Good points in this post. Interesting to see I’m not the only one that is thinking about this. The decision to buy a coin should be based on real analysis of the coin. I found that people keep buying coins without have any knowledge of them. This is considered high risk. Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com Every single coin can be analysed here based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model and much more. For example: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Ethereum#analysis For a complete Ethereum Investment research.
Taking today into account, it took us three days to install the cables and connect them to the panel. Now the workshop is properly powered up – there are cables everywhere – which means that we will be able to begin connecting the rigs soon!
They are all priced the same on a cost per MH basis  – usually you get a discount the more you buy. However this is due to the demand with Ethereum as it is such a popular 2nd generation crypto currency. They generally offer daily payouts to the user which you can feed into your ethereum wallet on your phone or however you choose to store it.

I know there have been and maybe still are similar websites as this one. But i will be keeping this one up to date (+ it looks better as well ) and possibly connect it to software that will auto input the details in there directly from your mining rig (The idea is somewhat similar to the nice hash software, but with an option to post your config/card and or load a config) <-- still working on this idea with someone else. Gamers and computer enthusiasts upgrade their systems more than just about anyone. Motherboards, CPUs, and graphics cards sitting around after an upgrade are the perfect starting points for a hobbyist mining machine. You've already paid for these components and extracted value out of them. What's more, you know their history and how well they've been cared for, which isn't necessarily the case when buying discount used parts on eBay. With sufficient leftovers, you should be able to cobble together a competent mining machine, even if it's not terribly impressive. Hi, You don’t need any kind of extra PSU and the PSU does not matter.. For FTW you need extra Splitter which you can find here – http://www.parallelminer.com/product/18awg-pci-e-6pin-to-dual-8-pin-y-splitter-extension-cable-2x-62pin-cable-6in-each-side/ I'll continue to scour for deals and add a card or two here and there for the right price, but I won't pay over $280 for a card unless it's a 580 8gb or 1070+ in which I have no NVIDIA cards at the moment anyway, and even then I won't go much higher or I'll just pass up the deal and be happy where I'm at. Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 109,271 GH/s and using an ETH – USD exchange rate of 1 ETH =306.01. Block reward is fixed at 3  ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.074 per kWh. It's just as inaccurate to calculate the rise in difficulty without calculating the rise in price. Also, when Ethereum goes to PoS, GPU mining efforts can just be transferred to other coins and algorithms. They’ve also installed some of the plugs – the rest will be installed tomorrow, after which we will be able to make the connections to the main panel. But now, with difficulty going through the roof with everyone mining every card they can get their hands on, and coin prices seemingly dropping 5-10% a day....I think the ship either has sailed or at least is pulling out of the dock. They could gamble and win if coin prices spike again, but I feel bad for people jumping in now since most will be lucky to break even. This is my first DASH coin mining investment and the initial return on coin bits looks promising. I just hope I opened the right wallet to receive my automatic daily deposits. So far, I see I'm making Dash coins but the daily deposits haven't started yet. But I'm only on day 3. Made about $300 dollars with genesis so far in about a month and a half. really awesome service. Had one issue with a payment not being processed and customer service resolved this immediatly. A tip I would give is to stick to one mining contract and upgrade every now and then so the difficulty increase wont be noticeable. This is better than having more than one contract and having it pay less and less each time with difficulty increase. Also use crypto to pay instead of credit card, this way there is no 30 day payout hold. Good luck guys. ‘C:\Users\Username>’ the username placeholder is the name of your computer and is the usual display format by the command terminal. Locating Geth is the next step; type in ‘cd/’ into the command prompt terminal; this is an instruction to change directory. ‘C:\>’ should be highlighted now, which means you are currently in the C: drive.
From what I’m reading the Intel HD Graphics 630 can address up to 64 gigabytes of ram allowing you technically keep mining even after the Geforce 1070 is forced out when the DAG finally exceeds 8 gigabytes.
Stupid question: The calculations done by the GPUs, do they serve any purpose, or were they just created to be difficult to do. Could the mining crazes be tied to humanitarian causes like distributed computing projects (folding@home, etc.) so that this benefits society in some way, not just a waste of energy.
The reason Ethereum Cloud miners can get better deals is two fold. Firstly they buy in bulk, so they get a discount on all their graphics cards. Secondly they can put their mining machines in low cost locations such as Iceland. This severely reduces the operating costs of running an ethereum mining contract which means they can pass on these savings to you. In fact Genesis mining run their contracts off green energy – so you can say your being green whilst being in the avant-garde of a financial and technological revolution.
Mine altcoins like UBQ ETH ETC ZEC XMR. Here’s a hardware stack-up of mining rig components to consider while mining Ethereum-based altcoins. Items present have been specifically chosen to work together in order to simplify the task of building your mining rig.
Next, open the Ethereum wallet and generate a new account and contract based wallet. This wallet will contain the payout address at which you’ll receive mining from your pool or directly from the blockchain.
This guide will take a complete beginner through the various steps involved in building a DIY power-efficient ~150 MH/sec ethereum mining computer. Based on my popular litecoin mining guide from 2013, this new guide has been updated with current (2017) top hardware choices, best mining software, and detailed configuration instructions for both modern Linux and Windows operating systems.
I myself was very curious about this type of thing and hope to see more articles of it’s kind (to me more Hardware related than the numerous game reviews). One thing you did not mention however, is you could theoretically mine at break even, and if the Eth value explodes, discover your profit at that juncture. I guess that would make you more a speculator than a miner though?
Ethereum can be mined by using GPUs as the same cannot be applicable in case of Bitcoin mining. Ethereum has an ASIC resistant algorithm that facilitates use of GPUs and dedicated processors resulting in a cost efficient and user-friendly mining process.
Today’s greatest news is that we had our first mining rig for configuration – someone called us to help with the hashrate and power consumption. The rig has 6x RX 580 8GB Special Edition, 4x Hynix memory and 2x Samsung memory. The GPU from the back is a XFX 580 8GB!
