In den lezten Tagen nimmt jedoch die Mining Difficulty zu, so dass die Ausschüttung länger dauert – die letzte Ausschüttung hat bereit 5 Tage gedauert. Der Return on Invest ist aufgrund des steigenden Bitcoin Kurses gegeben, jedoch werden nun die Ausschüttungen immer geringer.

War es am Anfang noch möglich mit einem Prozessor zu minen, stieg die Schwierigkeit seither derart an, dass GPUs derzeit das einzige sinnvolle Mittel der Wahl sind. Bei den Bitcoins hat dies bereits dazu gehört, dass ein Mining sich nur noch mit speziellen ASICs lohnt.
Great guide, I wish I had this a few months ago before I started mknkn. I’ve gone through all this the hard way which is good but this guide is very clear and straightforward. Having said that I wonder if you would have any idea how to fix the issue I have come across. After mining for two weeks on windows 10 with claymore on nanopool @ 6 x 1070 GeForce. My miner went offline. It says “ cannot write a buffer for DAG” CUDA error 77. It also says “an illegal instruction was encountered” and “calc DAG failed” I have increased the virtual memory but that did not work. My hard drive says it has not 15gb of 110.

Hashes per watt is absolutely not the metric you want to judge a card’s merit on. Case and point: you pick an RX 560 and the ilk as the ultimate card, even at a pittance of hashes per card. Usually, the increased coins earned from the extra hashpower outstrips the extra power usage significantly (up until you hit that steep portion of the performance exponential curve). If you’re scaling anywhere past a few cards or a single rig, 75W vs 100W on a card isn’t your primary concern.

Miners want to avoid the scenario of investing millions of dollars in developing and manufacturing an ASIC only for it to become worthless.
The network effect is absolutely key to the success of any crypto currency. Without a network to backup the currency it is, in essence, useless. The reality is that the threat of a likely switch to Proof of Stake is whats making it uneconomic for anyone to produce asics, as you know in advance they would have a limited lifetime, and the cost of creating the asic is so high ($millions!) you’d want to know you could have a profitable run for awhile, with the switch to PoS, you wont get that.

The Blockchain “locked-in” all the transactional facts into space and time, such that modification will be almost impossible in the open and distributed network. The “space” is the content and “time” is the sequence of contents. Imagine a Block content is the facts about money transfers, the Block’s hash value will provide an unique signature (or digest) to tell if the Block’s content is authentic. If the Block’s content has been tempered in anyway, the hash value will be different so that everyone knows that the content cannot be trusted. Since the Blockchain has been distributed throughout the open network, other untempered copy of the Blockchain can continue to maintain the truth. The tempered Blockchain will simply be ignored.
So I am working through some issues. First I have two drives. C: which is a fairly small SSD drive just for my OS (the blockchain is too big to fit on here) and an E: drive which stores everything else. I finally figured out how to store the blockchain on E: with my coinbase and if I am solo mining it works (probably not going to mine anything but works nontheless). So I am considering pool mining. It’s hard to say realy. GPU-mining is already non profitable for Bitcoin, but obviously is the most profitable type of mining for Ethereum. Samsung has released very little information. In my opinion, it’s unlikely that any ASICs that Samsung develops for Ethereum mining would be much more than a specialized GPU anyway. Add to this that Ethereum is most likely going to be abandoning PoW based consensus in favor of PoS based consensus within the next 2 years, it’s a moot conversation really.
This card generally retails in the $800 range, but mining demand has driven its price to over $1,000 in some locations. If you’re lucky enough to get free power, then this card could be a great choice.

I’m FPGA design engineer, and I’m thinking in learning more about Ethereum to make a FPGA implementation, but I’ve read in many sites that Ethereum is ASIC resistant but I couldn’t find any technical explanation.
Any 64-bit edition of Windows 10 should work fine (a 32-bit OS is not capable of running the Ethereum mining software). Windows 7 and 8 will work as well (as long as they’re 64-bit versions), although you may need to do a bit of extra work to recognize all of your GPUs if you’re running more than 4. The guide is written assuming that you have Windows 10, but the steps for 7/8 should be pretty similar.

Yes you won’t get everything initially. I wanted to sell this program first for little donation but over time it started to look like a worse idea. The main issue was that noone want to buy some random program which claims to do xy.
When a currency (Ethereum) is resistant to ASIC mining, the average person can afford to buy a GPU if they don’t already have one. This allows everyone to verify the network instead of a select few with lots of power.
Je nach Kurs und Können kann es sich sogar lohnen, gar nicht zu Minen, sondern einfach mit der Währung zu handeln. Ether bei niedrigem Kurs kaufen und dann bei hohem Kurs wieder verkaufen, kann sich lohnen.
