Anyway, as of Claymore v8.0, you can choose between mining Ethereum alone, Ethereum & Decred, Ethereum & Siacoin, Ethereum & Lbry. Based on something said by an old-time Bitcoiner in a video (I’m no expert on altcoins), I’d say Decred is the best choice. Remember these are just out of the box numbers. Using a custom BIOS designed to mining performance will lead to better results, so keep that in mind. What you’ve seen here should serve as an accurate baseline however.

It’s more muscle than any miner needs and will surely gobble up a bit more power while mining than is desired. But it’s the simplest of systems we have on hand that’s ready to mine 24/7. CPU horsepower is much less important in a mining rig, so low-power CPUs are preferable at this time.
@jstefanop Yes, I understood that part And it is indeed a slick improvement to the current implementation. I was asking @work about the ASIC “on the fly” DAG calculation in the kernel inner loop that I *think* he was putting forward as an ASIC alternative to doing random memory accesses to fetch the DAG bits from the whole DAG stored in GPU memory. Sorry for the long sentence.
