The RX 480 and 580s are extremely popular mining cards due to the fact that their price is very low, especially when compared to the similarly performing GTX 1070. Another benefit of this card is that AMD allows users to flash their card’s BIOS, which can make the card run at at higher hash rates with lower power draws. However, due to the popularity of this card, it can be very hard to find at reasonable prices, but if you can find this card at a good price it’s an excellent performer for mining. This card is an excellent choice to use on the CryptoNight, and ETHash algorithms. When compared to NVidias offerings however, it’s a very poor performer on EquiHash.
You can now test that your rig is mining using the first command, and then start mining using the second. It’s a simple as that. If you want to use a pool different to Nanopool, then, of course, replace it with your chosen one.
While the GTX 1070 sits atop our list of the best mining GPUs, its follow up, the GTX 1070 Ti, is another fantastic mining graphics card, and with a number of power upgrades, such as a higher base clock, the 1070 Ti does a very good job. However, there are a few reasons why it’s listed lower than its older sibling. For a start, as it’s newer it costs more than the 1070, which will dent your profits from mining. It also has a higher power consumption, which makes it more costly to run. Finally, there have been incidents of a bug in the driver software which makes this GPU hash lower than expected, but an upcoming fix should sort that. If you’re prepared to tweak a few settings, however, this is an excellent mining GPU.
Pro-tips: check out the following GPU’s: AMD Rx 470/480 Rx 570/580, AMD R9 range, HD 7990 / 7950 (if used cards are available, try to get them from a gamer instead of a miner, with a warranty if possible).  For Nvidia, look at the 1060 / 1070 / 1080 series cards.  As with everything, do your own due diligence to evaluate GPU’s based on their hashrate, power requirements, availability and price.
Apart from being one of the most affordable GPUs available on the market today, it is also one of the most economical. While only consuming 150 watts of electric power, this CPU presents a hash rate of 25 MH/s.  When compared to Radeon R9 295X2 and Radeon R9 HD 7990, the cost of power for this GPU is relatively low, at only $0.4320. Its cost per MH/s is $7.96, which is quite impressive compared to most GPUs that are currently on the cryptocurrency market. The return per day for the Radeon RX 480 is $1.21, while its return per year is $440.91. On sale at Amazon now, you will have this GPU and begin mining Ethereum without many problems.
Think about it. It does not sound like much, but it is. If you have a friend that just invests 1 Bitcoin, you instantly get 0.10 Bitcoin. Your friend probably earns much more % on his 1 Bitcoin, depending on the contract he choosed.
1. PPS means payment per share (Pay Per Share). This means that each Share that mines has a specific value for the Ethereum mining network and that is what they pay you during the distribution of the group. If you mine intermittently a certain period of time, this is the type of payment you want.
All transactions in Ethereum (and other cryptocurrencies) are encapsulated within discrete blocks. These blocks are comparable to the batches of transactions which banks send to each other, except in Ethereum they occur every 15 seconds (on average). Blocks are identified by their “height,” starting from 0 and incrementing sequentially until the current block.
Best Cryptocurrency mining pools are many. Mining pools are a pooling of resources by miners. These miners share their processing power through a network and divide rewards equally. This amount will depend on amount of effort they contributed to finding a block. Members are awarded with a share of the award after a valid proof of work is presented. Mining in pools started when mining difficulty increased for slower miners. This method helps with more blocks being generated at a faster pace, instead of randomly every few months.
2. PPLNS stands for Pay Per Last n Shares. This is more of a variable number based on the luck of the pool. So, if the pool gets lucky and mines more blocks in a given timeframe, you’ll get a bigger payout. Of course, if the mining pool is unlucky, you’ll get less of a payout. If you’re mining 24/7 and don’t drop connection frequently, you’ll get roughly 4% more ETH using PPLNS vs PPS for Ethereum mining.
When looking at what people had to say about the ASUS ROG Strix 580 08G AMD Graphics Card they had great things to say. Customers like that the this graphics card has excellent cooling and headroom for overclocking. Folks like that there are two additional 4-pin fan headers, saving you from having to use splitters for extra fan chassis.
Hashflare: Is one of the best and popular cloud mining services that are on the internet in 2017. Their prices for GH/s are just insane and they should be sold out very soon. I personally purchased about 33,500 GH/s ala 33,5 Th/s and it earns me roughly about 80–120 each day.
Good luck and if there are any problems type a comment in at the bottom of this article and the community will help you get started! And that said if anyone has any ideas to make this guide simpler please let us know and we’ll update it as soon as possible! And if this is too difficult you can always follow our other guide on how to cloud mine ethereum – the no hassle easy method to mine ethereum!
Nvidia Corporation is an American technology company based in Santa Clara, California. It designs graphics processing units for the gaming and professional markets, as well as system on a chip units for the mobile computing and automotive market
However, not all boards are created equal. Certain GPU architectures are quicker and more effective than others, and not all cards are loaded with the same type of graphics memory. Naturally, then, we set out to determine for ourselves which models are the most profitable to use for mining, narrowing our focus to some of the most in-demand mainstream solutions from AMD and Nvidia.
I am in the peocess of ordering parts for a good 6 card mining rig. What is the best GPU card i can get now that uses the least amount of power? What is your email? Maybe you could send me an updated list for 2018? Or are all the parts still basically the same as your first list? Thank you so much for all this help!!! ?
Step 3: Now that you have an ethereum address and you have installed and got Ethminer up and running you need to tell ethminer what to do – and this basically means telling ethminer to connect to your mining pool and telling the mining pool where to send your mined altcoins – your address.
