The real challenge comes with keeping all of this cool. As once you go beyond 2 or 3 video cards you will have to run the pc out of a case. But that isn’t a concern at first, a few case fans will keep air moving nicely.

Ethereum uses a different hashing algorithm to Bitcoin, which makes it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Ethereum’s algorithm is known as Ethash. It’s a memory-hard algorithm; meaning it’s designed to resist the development of Ethereum-mining ASICs. Instead, Ethash is deliberately best-suited to GPU-mining.
To others who are reading this comment, this tutorial is for a single slot miner. A single slot miner has an overall lower footprint, both in terms of power draw and overall cost, compared to a multi-GPU miner. They are cost-effective only for those who want to get their feet wet since the cost of entry is fairly low.
But what do miners get in return for doing all the heavy lifting?  Ether reward coins.  The catch is that mining tends to require more and more power over time, as more people invest in more powerful hardware.  This is called mining difficulty and increases exponentially with the number of people mining and competing for their Ether reward.
In the early days of GPU mining, AMD cards were the clear winners, in terms of performance. More recent Nvidia cards (such as the Titan range) match or even exceed the performance of AMD cards. Mining performance for certain coins may be better or worse, depending on the manufacturer.

But this shortchanges the additional value of mining Ether. It is also absolutely required for securing the Ethereum network as it creates, verifies, publishes, and propagates blocks in the blockchain.

Hi, I am thinking about builiding a PC for deep learning and thinking that maybe I could mine ether with it also. How much ether could I mine with one NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and is it ever worth to mine it with this setup? Also does it matter what kind of CPU i use?
The power supply is extremely important—don’t skimp on it! A good, efficient PSU will keep your electricity costs to a minimum and more than pay for itself over the long run. Seasonic, EVGA, and Corsair are all generally top brand choices. The 1200W unit that I’ve linked may seem like overkill, but power supplies are most efficient when they’re not running near their rated maximum load. A 6 GPU rig will draw about 750 watts (assuming 6x RX 570 cards, properly optimized), which means a 1200W PSU will have sufficient headroom to perform efficiently.
Findind a solution is practically running brute force algorithm. The time to find a solution is hard to tell. In the same time blocks are having a predefined maximum size and by convention a blockchain needs to have an averate time interval at which blocks are closed.
