1. You published this article on January 19,2017 and you talk about RX 480, but you recommend a driver that is not for this type of video card. I know that Claymore recommends it, but I think it was long time ago, when he wrote his program.
? Krypto-Mining birgt ein sehr hohes Risiko, denn der Ertrag ist von vielen Parametern abhängig. Step 11: Type “cd /” into the newly opened command prompt which should look like this “C:\users\username>cd /” and then press enter. You should now see “C:\>”, You have just used the “cd” command or “change directory” command to make command prompt look at the C:/ drive – not your user file.
In all reality I could have gone on for days with this topic as crypto currencies have always fascinated me and I love configuring miners.  But like I said earlier on this isn’t a tutorial on how to setup a miner or a history lesson in GPU mining.  I’m not encouraging mining or giving advice on what to buy to mine with.  The most important idea going on here is to see how cards perform when hashing out for Ethereum to see where everyone stands since there seems to be quite a bit of buzz it at the moment.  I can definitely see why people are snatching up all the RX 470/570s they can find.  The unfortunate side effect is skyrocketing prices for people who want one of the best value gaming cards that have come along in years.  But there will be a weekly follow up for the next month to this article centered around a single RX 470 to follow the profitability from day to day to track the volatility of the market and see what happens, so stick around for that one.
MyEtherWallet is an open-source client-side Ether wallet running on Javascript. MyEtherWallet makes it easy to create secure wallets without the command line or the need to run an Ethereum client on your computer. By running MyEtherWallet on an offline computer, you can create secure paper wallets for your ether holdings.
So basically, an ASIC should not have any benefit at all because it’s just general computation. And to top it off, contracts can be released that are specifically ASIC-hard so there would be an active disincentive to using ASICs. Though I’m not sure if that has ever been done or not in the wild.
Putting it simply, your mining rig needs to solve a mathematical algorithm to mine Ethereum. The mining difficulty of the network is a measurement of how difficult this algorithm is to solve. The higher the difficulty, the less Ethereum you receive for each unit of energy the GPU on your mining rig expends. As more miners join the network, this difficulty increases.
Like I see it, the current best GPUs can mine 46 MH/s (Radeon R9). And they’re still profitable. So what exactly is the problem with having a miner that has more hashing power, would the power consumption be too high? How high would the power consumption of something like this be, I mean bitcoin miners have incredibly high electricity cost as well, why is this so different?
Claymore software has a fixed fee of 1% when you are mining ethereum or 2% fee when you are mining decred. There are various problems that can happen due to the way the Fee is working. The fee works in a way that each hour you will be disconnected from your mining process and for about 1-2 minutes, you will mine for the Claymore developers. After that it will connect you again to your pool and start the mining again. By constant disconnecting and reconnecting each hour your GPU cools down and then heats up again, and by doing that you are risking the life of your GPU’s. I heard from many people that after some time one of the GPU’s would reset to the default clock settings because of the constant disconnecting/reconnecting or it would “hang” and crash the miner or cause it to recreate the DAG file, and you end up losing valuable time with that. Claymore is a really cool software and I think there could be a better way to support the developers, rather than risking our own miner stability. By using the official Claymore I lost about 3% of my shares compared to using the Claymore without the Developer Fee, everyone can try it for themselves and see the difference.
Power Supply: Your system is going to be running 24/7 and using close to 1000 Watts of power non-stop,  so you’ll want to drop some coin on a good model. We highly suggest an 80 PLUS Platinum rated power supply that is 1200W or greater. We’ve used the Enermax Platimax 1350W ($239.99 shipped) with good success. If you plan on undervolting the GPU and reducing the power consumption you should be able to get away with a 1,000 Watt power supply. The EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 is solid 80 PLUS platinum model for $213.72 shipped or you can go with a lower cost Corsair RM1000x that is 80 PLUS gold certified for $159.99 shipped. Depending on the model you get and the model of video card that you are running you might need to get some SATA to 8-pin PCIe power adapters to connect all the video cards. If you plan on running two power supplies on one system you might want to pick up a dual power supply connector to power up and shut down both power supplies like normal.
each Motherboard has a FIXED MAX PCI-E support. For example an H81 pro btc has 7, that means you can’t have more than 7 GPU’s connected on that motherboard! (Integrated GPU on the motherboard + 6 GPU = 7 GPU total)
The estimated expected cryptocurrency earnings are based on a statistical calculation using the values entered and do not account for difficulty and exchange rate fluctuations, stale/reject/orphan rates, and a pool’s efficiency. If you are mining using a pool, the estimated expected cryptocurrency earnings can vary greatly depending on the pool’s efficiency, stale/reject/orphan rate, and fees. If you are mining solo, the estimated expected cryptocurrency earnings can vary greatly depending on your luck and stale/reject/orphan rate.
you can buy a gtx 1070 used for the same price u can buy a used rx 480. the 1070 is better in everything, also in mining? is it worth for running the pc 14h with an 1070 on the limit? i hope amd bring this dumb mining cards asap on the market that all normal dudes can buy the nice midclass gpu’s for gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaims!!!!!!!!! i still can remember a time where the msi gaming x 8gb was available for 249 bucks and some other cards for 220. i havent see this shit comming, if so… i better bought some of this little suckers and make +100 bucks per card… i would call it “bitcoin-mining-gpu-mining” damn!