Yes in the sense that if difficulty gets too high, the number of Ether coins you get in reward doesn’t offset the cost of electricity and/or cooling.  But usually, when that happens, people tend to stop mining or move to another coin.  Once that happens, difficulty drops down and Ethereum becomes profitable again to mine.
How far will the cryptocurrency madness go? While the number of different coin varieties is always increasing, only a handful have attained enough market capitalization to be truly viable. Ethereum, a blockchain-based distributed computing platform, and its associated token, ether, is one of the most popular.
The My Crypto Buddy calculator is another useful calculator which has the option to include difficulty into the calculations. This means that it decreases your mining profit each month depending on how much the site estimates that the network’s difficulty will go up or down. For example, if the difficulty goes up by 100 GH/s in one month, the calculator will then assume that every following month will incur a difficulty increase of the same amount. This leads to a problem. If in one month the network receives an abnormal  difficulty bump, whether due to a price increase of the currency leading other miners to join the network, or if AMD or NVidia release a new graphics card with a big hash rate boost, the MCB calculator will then use that abnormal value as the absolute value for every month, making the calculator unreliable. Though it is still useful to know that your mining income will decrease every month due to difficulty. This calculator also includes the mining pool fee.
When choosing the CPU, you only need the bare minimum. I wouldn’t recommend getting the absolute cheapest, but one or two points above. The reason for this, is that some extra processing power is useful when setting up and makes reboots slightly quicker. I chose to go with the Intel Celeron G1840.
Even though this burgeoning cryptocurrency suffered certain wild volatility sometime in the past, it has been able to recover and progress well. As at now, enthusiasts and hobbyists are looking for means of downloading this blockchain based, open-source currency platform on high-end desktop PCs. By using an effective hardware for mining Ethereum, you can greatly reduce the amount of electricity that you use, which will, in the end, cut down your costs.
Let’s look at these two words, hash and rate. A hash is a proof of work calculation that you do within a block. Once that block is done you move to the next one. All mined blocks are included within the blockchain. Hash rate implies the number of proof of work calculations in the network per given time. It is usually denoted per second.
GeForce GTX 1070 (Founder’s Edition) is the “Pascal”-architecture GPU that people with limited (though still substantial) budgets have been waiting for. This card is based on the same chip as the big-gun flagship GeForce GTX 1080, but it was cut down a bit to make it more affordable.
Even though there are claims that AMD and NVIDIA were planning to enter the mining market for a while now, and Ether had nothing to do with it, it’s hard to believe it’s a coincidence that the announcement came after Ether mining exploded, shaking the global sales and availability of mining-adequate cards and driving their prices through the roof.
Both Nanopool and Ethermine can run different software to hash for Ethereum. I recommend running Claymore Dual Miner which allows you to hash for both Ethereum, as well as an alternative currency. This is because Ethereum heavily relies on memory usage while the core processor sits idle. While dual mining, the memory of your video card will hash for Ethereum, and the core processor will hash for Decred or Siacoin as an example.
So, mining Ethereum is getting common these days and it seems like Ethereum is going to be the next BTC. Okay, let’s hope for good. We have been researching how to mine Ethereum and which are going to be the best POOLS to mine ETH.
This software was created by the Ethereum team; it is the original ETH miner so you can expect it to be reliable and safe. It is an excellent option for solo mining and it can provide you with a wallet.
There are currently about 2.5 million GPUs mining Ethereum. The rating for efficiency can be determined by dividing the hashrate by the power draw. This is a primary indicator, which shows how profitable your mining operations will be in the future (after the payback period), given that electricity is a fixed, ongoing cost. The more efficient your card (newer cards are usually more efficient), the more profitable it will be once you’ve received the ROI.
My personal recommendation is to keep full control of your wallets and not in the exchanges since exchanges can be hacked and you run the risk of losing your coins forever. You should also keep your coins in an offline storage for maximum security. A useful multi-wallet application which I recommend is the Jaxx Blockchain Wallet. You can store many different types of coins here including popular ones such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. This wallet also gives you full control of your private keys in case you want to move your wallet out of Jaxx. The Jaxx wallet also has mobile apps which allows you to take your cryptos with you anywhere. The Ledger Nano S is another useful multi-wallet, however it is a hardware wallet, so you will have to spend an extra portion of your budget on this. Though it does payoff with it’s increased security.
In Notepad create a file with the below text and save it as a gethsync.bat, in your Ether folder. Launch this bat file every time before you start mining. You can also create a shortcut to it on your homescreen.
The shorter the period, the less accurate the assessment is as the variance has a higher impact. In 2 months I have made 0.36973 ETH with 31Mh, which I am sure is more than expected payout at a larger pool in the same period. In this case the variance benefited us the miners. According to whattomine, in 60 days I should have made 0.204 ETH. So I made 80% more than expected average.
The card should have at least 3 gigs of RAM or it won’t be able to properly mine Ethereum. This is due to the growing DAG file (directed acyclic graph) used in the Ethereum Proof of Work hashing process.
However, bear in mind that mining is a very time and power-consuming procedure. I’ve already started writing my next post on Ethereum mining guide. If you are not willing to dedicate time for Ethereum mining, you can just buy Ethereum.
Install Claymore Dual Miner, edit the config file with your Ethereum address and miner name. Drop a shortcut to the mining software .exe file in your system startup folder if you’d like to auto-start mining when Windows boots up. You can find the system startup folder in Windows 10 by going to: Start > Run  and entering ‘shell:startup’.
