Isn’t there supposed to be some sort of difficulty reset since the PoS change is still so far off? The way I understood it, if the difficulty increases continued at the current rate PoW would become almost impossible before they were ready to switch over to the PoS. So there was going to be some sort of a soft reboot of the difficulty level to breath some life back into the PoW system. Or am I mistaken?

One of the more unique elements of a mining rig is having a computer case that can handle 6 GPUs. Luckily people are making cases designed to hold a lot of graphics cards, an open air case is recommended for keeping the rig running optimal & cool.
You probably know that we want each rig to receive its own local IP so we can monitor and manage each rig individually through specialized software. All of this made me consider the idea of building my own GPU mining rigs for sale. Hopefully, this could help more people to get involved in cryptocurrency mining. As we go into the beginning of January 2018, Ethereum’s difficulty is at lower-than-average levels considering trend we saw coming out of the summer, passing 3000T. And even with the current 1800T, we’re still at more than triple the 500T we saw at the beginning of June. That also compares to an average of around 350T for the month of May. Prices were also much lower then, however.
Good points in this post. Interesting to see I’m not the only one that is thinking about this. The decision to buy a coin should be based on real analysis of the coin. I found that people keep buying coins without have any knowledge of them. This is considered high risk. I’m having the same problem as Majorano. I double checked everything up until this point and I am 95% sure it is all correct. Here is what command prompt is giving me (my .bat file is called Armageddon):
But what do miners get in return for doing all the heavy lifting?  Ether reward coins.  The catch is that mining tends to require more and more power over time, as more people invest in more powerful hardware.  This is called mining difficulty and increases exponentially with the number of people mining and competing for their Ether reward.
Have a question in regards to the CPU, since some coins can be mined via CPU, what would be the consequences to have a good CPU and also mine something with it while the GPU´s also do some mining, then i would get some extra mining power? or am i thinking wrong here?
As we are assembling 6 GPU ETH mining rig you will need 6 of them. If you are low on budget you can always start with 4 of them and periodically increase them. GTX 1070 uses 150W of power which is also great.
Stupid question: The calculations done by the GPUs, do they serve any purpose, or were they just created to be difficult to do. Could the mining crazes be tied to humanitarian causes like distributed computing projects (folding@home, etc.) so that this benefits society in some way, not just a waste of energy.

For a prelude, back in December 2017, I decided to build up to 12 GPU mining rig, using kind of dollar cost averaging – installing a new graphics card once in a month. Now, about 30 days later I have a 3 graphics card mining rig, and I’m dual mining Ether and Siacoin, These 3 cards combined gives me about 41 MH/s hashing power – which translates into some $5-$6 per day (not counting in fee for electricity)
