Ram isn’t very important for your mining rig so we recommend only getting 4gb or 8gb worth of memory. If you’re running Windows you might want to opt for a minimum of 8gb while linux will run on 4gb of ram.
It’s also recommended that you buy some additional PCIe to Molex (or SATA) connectors so that you can connect the risers to different rails on your PSU. Again, you can find these on Amazon, and will only cost a few dollars.
You have a chance, a small chance, if you play your cards right, to get filthy rich. For example, there was one year where $100 of litecoin was worth $30,000 over a period of JUST ONE YEAR. What you do now with your ether is up to you. You can horde it and hope (it will.. trust me it will go up so friggen much that it’s going to blow your face away) it goes up. You can sell it right away or use the extra capital for trading crypto.. the choice is yours.
That’s correct, GPU will be discouraged due to the fact that the algorithm requires a lot of memory per thread. I’m pretty sure people will find ways around, but the goal is for dagger to continue adapting.
Different cryptocurrency has different hash algorithm and requirements, but the essence of a hash is the same. If a miner be the first who compute the hash result matched the requirements against the whole network; then that winning miner will be reward with the coins! That’s exactly the goal of mining. Obviously, only using a small computing resources winning against the whole network is very difficult; that’s why the Mining Pool concept can be applied to join force to win.
You would need to flash your GPU BIOS using Windows. I have specifically not covered this in detail as it’s risky and I do not wish to take responsibility for flashed GPUs. However, there are plenty of sites out there that show you how to do it.
Note that I’m using nanopool.org as the mining pool here. It’s a fairly typical ETH pool that seems to have good reliability, but feel free to pick your own pool. Most don’t require registration, and simply payout to whatever wallet address you supply whenever a certain threshold is met (usually whenever you accumulate 1+ ETH). Assuming you stick with Nanopool, you’ll be able to check on your miner’s status by going to this URL after you start mining: https://eth.nanopool.org/account/[YOUR WALLET ADDRESS]
Tons of programs exist for you to mine in a pool or solo one of the most popular programs is Claymore’s GPU Miner. We found Claymore’s to be the easiest to use with a mining pool plus great performance results as well.
Erfahrungsbericht Coinomia.
@ciprianpt philakone is full of it. No way any R7-370 gets 19-21MH, you can check with others on this forum, we all know they get reported and efective 15-16MH avg. at the pool no more. I’ve even checked his “magic settings” out on the exact same brand cards he has and got nothing more than 15.3MH.
Download latest .NET Framework 3.5 Offline Installer – it is required to run Polaris 1.6 and OverdriveNtool. Windows 10 Comes with 4.x Framework, but that one will not work with Polaris and OverdriveNtool. You need to install the .NET 3.5 manually. Insert the Windows 10 USB stick into the PC (the one you used to install Windows) and set the USB Disc Drive as the Source for installing the .NET 3.5. Here is the Guide how to do it, it’s very simple.
