They include the ether earned from all blocks (5 ETH) as well as the rewards. Revenues are easier to calculate after mining since you have all the information. I have ETH contract with Genesis for 2 years and one with same Hash rate with a competitor but 1 year contract. Genesis has consistently paid out more than the competitor. Happy with Genesis contract. When I bought from competitor, all Genesis was sold out. I have bought again now that it is available.

The time-tested wisdom in mining is that it’s probably best to not assume that ETH will stay at any given price in the short term. Theoretically, it could crash at any moment. If ETH had a sudden price crash, people would be dumping their GPUs all over eBay and Craigslist — meaning much lower resale value for your hardware. It’s also wise to consider that if the difficulty continues increasing and the price doesn’t see any major bumps in the coming weeks, revenues will only be thinned even more.

All the information on cryptocurrency transactions must be embedded in data blocks. Each block is linked internally to several other blocks. This creates the blockchain. These blocks must be analyzed as fast as to ensure a smooth running of transactions on the platform. However, the issuers of such currencies do not have the processing capabilities to handle this alone. It is where miners come in.
Which model to pick, though? While literally any RX 570/580 card will do, the most important thing to look for is memory speed if you want the best performance. Cards with a higher memory clock speed will generally perform a bit better while mining ETH (and can generally be overclocked more). Memory capacity isn’t really important beyond 4GB, so all other things being equal, there is no reason to shell out extra cash for the 8GB version of a card. It’s true that every GPU needs to be able to hold Ethereum’s DAG file in memory, and that file is slowly increasing in size—but it won’t surpass 4GB until late 2019 (and ETH’s switch to PoS will likely occur before then, anyway).
For example, the GTX 1050 Ti doesn’t have a very high hashrate. However, it doesn’t consume much power either. In fact, buying four 1050 Ti’s would cost you the same as buying one R9 295X2 and they have a higher profit ratio.
So find coins where the fiat price is at least stable but the difficulty is not going through the roof due to a flood of new miners coming online. At least one strategy guide I’ve read says you should mine new coins and dump as soon as other miners start to flood in, or the price goes down. I’ve done that with some altcoins a few years back and made maybe $50 in a few days but that was about it – but it was definitely more than the cost of electricity.

All transactions in Ethereum (and other cryptocurrencies) are encapsulated within discrete blocks. These blocks are comparable to the batches of transactions which banks send to each other, except in Ethereum they occur every 15 seconds (on average). Blocks are identified by their “height,” starting from 0 and incrementing sequentially until the current block.
Could I use this setup to install 2 GPUs RX 460 instead of one? I know that will drive the power cost up but Im wondering if the motherboard would take it. I don’t mind an extra 100 watts for 11 MH/s of ETH
A high-level summary of Claymore rig health can be monitored using tail -f on a logfile of watchclay output. The summary includes overall hashrate, slowest GPU, shares accepted and rejected by the mining pool, the temperature of the hottest GPU, and total amps drawn.
Each block must have the proof of work of the given difficulty if it is to validated in consensus. The algorithm for validation is called Esthash. It has to do with identifying the nonce input to the result in such a way that it will be below a threshold that is determined by the difficulty. If the outputs are uniform in distribution, then the fact that the time required to find a nonce depends on the difficulty is guaranteed. In this case, simply manipulating the difficulty will allow a miner control how much time is required to find a new block.
It’s just as inaccurate to calculate the rise in difficulty without calculating the rise in price. Also, when Ethereum goes to PoS, GPU mining efforts can just be transferred to other coins and algorithms.
If you’re not already handy with computers, Linux/Windows scripting and command line, hardware troubleshooting, know how ethereum works, and can wait 2+ months to get the possibility of breaking even on your hardware purchase, you’ll get more for your money and time by focusing on learning how cryptocurrencies and trading work and perhaps invest some money (but only as much as you are willing to lose) and start trading it.
with my rig, I invested 2500$ for 10x GTX 1060 and I’m making around 24$ / day with the current value of ETN. It took me 3 months to be break even so whatever you hear, yes it’s profitable but nobody know how long it is going to be profitable. Mining cryptocurrency is bet for the future.
You will be disappointed with such a pathetic return you will receive. Plus difficulty will most likely double by the time you are up and running. And with new GPU tech months away from release your current purchase will crater in value. It’s a lose-lose situation for new potential miners. There won’t be anything profitable to mine after ETH.
Generally, any motherboard with PCIe slots on it is suitable for mining—typically one GPU per PCIe slot. The PCIe slots don’t need to be full-length, as we can attach GPUs to 1x slots with the help of risers. With that said, there are potentially some limitations when you start to pack a large number (4+) of GPUs onto one motherboard, even if that board has enough PCIe slots to physically accommodate them. That’s why picking a suitable motherboard is probably your biggest hardware headache if you want to run as many GPUs as possible in your rig.

This is really overpriced. Buy 4 7990 and get 200 MH/s for around 2600. MB, CPU, HD, PSU, riser cards and built an open air case for around $400. Then if it ever gets to the point mining isn’t profitable sell the cards etc. and save money and make more money than paying $4400 for 100 MH/s…

If you want a low cost of entry into the world of mining, then the AMD is perfect for you because their cards tend to be cheaper and offer more support and potential for modification. On the other hand, Nvidia Cards have better thermal management and overclocking support within Windows.
As i am new to mining i have yet to review my earnings w/ genesis mining and see ,however the support they offer seems to be class leading, thanks for the wonderful support. hope to review my mining experience with the company in the future.
Notice the wave pattern in the chart? Our guess is its claymore’s dev fee kicking in at that time. We also seemed to had some internet outage (and that is the most annoying thing ever – no internet, no mining)
Some numbers – running ethminer on my CPU gives me a hashrate of 0.248 megahashes per second (MH/s). For comparison, each of my over-clocked AMD R9 390X GPUs gives me a hashrate of about 31.58 MH/s. My GPU gives me 127x the hashrate of my CPU. It is a lowish end CPU AMD FX(tm)-6350 6 core processor and with motherboard + CPU + disk drive + fans consumes about 200 Watts, or 4.8 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per day.
The best advice is usually to just pick up whichever 570/580 card you can get your hands on for the least money, as mining speed differences between brands/models are pretty small after optimization. These 8GB MSI RX 570 cards are $220 each as of 11/29/2017, and I’m running mine at 28 Mh/sec without pushing them too hard.
