While the GTX 1070 sits atop our list of the best mining GPUs, its follow up, the GTX 1070 Ti, is another fantastic mining graphics card, and with a number of power upgrades, such as a higher base clock, the 1070 Ti does a very good job. However, there are a few reasons why it’s listed lower than its older sibling. For a start, as it’s newer it costs more than the 1070, which will dent your profits from mining. It also has a higher power consumption, which makes it more costly to run. Finally, there have been incidents of a bug in the driver software which makes this GPU hash lower than expected, but an upcoming fix should sort that. If you’re prepared to tweak a few settings, however, this is an excellent mining GPU.
The bad news is that if you want maximum performance out of your rig, you’ll probably eventually want to flash your GPU BIOS under either operating system, but we’ll get into that in part 4 of this guide. But if you already know that overwriting your GPU BIOS with a custom replacement is outside of your comfort zone, then sticking with Windows will at least allow you to undervolt.

Requiring a tremendous amount of computer resources and quite a bit of processing power to solve challenging math problems to produce more impactful and more secure encryption protocols (amongst so many other things), blockchain essentially allows you to earn crypto currency by providing your computer resources to be used by the peer distributed network.
Power Supply: Your system is going to be running 24/7 and using close to 1000 Watts of power non-stop,  so you’ll want to drop some coin on a good model. We highly suggest an 80 PLUS Platinum rated power supply that is 1200W or greater. We’ve used the Enermax Platimax 1350W ($239.99 shipped) with good success. If you plan on undervolting the GPU and reducing the power consumption you should be able to get away with a 1,000 Watt power supply. The EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 is solid 80 PLUS platinum model for $213.72 shipped or you can go with a lower cost Corsair RM1000x that is 80 PLUS gold certified for $159.99 shipped. Depending on the model you get and the model of video card that you are running you might need to get some SATA to 8-pin PCIe power adapters to connect all the video cards. If you plan on running two power supplies on one system you might want to pick up a dual power supply connector to power up and shut down both supplies like normal.
Third, select the Graphics card you intend to use for mining. The calculator automatically enters the correct hashrate and power consumption. If your card isn’t listed or you’ve modified its performance, select the Custom option and enter the relevant figures manually. Note that GPU hashrates are entered in (Megahash per second aka MH/s; denoting millions of calculations per second).
Step 15 and 16 possible error: If you are not patient is “JSON-RPC problem. Probably couldn’t connect. Retrying in 1…” As you can see in the screenshot bellow this happens when you don’t have the blockchain synced yet.
While the ROI – Return on Investment can go past a year for the Ethereum mining GPUs that have been mentioned above, it can be reduced if you opt to use more than one GPU. You will not get much by using just one video card to mine, and so deciding to purchase more than one GPU will be the best thing to do. But before you fully venture into that, you should also make yourself aware of the profit your mining rig will bring as well as the amount of money that you will spend on the energy.
Installed Mine.bat file in main folder and at startup. However, the last line, C:\windows\system32>ethdcrminer64.exe -epool…. , will not execute. States this file is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program of batch file. Why is this ethdcrminer64.exe file not found? Seems to be pointing to windows\System32 folder. Stuck in Mobile with the Memphis Blues again.
That’s about what I made mining with it overall before the limit approached zero. Maybe twice what I paid *if you count cash dollar values only (keeping the BTC I spent would have obviously been a much better deal, if I held them til today!)
The reason why you can’t use an ASIC miner for Ethereum hashing is because the person who designed Ethereum, Vitalik Buterin, specifically designed Ethereum to be more decentralized than Bitcoin. He thought this was an innate flaw with the grandfather Cryptocurrency. Investors with more capital could afford better ASIC miners and thus make more money.
Yes, GTX 1070 or GTX 1070Ti are the best cards that you can buy. They can really mine Ethereum as well as Zcash at a good output. Talking about the power it might use somewhere in between 180W to 200W per GPU.
