The diff change is the rate at which the network difficulty is changing every month. Diff change is used for the estimated future profits graph and break-even analysis. Typically in crypto, network difficulty tends to increase over time, meaning a miner will generate less crypto with the same hardware. Accounting for this changing difficulty is essential to generate long term profitability predictions.
Using below table, you can check how profitable it is to mine selected altcoins in comparison to ethereum. Please note that calculations are based on mean values, therefore your final results may vary. For best results fill all fields with your hash rate and power consumption. Input Groestl hash rate, not Myriad-Groestl. Default values are adapted for three 480 cards.
But if don’t want to build a mining rig and just want to mine ethereum with single GPU I will suggest you to go with  AMD Radeon R9 295X2, as it is the most powerful mining hardware available in the market.
It is strange, yes. I thought that too. At some point I abandoned the Claymore and started WinMiner just to see in the command prompt that… its using Claymore 9.7 Beta. It connected and started mining from the WinMiner pools. In a few hours I tried again the newest Claymore and it connected to mine ETH.
The key to faster returns is minimizing initial costs. Unless you can get someone to pay you to take GPUs off their hands, the best you can hope for is free. Much as we may wish it, merchants don’t give their merchandise away, and not everyone can expect to win raffles and prizes. But old components sitting on a shelf don’t cost anything. With a little luck (and apologies to Dire Straits), you can go mining for nothing, bits for free.
At a high level, the goal of buffered pooled mining is to allow each participant in a mining pool to draw ethereum on demand from their current and future hashrate contribution without waiting for a long or unpredictable amount of time. This quantity of ethereum is large enough for many programming purposes, such as micropayments.
Consider this: A 50 percent depreciation rate (in one year) is a favorable rate pegged to a $600 GPU. If you sold your GPUs for $300 a piece, you would make $1,200 from your resale, bringing your overall revenue to $4,116.59. This means your profits are $1,116.59, which is about a 37 percent return.
This list is now outdated since AMD released their new RX Vega line. They dominate the competition especially after tweaking. Check out newest review of the best GPUs for mining: https://cryptosrus.com/best-gpu-for-mining/
Due to the massive demand for Ethereum mining rigs you’ll see cards sold out at most retailers (Nvidia has even put out a statement about it). If you’re willing to pay a premium you can find them at a higher cost but we recommend finding the cards for their retail price. The GeForce 1070 is easier to find from our research.
Yes yes and yes. I’m 100% with you here. The issue is if the difficulty currently keeps increasing as it has, there will be no 6 or 8 month ROI it will never come. Unless it really really flattens out it will be infinity ROI for any miner getting in now unless they’re getting their GPU’s for $120/card or so. And yeah we’ve discussed this before and it ultimately comes down to the fact that no one knows the future so it’s all about what you think will happen.
Risers can be powered or unpowered. A riser is unpowered if it simply connects a GPU to a motherboard PCIe slot. A riser is powered if it additionally accepts power from the PSU (generally via a molex-type connector). Unpowered risers allow GPUs to receive up to 75 watts of power through the motherboard’s PCIe bus, just as if they were plugged in directly. Powered risers will take that additional power directly from the PSU instead, bypassing the motherboard.
Once you build trust into hashflare you can also recommend it to friends or family. I personaly have many friends who invested into hashflare. You can get an easy 10% commission for each purchase your referral makes. Be sure to check out their affiliate system.
Will a MSI P45T – C51 Motherboard with a IntelE7500 Core 2Duo processor get me up and running atleast until i can afford something a little better. Im based in South Africa and electricity is cheap but our exchange rate to the dollar is insane 15-1……….
For people who don’t pay for electricity in a month or 2 is the best time to enter mining since the used market is already flooding with graphics cards as we speak. The prices will drop and you can pick up a RX580 for 200€ easy.
We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).
State of the Art Mining, excellent service provider ! Orders are treated in fast manner, 24 Hours after the payment to mine, you get your first coins in your Wallet ! Is that not a beautiful concept and easy to GO. Whatelse … Looking forward to adding more hashing power. Greg Chemin
Im leaving this review not as a slant on this site but to let you know that the calculator may need updating, Ive got 11.7TH/s and get daily payouts of 0.0021 to 0.0029 where as your calculator says 10 TH/s will give me daily pay outs of 0.003386 which is quite a big difference
It has been already 2 months since I’ve been experimenting with bitcoin cloud mining contracts on HashFlare.io. In today’s article, I will share my observations and concerns about this cloud mining program. …
Mining Ethereum at this point requires a 3GB GPU because of the size of the DAG file. DAG stands for Directed Acyclic Graph and is essentially a database of the existing blockchain. In order to mine the next block, your hardware needs to be aware of all the existing blocks. As of this writing, the DAG is just over 2GB, and it only gets bigger with each new step, which happens at least once a week. The vast majority of miners load the entire DAG into VRAM. Without sufficient capacity, the GPU can’t even begin mining operations.
