In the meanwhile, we’ve started to build the shelves for the rigs. The design we’ve came up with does not take a lot of resources while at the same time is enough to safely hold all the rigs. At first, we were about to order steel bars for the rigs when we’ve realized that aluminum ones would do even better.
Mining centers in a small US town of Plattsburgh, NY have stumbled upon a moratorium filing. Local politicians expressed the concern over high consumption of electricity and environment. In general, the politicians want those centers to stop their activity and stay away from the town for good. The public hearing date is set on March 15 at the Common Council Chambers.
Mine is a Frankenstein type so I did not worry of buying new GPU’s. In the long run, once my investment has gone full blown, I can buy new rigs. If ever things goes down, I still have the option to sell my GPU’s and at least I have return of my investment even though not 100%.
Crypterra – new company, offering mostly 2-year proftable cloud mining contracts. Update on Crypterra: Looks like they are a scam, the website disappeared and SSL certificate was revoked. We were paid the last time on january 20, 2018. Discussion here. Before adding them to our website we did a lot of emailing with them and somehow they convinced us that they are a legit company. We also received regular payments. For more detalis you can contact us [2018-01-25].
What I recommend is running a command prompt (I assume you’re in Windows) and then navigating to the Ethereum folder and running the bat file. Doing it this way, the output will not disappear and you’ll be able to get the error message which will help in diagnosis.
You can get plastic crates in most home improvement stores if you don’t want to ship it from Amazon (it’ll be cheaper, too!). I picked mine up at Lowe’s for under $5 each. You should be able to get everything else on the list at Lowe’s if you happen to have one near you, too. As far as tools go, you’ll need a drill and a knife capable of cutting into whatever plastic crate you buy.
Im leaving this review not as a slant on this site but to let you know that the calculator may need updating, Ive got 11.7TH/s and get daily payouts of 0.0021 to 0.0029 where as your calculator says 10 TH/s will give me daily pay outs of 0.003386 which is quite a big difference
From what I’m reading the Intel HD Graphics 630 can address up to 64 gigabytes of ram allowing you technically keep mining even after the Geforce 1070 is forced out when the DAG finally exceeds 8 gigabytes.
Using CoinWarz’s mining profitability calculator, we can plug in a growing block difficulty to see that the profit per day goes from $18.24 to $1.60 in just one year. The calculator uses the following inputs: hash rate (MH/s), power (Watts), power cost ($/kWh), difficulty, block reward, pool fees, ETH/BTC value, BTC/USD value, and hardware costs. For our predictive profit function, we plugged a point into the calculator once every month and assumed a linear fit in between each point.
Mining works by connecting to the blockchain and verifying transactions by verifying new blocks in the blockchain. By doing this they are securing the network and preventing errors from happening such as double spending. The miners put these blocks through a process by applying a mathematical formula to it, turning the numbers into a shorter, random looking sequence of numbers. This number is the blockchain’s hash. Producing hashes from the data of a blockchain’s block is easy, however it is impossible to work out what the starting data was just by looking at the hash. Each hash is unique and changing even a single character in the hash changes it completely. Here is an excellent video which explains what your computers do when its mining that uses pen and paper as an example (This method is extremely inefficient so do not expect to make a profit off of it.)
If you live in a hot region and use air conditioning, you actually consume more than double the listed electricity because the heat being produced in the computer has to be subsequently removed by the air conditioning, which is not 100% efficient.
It isn’t only China mining centres. Genesis and quite a few other Western farms are being expanded and set up so yah! It’s still technically “impossible” for us to see mining become unprofitable for the general home miner isn’t it
The What To Mine Calculator is hands down, the most useful mining calculator. The reason being that you simply fill in your graphics cards models and the site will calculate the power draw, hash rate, and the most profitable coin for your set up. The site will even show you the best exchange to sell your coins on. Additionally, the site will also apply a reasonable overclock to the cards making your results even more accurate. mining, overclocking is extremely useful so think of this as “free performance.” The only downside to this site is that it only has information on 11 different GPUs and no CPUs. You also can’t fill in your pools fee. This site is still extremely useful for finding the most profitable coin to mine, making it my preferred calculator.
The market? Most people will sell off their gpus or just turn them off.. Are you reffering to the gpu market? 1million gpus.. world wide is a small number and frankly nothing to really be too concerned about..
Bought a 2-year DASH X11 Contract with Genesis about 2 months ago and I am very happy with it. It has already almost paid 50% of the initial cost. Looks like these contracts have sold out now but I would definitely buy again.
Please note that it is an estimated amount of cryptocoins you can get. The calculations are based on the current pool fee, 0% bad shares and doesn’t account for orphan blocks or uncles. Your profit depends on network difficulty, block reward, transactions amount and fee. Exchange rates are provided by Changelly.
It’s hard for me to tell yet – how legit is HashFlare, they seem pretty legit to me, but I haven’t yet withdrawn any  funds from there yet (well, I’ve been with HashFlare cloud mining just for a month and mining BTC)
worst article ever, get your fact right, you state different speeds for the same card (RX vega 64) and clearly you dont have a clue, i mine with rx580 and my hashrate its 30 with bios mod and propper patched drivers for mining
In order to mount the GPUs within the crate or case, you’ll need riser PCI cables to extend the PCI-e connection from the motherboard.  Get as many PCI Express 1X to 16X Powered Riser Cables as you can to match up with the number of GPUs you have.   There are many different variants, like this one or this or this.
As we are assembling 6 GPU ETH mining rig you will need 6 of them. If you are low on budget you can always start with 4 of them and periodically increase them. GTX 1070 uses 150W of power which is also great.
A: If you’ve got a suitable GPU with at least 3GB RAM, it’s a quick and painless matter of making some tweaks in Windows, installing the mining app then entering a few settings from your chosen pool’s website. Further details are available in the Getting Started with Mining section.

The hash rate of the RX 460 is reported to be around 11 mega-hashes per second (MHS). With a “peak” wattage consumption of 75 watts, that translates to 0.147 MHS/W. The 470 produces a hash rate of around 25 MHS with a power consumption of around 120 watts for 0.208 MHS/W. Of the two, the 470 offers better efficiency per watt. But the 460 is easier to deploy on low-cost, low-end systems. And the 470 costs a great deal more on secondary markets. More or less, the 470 is running for well over $350 on eBay, whereas you can still get a 460 for around $100.
