Correct. As a miner, you are making money of block awards if they are still happening and on transaction fees paid as part of all transactions transmitted over the network. We are the ones that reach a consensus on the correct status of the blockchain and pass new blocks to the chain. If any old blocks are tampered with, the mining nodes will see it (the hash value of old blocks will change) and the tampered blocks will be rejected and overwritten with the correct data from other nodes.

Below are the best Nvidia’s mining cards currently available on the market. It’s important to note that we excluded Older Nvidia cards with 4 GBs (or less) of VRAM because their performance was usually bad, and it will only worsen more as epochs advance.
Recurring costs are fixed costs such as rent or internet. This value, along with power costs are subtracted from your revenue to give profit. Higher recurring costs mean lower profits and a longer break-even time.
At one time, AMD GPUs were the best choice for mining. This is because they produced quite a bit of hash power for a relatively low price. The only issue is that now that mining has become so popular, they are constantly sold out or overpriced. That’s why I chose Nvidia cards for my rig.
Water – Through Wolkem’s efforts of practicing systematic water harvesting, water conservation, de-silting, by repairing of natural water channels, construction of water wells, water huts and anicuts to canalize water streams to villages, water availability is increased for use by local inhabitants and animals.
The most ideal mining hardware provides high hashing power at optimum power consumption. This explains why Ethereum miners prefer Graphic Processing Units over Central Processing units. GPUs are known to deliver higher hashing efficiency as compared with CPUs.
These books have been labeled as “potboilers” by some reviewers, and I have to admit that the personal stories of the fictional characters are sometimes endlessly convoluted to the point of being soap operas. Nevertheless, the author’s excellent writing and her ability to make you care about her characters keep you reading. (I am now on book 3 of the second trilogy.) The heated personal lives of the fictional characters sell the reader on the history, so the books are never “preachy.”
Hi T. It’s really hard to make any definite claims about the profitability of mining, as it depends on how Bitcoin price and difficulty will move in the medium term… Try out the calculators with various price / difficulty scenarios which you consider likely. It seems China is clamping down on mining so difficulty might drop for a while until other countries can pick up the slack… but that’s just a guess. It seems to me that the S9 will soon be eclipsed by the DragonMint miner, which claims be 30% more efficient. However, we’re still waiting for the… Read more »
Ethereum Mining can be done in the comfort of your home. It requires script writing and some knowledge of the command prompt. It is quite easy and exciting once the process is broken down into manageable steps.
Also, @dlehenky and @work , do you have public Skypes? I want to make a conversation with you guys- I’m trying to do something much bigger, and you two seem to be very knowledgable in everything Ethereum.
Traditionally, when buying a car, you go to the dealership. Once there, you have to negotiate a price. Then you have to go to the bank and have a guaranteed check or something of that sort drafted. After that you have to go back to the dealership with this guaranteed check.
I have purchased a 60MH/s Litecoin contract. The first payout was worth about $3.60. At this rate I should get my investment back in about 220 days, which is good, considering that the contract runs 730 days. This means 510 days of pure profit. I think it is a pretty good deal (lets hope Litecoin goes up further!).
Now copy and paste the wallet.dat to your backup destination. It’s also recommended to backup your wallet before installing a new version of the wallet software from dogecoin.com. You don’t need to do anything else when upgrading apart from installing the new version from the site.
Thanks, Steven, very helpful. Not too sure about the DragonMint machine (lots of negative press out there) but Slush does sound reputable. Think my partner and I will jump in and mine Bitcoin and LiteCoin with one machine each.
The next step is to setup pool mining, as solo-mining is unlikely to make you any Ethereum unless you have a warehouse full of GPUs. Your first step will be to choose an Ethereum mining pool. There are plenty to choose from but we recommend Nanopool or Etheremine. The home page or help section of a mining pool site most likely contains instructions on how to mine on their pool using the popular Claymore miner.
The diff change value is calculated by looking at the current difficulty and comparing it to the 12 hour moving average of the difficulty one month ago. For smaller coins the diff change can sometimes be inaccurate due to a wildly fluctuating difficulty.

Also due to the razor thin margins of the industry, and the huge amounts of volatility involved, make sure you are aware that some Companies, even if they are legitimate (or trying to be), can go out of business in the blink of an eye. Caveat Emptor!
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 231,642 GH/s and using a ETH – USD exchange rate of 1 ETH = $ 712.07. These figures vary based on the total network hash rate and on the ETH to USD conversion rate. Block reward is fixed at 3 ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.12 per kWh. Network hash rate varies over time, this is just an estimation based on current values.
The 168 MH/s Ethereum Mining Rig is provided by MineShop. It holds 6 AMD graphic cards, the AMD RX 470. These mining rigs are specially developed and reconfigured for Ethereum mining, making them the most efficient and cheapest for mh and power usage per mh Ethereum miner on MineShop. You can also mine Ethereum through a cloud mining contract with Hashflare or Genesis Mining.
The screens also provide extra security by verifying and displaying important wallet details.  The hardware wallet also supports a wide support of coins (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Zcash, Dash, Stratis) and most importantly an attractive price tag.  HOW TO SETUP AND CONFIGURE A LEDGER NANO S
The Radeon R9 295X2 is currently the most popular GPU when it comes to mining Ethereum. It offers a hash-rate of 46 MH/s and is the industry leader when it comes to hashing power. The R9 295X2 consumes a power of 500W. This GPU is in high demand and tends to get sold out as soon as it goes on stock. It comes with an 8GB GDDR5 RAM.
The main part of the mining hardware is the graphics processing unit (GPU). Here is a link to a site that allows you to compare the different GPUs – http://www.mininghwcomparison.com/list/index.php?brand=both . Type “Ethereum” in the filter.
All mining activities run on the GPUs so you won’t need a very powerful CPU to run the rig. Your CPU won’t be used during mining so a lower power chip is prefered. An Intel i3 or Celeron chip will work just fine in a LGA 1150 motherboard.
