Im leaving this review not as a slant on this site but to let you know that the calculator may need updating, Ive got 11.7TH/s and get daily payouts of 0.0021 to 0.0029 where as your calculator says 10 TH/s will give me daily pay outs of 0.003386 which is quite a big difference
With a modest rate of Hash power that stands at 24 MH/s, Radeon RX 470 has comparable features of Radeon RX 480. There are however minor differences between Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 480 which was designed initially as a graphic card for gaming activities. Popularity of this graphic processing unit for mining activities can be attributed to its robust processing power and satisfactory hash rates. In contrast, Radeon RX 470 was built for Ethereum mining right from the word go.
The power supply is extremely important—don’t skimp on it! A good, efficient PSU will keep your electricity costs to a minimum and more than pay for itself over the long run. Seasonic, EVGA, and Corsair are all generally top brand choices. The 1200W unit that I’ve linked may seem like overkill, but power supplies are most efficient when they’re not running near their rated maximum load. A 6 GPU rig will draw about 750 watts (assuming 6x RX 570 cards, properly optimized), which means a 1200W PSU will have sufficient headroom to perform efficiently.
MiningFit is a Norway based mining contract provider. They offer a range of contracts from 5 TH/s to 500 TH/s having chosen several optimal locations to house their equipment – where there is cheap electricity and low temperatures to reduce the need for cooling.
The computer industry’s use of kilobyte, megabyte, and gigabyte is inconsistent with the SI. The Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC) has redefined the prefixes kilo-, mega- and giga- in correspondence with bit and byte as powers of 1024 instead of 1000. Higher prefixes were not redefined by JEDEC.
Profits for miners have steadied out over the last few weeks since the price of ETH doubled. As of this writing, a 150 Mh/s 6 GPU mining rig consuming roughly 1,000W of electricity at a rate of $0.1 per KW/h is turning almost .13 ETH per week, which is far less ETH than could be earned earlier this year, but still a non-negligible profit of as much as $350 per month at current prices.
When a currency (Ethereum) is resistant to ASIC mining, the average person can afford to buy a GPU if they don’t already have one. This allows everyone to verify the network instead of a select few with lots of power.
I am in the peocess of ordering parts for a good 6 card mining rig. What is the best GPU card i can get now that uses the least amount of power? What is your email? Maybe you could send me an updated list for 2018? Or are all the parts still basically the same as your first list? Thank you much for all this help!!! ?

Another way to look at the increasing difficulty is that you could say, well it just means it takes 10x longer to compute the hashes compare to 6 months ago but you still get ETH at the end, it just burns a bit more electricity getting there (well 10x is quite a bit more…) Remember also that at least with cloud mining the contract is limited to 2 years – for example if your first 1.5 ETH takes a month to mine, second 1.5 ETH takes 2 months to mine, and your third 1.5 ETH takes 4 months to mine then you’re never going to see anything like 36 ETH at the end of 2 years, you just run out of time.
Mining Ether takes up a lot of electricity. On the plus side, though, if mining practices are carried out efficiently more income is generated through the sale of Ether. Ethereum mining calculators are available for calculating profits. So, there’s no need to get worked up since you’ll still get a profit at the end.
Technological advances have helped build high end computing platforms baked by dedicated graphic processors called as Graphic Processing Units or GPUs. These processors help reduce CPU loads by looking after all graphics related tasks.
After monitoring my contract on 50 MH/s on Script, my payout on Litecoin is 3.6825. With current price of $26.97/LTC, my mining payout per 30 days is around $119. My rate of recovery on investment is about 7 months as compared to many other pools offering around 10 to 11 months. It’s.pretty easy to see the efficiency & advantage offered by Genesis Mining. The Genesis Team is really doing a good job; might see you folks when traveling for Northern Lights!
The calculator uses the latest average network hashrate and usd prices as the defaults. It will also provide an estimate of how long (in days) it will take you to mine a block statistically. Let me know if you any further suggestions or ideas
If you’re building your own case (whether it’s from a plastic crate, or aluminium, or something else), you’ll need risers to connect your GPUs to your motherboard. If you’re buying a mining frame, most include risers. Risers tend to be pretty misunderstood among new miners, so here is what you need to know:
The time-tested wisdom in mining is that it’s probably best to not assume that ETH will stay at any given price in the short term. Theoretically, it could crash at any moment. If ETH had a sudden price crash, people would be dumping their GPUs all over eBay and Craigslist — meaning much lower resale value for your hardware. It’s also wise to consider that if the difficulty continues increasing and the price doesn’t see any major bumps in the coming weeks, revenues will only be thinned even more.
