This guide shows you the basics of solo mining, it should give you a good idea of how everything is connected, if you would like to use a mining pool instead you can try our How to connect to an Ethereum mining pool guide.
This video was done to represent 40 days of mining with a single RX 570 (non bios modded) to represent a best case scenario of what a gamer who wanted to use his RX 570 to mine Ethereum would have looked like.
Now that your miner is set up, you’re able to sit back and watch as your video cards gain you passive income every month in the form of Ethereum. It is important to consider any variable costs that you may incur during the mining to determine your profitability. Variable costs may be electrical costs, maintenance costs, pool fees, dev fees, exchange fees, etc.
For the Blockchain of cryptocurrency, e.g. Bitcoin or Ethereum, the Block’s content will be the transfer of coins. Imagine the following Blocks for the coin transactions, we can always trace back the origin of a coin. For example, the coin sent by can be traced back in time through the Blockchain connectivity, where the totality of coins funding are received from and transactions. However, we have noticed the original funding seems to come from the thin air.
Recently there is a good source for the NoFee version that is constantly uploaded to the newest version, and from my testing I get exact 1.1% higher hashrate compared to the official Claymore release (calculated by 24hour comparison of found shares on the mining pool I’m using – nanopool)
If you can be clear about what exactly do you mean by RX cards speed problem that would be helpful. And, when you post in 2018 that and RX 580 is getting 18 MH/s and falling fast, what is this information based off of.
The ultimate goal is to get your rig up and running as FAST as possible. Stop trying to tweak 1 more MH/s. That 1 MH/s isn’t worth all the downtime you’ll have to invest. If you’re a professional miner, yes it may matter. But for the average joes, JUST MINE.
Already, major crypto currencies like BitCoin and Ethereum have skyrocketed in value after only being “invented” a few short years ago. Industry insiders, investment experts, and financial gurus around the world all believe that crypto currency is only just getting started.
Ethereum is an open software platform based on the blockchain technology that enables developers to build and deploy decentralized applications. The advantage of Ethereum over Bitcoin, is that it can support many different types of decentralized applications.
Another option is to specify “-allcoins -1”, in this mode miner will start devfee round immediately after start and therefore will get current epoch for Ethereum, after that it will be able to mine Ethereum fork.
Most efficient algo remains Groestlcoin which now includes segwit. And no marketing for some reason. Devs seem more hobbiests than promoters as a ton of development and zero exposure. No Barry’s batting that ball.
MinerGate is a GUI miner (GUI just means it looks pretty) with its own incorporated multipool, and even though it’s an extremely intuitive tool, MinerGate’s cutting edge smart algorithm is always working in the background to make sure you’re getting the most out of your hardware.
Conversely, if you are up for it, CPU mining can be done. Just type in ‘ETHMINER’ then the enter key to start the The building of a DAG is still required in this step after which Geth takes over communication with Ethminer.
Fans. Liquid cooling requires more thought as it is the GPUs that require the cooling and you will have to purchase the correct GPU liquid cooling add-on, or purchase a GPU with the liquid cooling built in.
With so many changes coming to Ethereum in the future, it is expected that interest in this altcoin will only continue to increase. Whether or not that means there is a future for ASIC mining hardware focused on Ethereum is a different matter altogether. Bitmain has not officially confirmed this product will come to market, and common sense says they will never do so. Then again, Ethereum’s switch to proof-of-stake may still be years away, for all we know. An Ethereum ASIC miner is an interesting idea, but for now, it’s nothing more than an illusion.
Using Ethereum, you can create a contract that will hold a contributor’s money until any given date or goal is reached. Depending on the outcome, the funds will either be released to the project owners or safely returned back to the contributors. All of this is possible without requiring a centralized arbitrator, clearinghouse or having to trust anyone.
