The real challenge comes with keeping all of this cool. As once you go beyond 2 or 3 video cards you will have to run the pc out of a case. But that isn’t a concern at first, a few case fans will keep air moving nicely.
Place plastic standoffs on the bottom of your plastic crate, and rest your motherboard on top of them. Make sure that all of the essential ports are accessible (SATA, USB, keyboard, mouse, etc). Use your knife to cut away pieces of the crate if necessary so that all ports you plan to use are exposed. Then plug your riser cables into the PCI-E slots of your motherboard.
The inaugural five-day event, held from 5–9 September at ETH Zurich, brought together experts such as Dr. Christian Decker (core tech engineer at Blockstream), Arthur Gervais (blockchain researcher at ETH Zurich), Farzam Fanitabasi (IoT researcher at TU Delft), Dr. Evangelos Pournaras (NervousNet researcher at ETH Zurich), Thomas Bertani (founder of Oraclize), Roman Mandeleil (founder of EtherCamp), Taylor Gerring (co-founder of Ethereum) and Dr. Sebastian Bürgel (co-founder of Validity Labs), in addition to sixty students and ETH teaching staff. The event kicked off with hands-on lessons in building systems delivered by the aforementioned. This was followed by two days of prototype building by student teams spanning the application areas of:
Plenty of options for AMD owners if Eth goes to POS, other Ethash coins like Ubiq, Pirl or ETP. My RX 570’s also perform well with CryptoNight, Monero, Sumokoin, ETN and then theirs multiple Neoscrypt coins too.
The problem is that motherboards with 2 x16 PCIe slots (either 2.0 or 3.0 should work) tend to cost quite a bit. Currently, I believe that people are buying older high end boards and using Celeron processors (which are the lowest tier for socketed processors) in order to get a board that’s within an affordable price bracket. PCIe is an older socket, so in theory you should be able to go back pretty far and find something that works.
While Ethereum mining is pretty memory-intensive, everything happens on the GPUs. System memory will be pretty much unused, so there is no reason to spend money here, especially with DDR4 prices so high.
Now save your file as Batch file with the bat extension.  Choose File > Save As and then in the box, choose a name for it and then type “.bat” after the name, and in the Save as type box, make sure you select “All Files”, and then click Save.  Congrats, you now have a batch file ready to mine!  Create a shortcut for the new Bat file and send it to your desktop.  You can then delete the text file version of the file.
Some contracts only exist for a certain amount of time. They might exist for three months yet have a payback period of over a year. This way you will never get your money back. If our payback period says never, it means that you will never get your money back as the fee exceeds the revenue the contract generates per day, or the payback period is longer than the duration of the contract.
Like the concept and ease of website. Not clear as to the difference of the Monero contract vs others you sell as I thought I could allocate my mining across different coins which was a little disappointing. Looking forward to seeing results!
M2 to PCI Adapters: $20. You need two adapters for one rig, $10 each. They are made in China and are somewhat problematic. Some batches can be okay while others, every second or third adapter is not working correctly.
Fortunately, a handful of AMD motherboards include full PCIe slots and low-power processors. AMD released two different lines of processor that offered a winning combination of low power consumption, low cost, and a full PCIe slot: the AM1 platform Build a Leaner, Greener, Meaner HTPC with AMD’s New AM1 Platform Build a Leaner, Greener, Meaner HTPC with AMD’s New AM1 Platform This article covers the various components, with suggestions, for building an AM1-based media center or office productivity desktop. Read More and a series of motherboards with soldered-on processors. Of these, I prefer the ECS KBN-I/2100 — but these tend to be hard to find and overpriced. Fortunately, the AM1 platform provides similar low build cost and low power consumption. For example, you can find an AM1 dual-core Sempron processor for around $35. And the motherboard costs around $25 with Prime shipping.
Another important thing to consider is that these cards have a high hash power for many other coins besides Ethereum. This means that these cards will remain profitable even if Ethereum Mining becomes too competitive. I purchased these cards because I know that I plan on mining for a long time, and that buying the right equipment would make it more profitable.
Mining is also the mechanism used to introduce Bitcoins into the system: Miners are paid any transaction fees as well as a of newly created coins. This both serves the purpose of disseminating new coins in a decentralized manner as well as motivating people to provide security for the system.
Il est donc impossible de savoir qui sont les utilisateurs du réseau monero ce qui est un argument de poids pour les esprits libertariens et autres personnes réticentes à l’idée de se faire taxer leurs crypto-monnaies. ?
There are currently about 2.5 million GPUs mining Ethereum. The rating for efficiency can be determined by dividing the hashrate by the power draw. This is a primary indicator, which shows how profitable your mining operations will be in the future (after the payback period), given that electricity is a fixed, ongoing cost. The more efficient your card (newer cards are usually more efficient), the more profitable it will be once you’ve received the ROI.
With a total of 14 fans running on the machine, it is pretty loud, but we have it in a spare room cranking out money. This is very unlike any computer I had seen before, but it is the cheapest way to build one of these, since the GPUs are what really matters. The GPUs are the 6 units suspended on top.
Question mine under linux ubuntu debian arch centos or windows or ethos and why, thank’s for the réponse, thx 🙂 with 7970 R9 280 thx.For the best rentability and the best hashrate and pool nanopool ou suprnova or fly or other, thx i’m noob thx
The Radeon RX 480 is most efficient GPU in the market. The power cost per day shows $0.4320. The hash power if this GPU is 25.0 MH/s. this implies that it has the cost per MH/s at $7.96. The Radeon RX 480’s return per day is standing at $1.21, with a return per year of $440.91. This GPU will cost your around $200.

This is great info. I’ve just built a mining rig, and I’ve written up a post on how I did it. The post focuses on building the case, not software or which components to buy. http://blog.timwheeler.io/building-an-ethereum-mining-rig/.
Correct. As a miner, you are making money of block awards if they are still happening and on transaction fees paid as part of all transactions transmitted over the network. We are the ones that reach a consensus on the correct status of the blockchain and pass new blocks to the chain. If any old blocks are tampered with, the mining nodes will see it (the hash value of old blocks will change) and the tampered blocks will be rejected and overwritten with the correct data from other nodes.
Both design styles end up looking very similar to one another. That’s because cryptocurrency mining focuses on two parts: the graphics card and the power supply. The rest of the computer can be little more than scrap heap pulls.

Mining profitability calculator host CoinWarz has recently launched a calculator for Ether, the token that fuels the Ethereum platform. “Perfectly timed” with the history-making DAO crowdfund, the company believes that their calculator has hit the market just in time for Ether mining profitability to be pushed “to the moon.”
In Ethereum Mining, the difficulty is adjusted dynamically so that the network produces one block in every 12 seconds on an average. Thanks to the synchronization of the system, it is not possible to rewrite history or maintain a fork except the individual attempting to do so has over half of the mining power in the network.
This miner can mine other algo simultaneously, charges additional developer fee. Developer fee is 1% for Ethereum-only mining mode and 2% for dual mining mode.
