH remains. MinerGate will notify you that it’s loading a DAG (Dagger Hashimoto) file. This is around 1GB in size and represents the proof of work algorithms necessary to mine Ethereum data blocks. If you want to understand this further, see the Ethereum Github page for more information.
You may have to ensure you have the correct virtual memory enabled (minimum 16GB). To do this, search for system in the start menu. Open system and on the left hand side click ‘Advanced System Settings.’ Go under the advanced tab, under performance settings, and advanced again. Then click ‘Change’ under virtual memory. Uncheck the box that states to ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’ and then input a custom size of 16384 (or whatever is the maximum allowable value) into the Initial and Maximum size fields. This will prevent you from having any errors with virtual memory.

1) I’m running ethOS at the moment, but I’m fairly certain I used that driver, however, I’ll check at a later date. I will update the article to mention that you’ll need to find out the best driver for you as you’re correct it does vary from GPU to GPU.

Ever since I’m building new cryptocurrency mining rigs I’m including SSD rather than HDD. The reason is SSD is fast and by using SSD would increase the transfer speed and decrease the time. Also, other things that I think about SSD are – They use less power consuming and also if you are starting up your mining rig the boot time is reduced and soon you will be mining.