IMPORTANT: You MUST have the latest motherboard bios installed. (you can check your motherboard bios update history, to see what was changed from your bios version till the latest available one. If there are no major changes, then you can skip this step.(Chipset, PCI-E, GPU support changes are the most important ones and you NEED to upgrade your Motherboard BIOS if they came out).
I know Panda is packaged GPU’s but I’m not sure OP is aware enough of ethash’s reliance on commodity memory architecture and how that precludes ‘ASIC’ (Application Specific Integrated Circuit, rather than ‘black box with fans’) from being developed. So I didn’t want to get too technical.
If you’ve been thinking about getting into the world of mining for Ethereum you’ll want to know exactly how to get started and how to improve the overall efficiency of this process you’ll learn that and more in this quick guide!
I plan, with my little organisation, to focus on mining (I prefer transaction processing). And indeed I have expenses to cover. Planning ahead at least one full size cabinet just for Ethereum should be taken seriously, at least in respect to the money invested in.
For Windows, the Genoil miner has proven to be the most effective, and I’ll show you how to set this up. However, if you’re interested in other alt-coins, then you should also consider looking at Claymore miner.
A Radeon RX 470 has a modest hash rate of 24.0MH/s. Its power cost per day is exactly the same as the Radeon RX 480 at $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $9.13, giving it a return per day of $1.15 and a return per year of $418.16. Radeon RX 470 will cost you $219.
Nevertheless, when a designer makes claims regarding hash rates at certain clock frequencies, one can determine if A. there is a straightforward calculation and B. if the designer is being imprecise (rounding values) or even intentionally dishonest, as the ratio between clock cycles and hash rate should remain the same.
Nvidia GPU’s:  To get the latest Nvidia GeForce drivers go to https://www.geforce.com/drivers and then enter in your card info and click “Start Search” and then download the current version from the results.
Step 7: You need to tell your Geth Program to start communicating with the rest of the Ethereum network. You do this by typing in “geth –rpc” – this should look like “C:\>geth –rpc” (on the latest version you should try: geth –rpc –fast –cache=1024) Press enter and the screen should start downloading the blockchain for Ethereum – at this point you are synchronising with the rest of the Ethereum network. This can take a while depending on your internet speed and the current size of the blockchain, anywhere between 20 min and multiple hours. Sometimes your firewall can block this process – just click allow access. Keep this cmd open, you will need this to run in the background in order to be able to mine. Also make sure you start mining only after your blockchain is synchronised, not before. Due to The DAO hard fork you will have to specify if you want to mine on the hard fork chain or on the chain without the hard fork. To mine Ethereum (ETH) use geth –rpc –support-dao-fork in order to mine Ethereum Classic (ETC) use: geth –rpc –oppose-dao-fork
I am kevin and i mine some crypto coins a year ago. After one year coin’s price goes high and now i want to withdrawal some monero to my wallet. But when i try to login to my minergate account, its asking for verification code. I want to tell you guys i didn’t activated 2 step verification on my account so unable to login. and after i contact minergate support for that issue and they replay me after 4 days and give me a link to verify my account. They send me a link which deactivate after 4 hours in midnight time.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
The initial price you pay will determine how long it takes for your card to pay for itself, based on your mining profits. This formula will pinpoint your Return on Investment (ROI): Coins earned minus electrical costs and other costs. The ROI is usually expressed in months. Prices should be considered rough indications, since they’re based on the current Amazon prices at the time of writing.
Cryptocurrency mining is a big buzz topic in technology these days. And why not? Utilizing your computer to digitally mine what seems like free money only begs the question, “where do I sign up?” Your machine will actually be “mining” or processing transactions for a decentralized currency, the hottest variant of which is called Ethereum.  Poised to overtake the industry bellwether Bitcoin, Ethereum has experienced explosive growth with roughly a $35 billion dollar market cap currently.