In order to mount the GPUs within the crate or case, you’ll need riser PCI cables to extend the PCI-e connection from the motherboard.  Get as many PCI Express 1X to 16X Powered Riser Cables as you can to match up with the number of GPUs you have.   There are many different variants, like this one or this or this.

There are a few tools out there that will give you your exact solar insolation hours for your area. I’ll post a few links at the bottom of the post. When i designed systems at Affordable Solar Group here in Albuquerque, i would design the systems over the phone so i would use the customer/businesses zip code and basic roof information (really just the pitch of the roof or if it is a flat roof) and the following website:
Head over to MyEtherWallet.com (Note: Please beware of phishing websites. Do not enter your key on a website you arrived at by clicking a link. Always triple-check the domain. The real site is MyEtherWallet dot com)
The DAO crowdfunding project has stirred up a resurgence in the Ether price, which had fallen and hit a patch of sideways activity following a previous rally. At press time, CoinMarketCap.com reports the Ether price at $14.05 USD.
As mentioned make sure your power supply unit can handle the Graphics cards and that you have risers capable of placing extra GPU’s in a safe location. Make sure all the connections are in nicely and everything is held together firmly.
Is Ethereum mining profitable? This is one of the most asked questions about ethereum mining. The response is not so simple and clear because not all the parameters can be anticipated. Profitability depends on the hashrate and on the price of hardware and electricity but also on Eth price and on the how many other people are mining in the network. While most of the parametes are steady the last 2 are can change from on day to another.
4GB is fine. Overkill really, at least for Linux. If you have an old 2GB stick (or even 1GB!) sitting around and plan to run Linux, you’re good to go. If you want to run Windows, then 4GB is probably a realistic minimum.
You are more than welcome to do your own research, buy the components on your own and build the thing from zero. However, if you are short on time and want to get your own plug and play mining rig at a reasonable price, then I am here to help.
Even so, you can still use these calculators by thinking clearly about the costs involved. Profitability calculators (for example, The Genesis Block) often ask for your electricity costs, and sometimes the initial investment in hardware. Effectively, you are being asked for your ongoing costs and your one-off investments.
I just started about four weeks ago and was lucky enough to amass 20 cards in this short span in this market all for under $300, some used and new, except one at $305. Probably around $250 average for a mix of 480/570/580. But I work from home and am able to monitor eBay, monitor nowinstock, check the used listings on fb and cl while I work or on breaks. Lots of late nights too, got a bit obsessed for a period. No way I have the GPUs I do now if I didn’t, and I still have a tiny setup compared to many.
While Ethereum mining is pretty memory-intensive, everything happens on the GPUs. System memory will be pretty much unused, so there is no reason to spend money here, especially with DDR4 prices so high.
Any firm, person, corporation, or other entity that shall establish, place, construct, erect or in any way site or locate a Commercial Cryptocurrency Mining operation described in this local law in the City of Plattsburgh in violation of the provisions of this Local Law shall be subject to, in addition to any penalties prescribed by state or local law, a civil penalty of not more than $1,000.00 for each day or part thereof during which such violation continues.
Regardless, I’m going to pick up where Eric left off. With a stack of graphics cards at hand, I am ready to go down the mineshaft. Will this be a fool’s errand, or is there still gold to be found? Let’s find out.
Open-ended contracts were previously called life-time contracts. But as the difficulty grows every day the server bought for example 2 years ago doesn’t have power to mine the bitcoin today. Actually it has but the cost of electricity spent for it makes it unprofitable. In genesis-mining.com contract is written that open-ended contracts can be cancelled when it reach the level the mining is no more profitable. It can be in 2, 3, 4 years…. Impossible to answer this question:)
And so we begin. Today we have spent almost all the day searching and shopping for tools and other things needed to start. We’ve obtained two doors, one to the office and the other one to the rig hosting / testing phase room. Next in our list was wire and cable, plasterboards to build the office walls, an automatic screwdriver, screws, plaster bags and some other things.
The same strategy applies for other hardware. All my motherboards are used, ram used. New ssd and power supplies but if you’re going to be profitable in this market you have to be as lean as possible.
Why do you need yo use the powered risers with the B250 MB? If I need to use powered risers do I need to make sure each bank A/B/C GPU and riser is from same PS? Or all powered risers need to be on PS as MB?
