Does the Ethereum Mining Pool pay Uncles? And furthermore, what is an Ethereum Mining Uncle? No, we aren’t talking about your family tree here. Again, without getting too technical, Uncles, in Ethereum mining, are orphaned network blocks that miners (mining pools) are incentivized to include in their mining. Uncle mining is rewarded because it helps secure the Ethereum network by making the network “heavier”. More information about Uncles can be found here.
Ethereum mining is a process that requires a lot of computer power and work. To mine, you are participating in a cryptocurrency network that is driven by a group of your peers. The miner (you) will be rewarded for solving complicated math problems. While you aren’t actually doing the math for these problems, your computer uses mining applications to solve them.
The platform offers a smart and convenient way for you to invest your money. They provide amicable solutions to the novice and veteran ether miners alike. It is the first multi-algorithm ether mining service and offers an alternative to those who would want to engage in mining Altcoin and Bitcoin.
Litecoin is closely based on bitcoin — they’re built on the same underlying code — but with a few distinctive tweaks. The central difference is that Litecoin is mined using the Scrypt algorithm, which is rooted in mathematical computations that are simpler than those used by bitcoin’s SHA-256 algorithm. As a result, in contrast to the specialized, super-expensive, energy-intensive mining rigs required to mine bitcoin, you can mine Litecoin with a decent laptop or desktop PC, especially if it’s tricked out with a powerful graphics card.
Hello, I did everything but at the end this message appear in the cmd: ETH: Stratum – connecting to ‘eu1.ethermine.org’ port 4444 No pool specified for Decred! Change your password: Use the below commands to change both the root, and main ethOS user passwords. This is important especially if you’re planning to remotely access through SSH. Otherwise, your machine could be maliciously taken over.
If you want the absolute highest hashrates you can currently get, then the NVIDIA Titan V is the master at a whopping 82 MH/s in Ethereum mining! Of course this card costs a whopping $3000 each.  Six Titan V GPUs in a miner would get you a 492 MH/s rate while setting you back a cool $18,000 USD.  And with a power demand of 250 watts you’ll be mining for 17 months before you break even. But then you don’t care about profit right?
Building an Ethereum mining rig is really like growing your own money tree.  The rig will run and crank away and create wealth (in digital currency) while you sit back and reap the rewards.  It takes a little tech savviness but anyone can learn how to build their own rigs.
It is estimated that this pool generates approximately 7.6% of the hash rates on the ethereum network. They calculate their charges for rewards based on the block finding fee, transaction fee and the bonuses and incentives. Most importantly, the pools its servers across the US, Asia, and Europe. The good thing about such servers is that they offer you a redundant environment for mining.
A password will be of you at this stage, and extra care should be taken here. Be sure about your password, write it down if possible and be sure to type it in carefully. Press enter once again after typing in the password and voila! Your new account is created.
In Ethereum Mining, the difficulty is adjusted dynamically so that the network produces one block in every 12 seconds on an average. Thanks to the synchronization of the system, it is not possible to rewrite history or maintain a fork except the individual attempting to do so has over half of the mining power in the network.
A nonce is essentially a binary number which produces a distinctive hash value. The network sets a definite target hash value for every new block occurring in the blockchain and all the miners computing on the network attempt to guess the particular nonce that will produce that value. This is a vicious cycle until the right one is eventually found, which is proof of work and the miner is awarded the block (receives five ether) and the process is rollback.
For Windows, the Genoil miner has proven to be the most effective, and I’ll show you how to set this up. However, if you’re interested in other alt-coins, then you should also consider looking at Claymore miner.
Unlike Bitcoin, which is now mostly mined using specialized chips (ASICs), Ethereum was built from the ground up to be friendly to GPU mining. That led mining-related sales of graphics cards to soar in recent months as Ether prices took off.
I’ve had several people ask about the NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB . Though not my first choice, this GPU can be overclocked to mine at 24.7 Mh/s while only pulling 80 watts of power.  Just like the GTX 1070 and the Rx 580, you can find this GPU conveniently sold in a six pack here, here and here for building a mining rig.
Thanks to both of you, I have checked my worker stats and I am mining at around 16.5~MHs, I have a GTX970, I think this hashrate is roughly whats expected of it. One thing that I do not have is an 0x (to signify a hexadecimal number) before my address, is this something I need? I havent had any payouts yet, but I think dwarfpool pays out at 1 Ether anyway
To minimize the disruptions to your mining and settings you may want to also disable Windows Updates.  If you feel more secure leaving them on, you can do so and just understand there are very frequent updates that sometimes reboot your system without you’re involvement and therefore stop your mining.
Is Ethereum mining profitable? This is one of the most asked questions about ethereum mining. The response is not so simple and clear because not all the parameters can be anticipated. Profitability depends on the hashrate and on the price of hardware and electricity but also on Eth price and on the how many other people are mining in the network. While most of the parametes are steady the last 2 are can change from on day to another.
This course can be taken by anyone who is interested in understanding blockchain technology, and how it relates to finance and fintech. Professionals working within finance may derive even more benefit from this course.
One major surprise that has the potential to change the cryptocurrency scene forever is the recent announcement made by both AMD and NVIDIA, in which they indicated that they are looking to officially focus on the mining segment, and release mining-optimized cards. At a first glance, this may not seem as much of a news piece, but if you give it a bit of thought, the implications are huge: first and foremost, it indicates an official acknowledgement and support of cryptocurrencies and their importance, which, coming from two of the biggest companies in the tech industry, will stabilize the currencies and allow for wider adoption; secondly, by designing mining-specific hardware, AMD and NVIDIA are supporting mining enthusiasts and making mining more affordable, thus making it more accessible to the general public as well.
By far the most powerful Ethereum miner, the Radeon R9 295X2 has a hash rate of 46 MH/s, drawing 500 W from the wall. This means you’ll see a yearly return of $1,454.18 USD annually per card. That’s right, over $1,400 per card. Some might think the GTX 1080 is a more powerful alternative, but they’d be wrong. If you want to generate serious revenue by mining Ethereum, the R9 295 X2 is your card of choice.
To get started you will need to obtain a mining wallet to collect your digital currency, mining software, and of course your trusty PC equipped with a worthy “miner” or GPU, or better yet multiple GPUs. NiceHash is a simple software package that will get you up and running, but there are a myriad of mining app choices and wallet types out there to choose from, with lots of guides on the net to educate yourself. We’re going to be focusing on the hardware and mining performance side of things in this piece, however.
Well, the mining pool looks exactly as same as the Ethpool. However, there are a few differences in features. Talking about the features, well the ethermine.org comes with a Real-time PPLNS payout scheme. Also, it offers an accurate hash rate reporting so you can keep an update. Just like the Ethpool this mining pool also pays all the blocks, transaction fees.
Mist also contains Geth, a popular command line interface. You may choose to get only the latest Geth app for your system, it’s able to perform all the functions of Mist (and more) from the command line. Geth (an abbreviation for “go-ethereum”) allows you and your miner to interact more directly with the Ethereum network but Geth definitely requires some programming knowledge.
