GPUs are up to 200 times faster and more effective when it comes to mining Ethereum than compared to mining via CPUs. GPUs with at least 3GB of RAM are recommended for mining. In the past this used to be 2GB but as the difficulty rises you would need more powerful machine. The best GPUs for mining Etheruem currently feature 8GB of Graphic RAM.
Keep in mind, more powerful doesn’t always mean “better” when it comes to mining efficiency.  This is due to the fact that the less amount of power your graphics card draws, the lower your electric bill will be.  It is also worth noting that the higher the hashrate of the graphics card, the more ETH will be mined.
I really like Genesis Mining, they have excellent customer service and they are always thinking of new innovative things for their customers. I recently signed up for the new x11 mining and so far it seems really good. Thank you!
Understand, however, that the operative word is bet. In the two years I’ve been mining, I’ve gone through three pools. One became too small to sustain itself, one was DDOS’d to death, and 50BTC technically claims to still be operating, but its account system has been screwed up for nearly two months and the support staff no longer answer emails. Its FAQ on the attack hasn’t been updated in weeks. All withdrawals are frozen.
Lots of articles on how to do this. There’s even a Linux distro specifically for Ether mining. EthOS. Not free but painless to set up. There’s also free ones. C’mon guys, you can’t have everything spoon fed to you.
Depending what you do, more VRAM will improve your performance. The present difference between a 4-gig and 8-gig version of the same card can be up to 5 MH/s. MH/s stands for millions of hashes per second, the speed of the hardware solving mathematical algorithms to get Ethereum.
-Note Contract will not begin until April 30th, in an environment in which network hashrate has doubled in the past 3 months, this contract faces the potential to return less than the principal investment
If you’re not already handy with computers, Linux/Windows scripting and command line, hardware troubleshooting, know how ethereum works, and can wait 2+ months to get the possibility of breaking even on your hardware purchase, you’ll get more for your money and time by focusing on learning how cryptocurrencies and trading work and perhaps invest some money (but only as much as you are willing to lose) and start trading it.
Mining Ether takes up a lot of electricity, and you are right in being concerned about On the plus side, though, if mining practices are carried out efficiently more income is generated through the sale of Ether. You will need your Ethereum Mining calculators for the process.
Crypto is a gamble, nothing more, nothing less. ETH looks good now, but what if there’s another DAO-type crisis, confidence is lost in the platform, and ETH drops to $5? What if the value goes up, Gav’s grandmother is mining ETH instead of watching the Home Shopping Network, and difficulty triples in a month? What if VB takes a mega ‘shroom trip one weekend and decides PoS is going to be moved up to the Metro network upgrade in October/November?
I see a lot of people are having this same problem. I believe that something must have changed in the new version of Claymore which is causing this error. Can you perhaps install an older version of Claymore?
Flickr Hive Mind is a data mining tool for the Flickr photography database, allowing search by: tags(keywords); Flickr photography groups; Flickr users, their contacts, and favorites; free text; the Flickr Explore algorithm for interestingness. Flickr Hive Mind can also be an effective tool to identify photography with licenses that allow non-commercial (and sometimes) commercial use. Inspired by (and thanks to) Flickr Leech. Dedicated to Anna and her Flickritis. Many thanks to Lokesh Dhakar for his lightbox2 image viewer. If you find your login does not work, perhaps your browser has disabled the cookies that I use to track if you are logged in or not. Try telling your browser to accept them. Flickr Hive Mind stores no personal information nor photos, but some general time and IP address information ends up in my apache server logs. For additional details see the privacy policy. Any revenue generated through advertisement on this site is used only to cover the cost of keeping the site online, beyond that Fiveprime donates to charitable organizations (also, there are no ads on User pages). The following component lists might be used to help in building a new rig. To minimize shipping costs, components from the same supplier were preferred over compenents from the least expensive source.
The rise of Scrypt ASICs – Dogecoin was initially made using the “Scrypt” algorithm which meant that it couldn’t be mined using the specialised hardware ASIC chips that had been designed to more efficiently mine Bitcoin. However this situation didn’t last very long, and about halfway through 2014, ASICs that could mine Scrypt-based coins started to become widespread. This meant that CPU and GPU miners had to compete against the much more energy efficient ASIC miners.