SharkMining is one of a kind company developing operating system designed for mining rigs only. SharkOS – served-grade Linux based operating systems with smart control and protection features. Most of mining rigs on the market are based on Windows operating system. Desktop operating system like Windows is not designed for use cases like mining. You will get frequent freezes, unstable mining experience and lower mining speed.
We warrant the product, its components and labor to be free from defects in material and workmanship under regular uses defined in user manuals and this Warranty during the warranty period. The warranty period of certain product is specified on the page of that product and commences on the date of delivery.
We will need to repeat the process for each GPU individually, it’s very important to test it that way so if you end up getting a crash or reset, you will know exactly at what part that happened so  that you can reverse the crashing settings.
Once you start mining, you will also need to keep your Ethereum in a safe location. This is possible in two ways, a local wallet or an online wallet. A local wallet, has better safety as it always remains in your control. However, if you do use a local wallet, then either install it on a computer that’s not your miner or regularly transfer funds elsewhere. The reason for this is that should your computer crash; it could be hard to recover any Ether that is kept on there.
-logsmaxsize   maximal size of debug log files, in MB. At every start the miner checks all files in its folder, selects all files that contain “_log.txt” string and removes oldest files if summary files size is larger than specified value.
Ethereum plans to switch to Proof of Stake in 2018 which will eliminate mining slowly over time. But even if Ethereum is no longer mined you can find a new coin to mine, we recommend checking out whattomine which will keep you in the know for highest ROI coins to mine.
If you see 0/0, the DAG probably isn’t loaded properly, or you were impatient with geth –rpc and it didn’t sync up, now you’re working on some old block, hashing away, because you didn’t sync properly.
You will need to enter in the stratum/IP address of your mining pool, then your worker name followed by password for your worker on the mining pool. Note: not all pools require a password, you can just put “123” if you want.
   EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eth-eu.dwarfpool.com:8008 -ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F/YourWorkerName -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://lbry.suprnova.cc:6256 -dwal Redhex.my -dpsw x -dcoin lbc
Ethereum is quite difficult to get mining on windows – although with a bit of help and following the tutorial below you can get it up and running and start your own ethereum mining project in 15 mins. We’re going to show you how to start mining Ethereum on your GPU and CPU with Windows 64 bit in this guide. You will need to download two programs and need to have a decent GPU with more than 1GB of memory to get the most bang for your buck in terms of mining as Ethereum works on a memory hard hashing technique which GPU’s are best at.
Another interesting thing that doesn’t seem pointed out in the white paper is that the memory has to be FAST. Excessively fast. So standard DRAM isn’t really up to the challenge, which is why the RAM on GPUs take the brunt of the work in most mining today.
As cryptocurrencies and their mining became popular, mining difficulty increased so much that solo miners had no chance to find a block one day. To avoid such a tragedy – and it sounds like a parable – people had to gather in mining pools : everybody earn a little or nobody earn. Whereas solo mining require to run your own blockchain node, a pool runs a node for all miners. Advantage : you don’t have to download and sync the heavy blockchain. Actually, in poolmining, the pool itself is solo mining. It syncs to the network and retrieves the blocks to mine on your behalf ! Then it divides the block solving problem in shares and distributes the work between the miners. When one of them has succesfully mined a block, the pool sends the mined block to the network and gets the reward : the latter is distributed between all miners regarding the shares they’ve mined. There are different ways to calculate the share reward : Pay-Per-Share (PPS) and Pay-Per-Last-N-Shares (PPLNS) for example.

miss information. rx 570 – 580 get 22.5 mh/s with stock settings, if you put the correct drivers. correct drivers for the windows are the last one, but you need to change gaming -> compute to go mining. this will increase from 17 to 22.5. then after bios u can get 29-30
The main issue with this is that it’s actually fairly difficult to set up your own independent mining operation unless you already have extensive experience. If you want it to be easier, I’d suggest pooling. The hardware that you can use can be anything from a relatively cheap, older graphics card to a $1,000 modern behemoth! Be sure to check out our list of the most popular pools for Ethereum.
