For example, if this were Jan 2016 and we were mining ETH, and spent $3000 for a rig and supplies that produced us (for academic purposes) 30 ETH through the end of the year. That $8.22 price on 12/31 means our mining got us $246. Not profitable; go back and look at the historical posts saying as much when people asked if mining was “worth it” and everyone said to not even try it. Those same 30 ETH are worth $7560 today (assumes not selling at the peak, not mining beyond 30 ETH). All of a sudden, it was retroactively “worth it” to mine, and those naysayers were wrong. All that happened was hodling.
Profits for miners have steadied out over the last few weeks since the price of ETH doubled. As of this writing, a 150 Mh/s 6 GPU mining rig consuming roughly 1,000W of electricity at a rate of $0.1 per KW/h is turning almost .13 ETH per week, which is far less ETH than could be earned earlier this year, but still a non-negligible profit of as much as $350 per month at current prices.
There are four components of mining for Ethereum. Here we address the first which is mining hardware. Then there’s Ethereum Mining Software, Ethereum Wallets and Ethereum Mining Pools. We will take a closer look at each of them in a dedicated chapter.
You can donwload EthOs which is a specifically designed APP for Ethereum Mining – you can read more about this here but its a great way of having a bespoke mining system for your rigs and GPU’s to manage them!
All of this made me consider the idea of building my own GPU mining rigs for sale. Hopefully, this could help more people to get involved in cryptocurrency mining. Also, it is way easier for me to work on the rigs on my own and then deliver you a fully-functional product rather than doing the magic remotely.
In this guide, we explain what each field of the Portfolio means and we also list the most frequently asked question and respective answers. Feel free to ask questions in the comment section as we will add these to the FAQ list.
So with no other alt-coins and no GPU PoW, your options are to try and sell on a depressed market, or to actually realise the actual comput value of having kickass super computers in your lounge room.
But now, with difficulty going through the roof with everyone mining every card they can get their hands on, and coin prices seemingly dropping 5-10% a day….I think the ship either has sailed or at least is pulling out of the dock. They could gamble and win if coin prices spike again, but I feel bad for people jumping in now since most will be lucky to break even.
Slush approach, or Bitcoin Pooled Mining (BPM), is score-based. Older shares, receive lower weight than most recent shares. This has the advantage of reducing the chances of cheating in a round of mining.
1) Motherboard. I do not like the Asus B250 Mining Expert. Sure it supports 19 cards on one board which sounds great like it will save you $$ on additional memory, cpu, hard drive etc. However, to get it running with 19 cards you have to have 32GB of memory and use specific Nvidia P106 mining cards which don’t even seem to be available. I haven’t used the ASRock so I can’t comment, however I really like the Biostar TB250 motherboard. The Biostar will run 10 cards using Linux without any special cards or endless tweaking and technical knowledge. I currently have 2 Rigs of 10 Nvidia 1060s each running stable, 24 hours a day using mainly the directions found on this website.