Step 11: Type “cd /” into the newly opened command prompt which should look like this “C:\users\username>cd /” and then press enter. You should now see “C:\>”, You have just used the “cd” command or “change directory” command to make command prompt look at the C:/ drive – not your user file.
Shark Mining is a well-regarded company that makes some excellent pre-built mining rigs. Its Shark Mini is a compact rig that comes with four GPUs. The base model comes with GTX 1070 GPUs, but your can configure it to have a 1070 Ti GPU, which could net you an extra 10% profit, and you can also add a touchscreen display for keeping an eye on the rig. Shark Mining estimates a profit of $600 a month if you mine ZCash or Bitcoin, and up to $400 a month with Ethereum, though of course that could change.
Eobot, operational since 2013 and located in the United States, is a real-time exchange allowing trading between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, STEEM, Dogecoin, Ripple If you are looking for the Best Cpu Mining Software. They you have come to the right place. This GUI CPU Miner Software will make it Dead Simple for you to get some
A: As long as your system meets the general requirements and has at least one GPU with at least 3GB of RAM, you can mine Ethereum.  Some Gaming laptops do have high end cards, but with the considerable heat generated from mining there could be other impacts to your laptop so it’s best to go with a desktop build.  Virtualized environments that you can rent usually do not have enough powerful dedicated GPU in them, or are simply not profitable if they do.  There are currently no ASICs for Ethereum (as it is designed to be an “ASIC Resistant” Proof Of Work hashing algorithim, so if you see ads for one – RUN.  ASIC’s are still profitable for mining some coins (Bitcoin, Dash and Litecoin), but for home built Mining Rigs, Ethereum and other altcoins are still profitable to mine (whereas Bitcoin is not profitable on a home pc – even with many powerful GPU’s do the Bitcoin ASIC technology available).
Now that you have all the information you need to start mining Ethereum, the sky is the limit on what type and how many rigs you have.  Do you want to stick being a beginner or do you want to become a farmer? ?  Building mining rigs are computer nerd’s version of building a car.  It is extremely satisfying and as we know rewarding. Make sure wherever you plan on running the mining rig to have enough air flow.  GPUs running at 100% 24/7 generate a ton of heat!
First time when I heard this web site, I did not believe mining performance. But day by day they return much. Until now I think they did outstading performance. So I am satisfied. ps. I bought 2 year Zcash mining product not 1 year. Please check my order and let me know. Thanks
Very easy to setup. Hash rates and returns are quite decent for the money considering you don’t need to worry about buying the hardware, setting it up, or paying for power. Setting up a mining rig is annoying, loud and hot! This is much nicer =)
You may mix unpowered and powered risers, but the total number of unpowered risers should not exceed two (this includes GPUs plugged directly into the motherboard)! Motherboards are generally not designed to deliver more than 150 watts of total power through the PCIe bus, so two GPUs on unpowered risers is the safe maximum (2 x 75 watts).
Hi Bhavesh, OK, this seems to be a fairly common error but it’s beyond my capabilities to diagnose precisely from that log. I’ve seen a variety of solutions to this issue proposed on various forums: https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/18806/couldnt-connect-to-node/23153#23153 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/2426 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/wiki#unable-to-find-peers I suggest starting with the simple solutions first before trying the more advanced stuff. So if using Windows, start things up in Administrator mode. Then try starting Geth manually with the –nat=none flag. Then try starting from the command line as someone suggested. You can also backup your data directory, rename / move it, and let the wallet resync itself… From there,… Read more »
This one has become stable and is cranking out about $200-220/mo with minimal work. I have been monitoring it just to prove to myself that it is still working, but it has had no issue since the install of EthOS. Nanopool will also send you a notification email if your machine goes down, so you really don’t have to actively monitor it.
Some contracts only exist for a certain amount of time. They might exist for three months yet have a payback period of over a year. This way you will never get your money back. If our payback period says never, it means that you will never get your money back as the fee exceeds the revenue the contract generates per day, or the payback period is longer than the duration of the contract.
Noob here. Thanks for the tutorial, it was great! I built my first rig but have yet to power it up so ce i am very concerned with the way my risers would be powered after all the SATA burning we see on the internet.
When engaging in any type of cryptocurrency mining there are risks, but profitability is possible if you make the right choices. In this article, we’ve given you some pointers on how to decide which way to go.
