Ethereum is an open software platform based on the blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications. The advantage of Ethereum over Bitcoin, is that it can support many different types of decentralized applications.
The choice of the PSU depends on the overall TDP of your GPUs plus the CPU/RAM/HDD. Moreover, keep in mind that the PSU efficiency, whatever its rating (80Plus Bronze, Gold, Silver or Platinum), is a function of the load. There are two strategies : either investing in a good branded PSU with a several-year warranty, or combining less powerful PSUs with a Dual PSU Adapter. You can make the choice of investing for durability or saving for the sake of your ROI (Return On Investment).
I highly recommend purchasing coins with the exchange Binance or Coinbase (if you just want Ethereum). Binance has by far the most variety of tokens to invest in, Coinbase has an amazing user experience and both are considered extremely secure. For Windows, the Genoil miner has proven to be the most effective, and I’ll show you how to set this up. However, if you’re interested in other alt-coins, then you should also consider looking at Claymore miner.
This software is new; need it to improve, but if they have success? Imagine that an easy way to mine!!! Just install the software open an account and start to mine. Is so easy!!!! No commands, no tree or four programs, not to open ports manually, etc.
Click on the ‘View’ menu to deselect other cryptocurrencies, until only ETH remains. MinerGate will notify you that it’s loading a DAG (Dagger Hashimoto) file. This is around 1GB in size and represents the proof of work algorithms necessary to mine Ethereum data blocks. If you want to understand this further, see the Ethereum Github page for more information.
Good morning from Q City, so i have a noobynoob question. I am very beginner and now I mining on 3 PC. Two of them mine ethereum using 470×2 and 480×2 – I`m using dwarfpool and Claymore`s Dual miner and everything is okay when i check my wallet raits the balance is growing like beautiful garden with hundreds of mexicans working on it, !!BUT!! on my third PC I am using single msi gtx1080 gaming X to mine some zec using dwarfpool and nheqminer5c it working on 400 sol/s but my balanace is still 0.0000 after 10 hours of mine. So what the problem, or my mistake>>??? Im using wallet creating on HitBTC, is it okay>>>>?? HELP PLZ!!
First, the total amount of Ether available to mine is currently capped at 18 million per year. If you do the math, that means that no more than 49,315 Ether can be mined per day (about one every 15 to 17 seconds). In practice, however, around 30,000 new Ether total for all the miners worldwide represents a pretty good day of mining. That represents more than $8.9 million per day at today’s prices.
If everything works correctly, you should see output that recognizes your graphics cards, and then starts chugging away. You should also see your amount of hashes processed per second be non-zero (and a high number, at that). If you see both of those things, you’re golden. If not, I recommend checking the GPU mining forum as other people have likely ran into similar if not the same issues.
AsicMiner Market team has been building and selling mining rigs, creating custom firmware for ASIC miners (padrino Jupiter firmware, padrino Titan firmware), and consulting on large GPU and ASIC deployments since 2011, when Bitcoin was just starting to gain popularity. We will be around for the future and are happy to help with projects of any size.
I think the approach is wrong. It is based on competition instead of cooperation. The ones with the most hash power, most coins, or most memory gains more. Whatever the new requirement is, miners will adapt and change to gain advantage.
Thanks for your post. Wondering if mining is still profitable? I’ve been thinking of doing it with a 6-12 GPU system. I’ve been skeptic due to increasing difficulty in mining and with Ether moving to PoS
The ASIC chip of choice determines, in large part, the cost and efficiency of a given miner, as ASIC development and manufacture are very expensive processes, and the ASIC chips themselves are often the components that require the most power on a Bitcoin miner.
As other have said, no direct impact. But some altcoins are popular for dual mining with ethereum. If those coins go to ASIC, it will force miners to recalculate what makes for a profitable mining operation.
Extra Fans. Especially if you have multiple rigs, then make sure you attach some additional fans to your case/ housing. Some people also use normal desk fans or in some cases high-power industrial fans. Check out my copper tube mining rig, to get some creative ideas about how to create a useful but attractive mining rig at the same time!
First, head over to Etherscan’s Mining Calculator, which provides up-to-date figures for the current price, block time and network hashrate (as measured in Gigahash per second aka GH/s; denoting billions of calculations per second):
SMART PLUG – If the rig is frozen and cannot be accessed with remote desktop, then we need to restart it. I use smart plugs for that. You can monitor your power draw and restart your rigs with it (by switching power off and back on)
Difficulty is likely to continue its established rising trend (and could spike on the release of more efficient GPUs) and price is extremely unpredictable (and may crash if the market dislikes Ethereum’s solution to its on-going DAO crisis). Further, Ethereum is scheduled to switch to a Proof of Stake model at some unspecified date, meaning it will no longer be mineable.
Afterburner (or whatever utility you choose) can also be used to raise the core and memory clocks on the card. This will increase your hashrate, but also the heat produced and card temperature so make sure you have adequate cooling. Always increase overlock in reasonable increments like 100MHz to make sure your rig stays stable.
During the  mining of ethereum, you will only be using memory of the GPU, that means that the higher quality of the memory is, the better hashrate you can get. While testing all of the memory types, I’ve found out that Samsung and Hynix are a little bit better than Elpida and Micron, but the difference is very subtle.
