Certain hashing algorithms are designed to prevent a massive ASIC advantage over GPU or CPU mining. However, the truth is an ASIC can be designed for any coin. It’s simply a matter of calculating how much money it would take to develop the ASIC, and how much your profits improve by doing so. For Bitcoin’s SHA-256 algorithm, an ASIC would increase your hash rate tremendously and Bitcoin’s price and transaction fees make it very profitable to mine. For other coins with more memory intensive algorithms and lower prices, you might not see a quick return on your ASIC investment. 
From what I understand the algorithm that ethereum uses can’t be done better with Asics by design. Being the 2nd largest crypto for so long I would expect the market to already be flooded if they could.
Once you start mining, you will also need to keep your Ethereum in a safe location. This is possible in two ways, a local wallet or an online wallet. A local wallet, has better safety as it always remains in your control. However, you do use a local wallet, then either install it on a computer that’s not your miner or regularly transfer funds elsewhere. The reason for this is that should your computer crash; it could be hard to recover any Ether that is kept on there.
The  Nvidia GTX 1070   is what I’ve been putting in all the rigs I’ve built for folks since about April of 2017 when all the AMD Rx 4 and 5 series cards sold out and doubled in price on secondary markets. It can mine at 30Mh/s while sipping only 100 watts of electricity. After testing several models, my favorite is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC (model # GV-N1070WF2OC-8GD). It has a twin fan design and seems to run cooler than most of the other 1070 models I’ve tested. If that model is unavailable, any twin fan designed 1070 will work well. Blower models like the Gigabyte 1070 Founders Edition mine at the same hash rate, but need more supplemental cooling like a box fan pointed at your mining rig. I’ve linked to Amazon above, but be sure to check eBay as well for availability since Amazon often limits the number of GPU units you can purchase.

Processor: If you go with an LGA1150 motherboard the Intel Celeron G1840 Processor is often used as it a TDP of just 53 Watts and costs $55.99 shipped.  If you opted for the newer Intel LGA1151 platform something like the Intel Celeron Processor G3930 at $39.00 shipped would not be a bad choice and has a TDP of 51 Watts. Since the CPU load is minimal (usually under 15% for pooled mining) you can get away with a low-cost processor and they both come with a heatsink fan (HSF) that you can use. We highly suggest turning off the Windows 10 search indexing service (simple guide) on your dedicated mining rigs as that eats up power for something that isn’t needed. With it enabled we noticed our CPU load was going up to 40-50% and the system was using significantly more power.

If the miner finds a hash that matches the current target, the miner will be awarded ether and broadcast the block across the network for each node to validate and add to their own copy of the ledger. If miner B finds the hash, miner A will stop work on the current block and repeat the process for the next block.

Theoretically I could make a card, with 2 processors (similar to an R9 290 DUO) and stack 2 memory controllers each with 16 GB of ram on the card and end up with a near 100 MH/s (96 really) it is beyond my own ability to finish the engineering and programming of such card, and I do not possess the LARGE amount of funds it would take to generate the first card. – Memory may or may not affect overclock. This is up for debate. I personally downclock my memory (reported to be downclocked and confirmed by all software from msi afterburner to gpuz to sgminer to ethminer) and on both extremes, low and high, I notice no difference in hash power over a 24 hour period.
some motherboards like the Z170 which are used for Gaming have 6 PCI-E inputs, but if you connect all 6 of them and you have an Integrated GPU enabled on your rig, it probably won’t start or it will give you a poor performance. That is an error on your motherboard, and you have to disable the Integrated GPU to make the rig work, and that is not a good option. And it will for sure cause problems.
More nodes does not increase the ability to handle traffick on any of the existing coins. Mining doesnt ‘add value’ in any other way than helping secure the network, and solving the problem of issuance. (As PoS issuance is effectively not issuance, it is evenly distributed over existing users)
For example, the RX 580’s hashrate has fallen from 23 MH/s (140 epochs) down to 18.5 MH/s (162 epochs). While the RX range is still great for mining other GPU coins, it’s quickly becoming obsolete for Ethereum mining.

Panda is comprised of a handful of video cards stuffed into a shiny box and sold as a miner. Nothing to do with ASIC’s. To design and tape out ASIC’s costs multiple millions and time to do so vs. ever increasing difficulty of any coin’s life. In other words it’s a race. Possible part of the ethereum troll coin scam would be to make it worthwhile for an insider there to waste the money to develop an ASIC but as of now it is quite clear none of the gang have the wherewithal. Configuring remote administration will allow you to disconnect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse from your mining rig and manage it from another computer—even over the internet, if you wish. Windows 10 Professional and up have the built-in option to use Remote Desktop, although it’s disabled by default and must be configured. GPUs were the next available option for miners after noticing that the CPUs were becoming slower with each given day. They realized that the energy consumption of graphics cards was quite high, and so they could be used to mine Bitcoins. AMD GPUs are actually the best in this regard.
Experimentation with various GPU selections in the calculator will reveal a card with the best price to performance to power consumption combination (expressed as MH/s per Currency Unit). Keep in mind that AMD cards outperform NVidia for cryptocurrency mining purposes.

Mining is the way that the ethereum network is able to keep all the information such as transactions and wallet balances in check. All the information on the blockchain is encoded into data blocks which are linked to other blocks, in a chain. For a fast network to exist all these blocks must be analyzed quickly so transactions can be confirmed as genuine by the network. But since there is no central authority which maintains the network they need miners to use their own computational power to validate the blocks for the network.
We will note that your rig won’t have a power button so you’ll need to jump the power switch pins on the motherboard. We used a screw driver to tap the pins to start the rig, but you could also buy a power button.
