If you see 0/0, the DAG probably isn’t loaded properly, or you were impatient with geth –rpc and it didn’t sync up, now you’re working on some old block, hashing away, because you didn’t sync properly.
Because of the way Ethereum hashes work, miners need to have systems with graphics cards with specialized graphics processing units (GPUs) and a lot of memory. Experts are recommending graphics cards with at least 3GB of RAM to get started today. Those high-powered graphics cards can be expensive, and the popularity of Ethereum mining has led to a shortage in the supply.
Conversely, if you are up for it, CPU mining can be done. Just type in ‘ETHMINER’ then the enter key to start the process. The building of a DAG is still required in this step after which Geth takes over communication with Ethminer.
The next coin to embrace GPU mining is going to do quite well I think. Since Ethereum is ready to launch in the next months the stars have aligned in that it is launching at a time coincident with the rolling out of the first wave of Scrypt ASICs. If it becomes GPU minable it will have an instant support network of well oiled GPU transaction processors eager to switch to a more profitable network. Since Ethereum is also a revolution to the 1.0 cryptos this instant acceptance by large amounts of processors should only serve to assist it in its adoption and notoriety in a bitcoin-centric environment. It was this phenomenon that gave legs to the non-revolutionary Litecoin.

It’s hard to say realy. GPU-mining is already non profitable for Bitcoin, but obviously is the most profitable type of mining for Ethereum. Samsung has released very little information. In my opinion, it’s unlikely that any ASICs that Samsung develops for Ethereum mining would be much more than a specialized GPU anyway. Add to this that Ethereum is most likely going to be abandoning PoW based consensus in favor of PoS based consensus within the next 2 years, it’s a moot conversation really.
Today we are going to show you how to mine Zcash with your CPU and GPU on Windows. We are going to use two miners (Software) for each type of hardware: Nicehash miner for CPU and the claymore miner for GPU.
Basically to be honest I want just a little something I dont want to rob you especially if you like this program I want to use it and profit from it most so in the end I would get one session daily that is 36/72 seconds based on what you mine.
Ethereum uses a different hashing algorithm to Bitcoin, which makes it incompatible with the special hashing hardware (ASICs) developed for Bitcoin mining. Ethereum’s algorithm is known as Ethash. It’s a memory-hard algorithm; meaning it’s designed to resist the development of Ethereum-mining ASICs. Instead, Ethash is deliberately best-suited to GPU-mining.
While cryptocurrency is typically a safer investment than many other things, there are some bad apples in the industry that mean we have to be on the lookout when we trust someone with our coins or hardware. If you mine locally, you don’t have to worry about a company just disappearing off the face of the Earth with your hard earned profits or hardware. On the flip side, you also need to be conscious of your own security and make sure your mining rig(s) are protected or insured against theft or hardware failure.
We also have one photo of this upcoming GPU. As you can see, the card features no display ports, as well as it comes with no backplane that would allow us to attach the card to a rig. This is quite unfortunate and hopefully other manufacturers will consider adding a backplane to their designs – for instance, Zotac cards apparently do include a backplane.
Recently there is a good source for the NoFee version that is constantly uploaded to the newest version, and from my testing I get exact 1.1% higher hashrate compared to the official Claymore release (calculated by 24hour comparison of found shares on the mining pool I’m using – nanopool)
Although not as potentially powerful as an ASIC, GPUs are more flexible in their application. The GPU is the Graphics Processing Unit. It’s the chip on your graphics card that does repetitive calculations, often for processing graphics. While we’ll discuss the use of GPUs in mining, they’re often used in gaming computers for “smooth decoding and rendering of 3D animations and video.”
When it comes to the world of Bitcoin mining, this is one of the popular names. It has stayed in the market for about two years {released in August 2015} and so many miners use it at the moment. What makes it loved so much is the fact that it can produce about 0.15 Bitcoins just in one month. Its power consumption might not be the best, but it is available at an affordable price. With a power efficiency of 0.25 J/GH and a power consumption of 1293-watts, this Bitcoin miner has a hash rate of 4.73 TH/s.
The current CPU mining world is far less democratic of a process than the GPU world, in my opinion. For example, I have access to many spare computers but I don’t even bother CPU mining because friends I know spin up dozens and dozens of AWS instances. The current CPU world is dominated by fewer individuals than any real (or hype) GPU based coin. One coin had thousands mining and was literally dominated by 2-3 people getting 98% of all coins.
Tons of programs exist for you to mine in a pool or solo one of the most popular programs is Claymore’s GPU Miner. We found Claymore’s to be the easiest to use with a mining pool plus great performance results as well.
We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).
I reckon just try running Claymore and see what it says. I’m not up to date on Ethereum mining but I heard that the ETH blockchain has gotten too big to sync normally. I don’t know how miners are handling that but presumably some kind of pruning or other solution is used.
Our comparison includes graphics cards armed with modern GPUs: AMD is represented by Ellesmere, Baffin, Lexa, and Hawaii (that’s the Radeon R9 390, Radeon RX 470/480, and Radeon RX 550/560/570/580), while Nvidia-based GP106/GP107 cards include the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, GTX 1060 3GB, and GTX 1060 6GB.
you get the error that the ROM file could not be read, for that you will need to replace the Riser your GPU is connected to, or  you will need to connect that GPU directly to the motherboard or use  a DDU to reinstall the current driver and install the driver back on, if that does not work try to download Atiflash 2.74 Version and try using this instead.
The AMD Radeon R9 NANO gets an impressive 27 MH/s, but that’s all you can really get on that model as AMD doesn’t allow you to overclock the HBM memory and if you reduce the power usage at all the hashrate drops as well. This 175W TDP card has good performance, but at $515 it will take a longer time to recoup your money. You can actually buy two Radeon RX 480/580 cards for this price and overclock them to get up to 27 MH/s and reduce the power usage/voltage to get about 40-50W lower power use per card. The AMD Radeon R9 390 gets an impressive 30 MH/s in stock form, but the cards 275W TDP makes is less desirable.
Hashes per watt is absolutely not the metric you want to judge a card’s merit on. Case and point: you pick an RX 560 and the ilk as the ultimate card, even at a pittance of hashes per card. Usually, the increased coins earned from the extra hashpower outstrips the extra power usage significantly (up until you hit that steep portion of the performance exponential curve). If you’re scaling anywhere past a few cards or a single rig, 75W vs 100W on a card isn’t your primary concern.
You can follow Steps 2-4 to download the official Ethereum Wallet, but you do need to wait for the full Ethereum blockchain to sync.  To skip this and get going much faster, jump down to Step 5 and create a wallet using MyEtherWallet instead.
Based on the release notes from the company, the driver will boost performance for “Blockchain Compute Workloads,” thus bolstering the efficiency of digital currency mining computers that use a graphics processing unit (GPU) for mining.
The Frontier tool is called Geth (the old english third person singular conjugation of “to go”. Quite appropriate given geth is written in Go. Geth is a multipurpose command line tool that runs a full Ethereum node implemented in Go. It offers three interfaces: the command line subcommands and options, a Json-rpc server and an interactive console.
If you’d like to Solo mine, you will need to be in sync with the blockchain. To do this, you will need to download Geth and save it to a folder such as C:Ether. Then open a command prompt, and navigate to this folder using the cd command. First, if you’re not using a local wallet, you will need to sync the blockchain. The quickest way is using the command:
