“ethereum mining to end”

Mining runs the transaction and ledger network these coins run on. Thus miners are being paid to help run a financial network with their spare processing power. Anyone watch the show “Silicon Valley”? This is the future of computing – Mass Decentralized networks.

Notice the wave pattern in the chart? Our guess is its claymore’s dev fee kicking in at that time. We also seemed to had some internet outage (and that is the most annoying thing ever – no internet, no mining)
I have only been doing this a little over a week, but have seen real deposits of ZEC going into my accounts daily – and so far in amounts that are profitable. I noticed some Genesis Mining identified deposits to others on My Ether Wallet a while back and realized that a lot of people used this service to get started in acquisition of coin. It is great so far.

HashFlare has been involved with cryptocurrencies since the inception of Bitcoin and has years of experience in the field of mining cryptocurrencies. This Estonian company is now also offering Ethereum mining plans with no maintenance fees. Also, the minimum order amount and the hash rate is very low (100 KH/s with the price of 2.2 USD), so you can start with low investment and see how it goes. Use Hashflare discount code 2018 HF17QWL22TR4 for a 4% discount (over 1000$ only).
I thought I’d see a well-done article, covering the basics, ESPECIALLY hashes per watts in a table… that thing is ESSENTIAL whenever you use the word “efficient” when talking about mining cryptocurrencies!
Ethereum is currently the second largest cryptocurrency in the world and not only is it growing quickly, it’s also becoming more widely used. Ethereum is projected to grow tremendously in 2018 and mining is a great way to generate passive income.
The Radeon R9 295X2 has by far the highest hash rate (46.0 MH/s) of the Ethereum GPUs on the market and will cost you $600. It has a power cost per day of about $1.44, a return per day of about $1.61 and a cost per MH/s of $13.04. This gives a return per year of $586.43.
GPU or graphics Processing unit are mostly used for gaming and other high end works. But after introduction cryptocurrency mining, miners started using GPU to mine cryptocurrency like bitcoins, ethereum, litecoins etc.
My single most important piece of advice to miners is to make sure you have a near 100% uptime, because if your miner shuts down while you at school, work, overnight, or while you’re on holiday you will lose out on gaining a large portion of your profits. One of the easiest ways to secure your stability is to have safe overclocks, and by testing your rigs. Instability can often be caused by too high of an overclock, or by faulty risers. I also highly recommend the EthOS Linux Distro. EthOS is an operating system specifically made for mining Ethereum and other cryptos alike, such as ZCash, Monero, and many more. The OS is extremely stable and if your rig crashes, the OS will boot up and start mining straight away. The OS also supports up to 16 AMD or NVidia graphics card, which is a huge step up from Windows, which supports a maximum of 8.
GPUs are up to 200 times faster and more effective when it comes to mining Ethereum than compared to mining via CPUs. GPUs with at least 3GB of RAM are recommended for mining. In the past this used to be 2GB but as the difficulty rises you would need more powerful machine. The best GPUs for mining Etheruem currently feature 8GB of Graphic RAM.
Awesome beginners build guide for an energy efficient mining rig! I have read through it several times and finally purchased the parts you recommended. However, I am not sure what power brick/adapter I need to get to maximize the potential of the picoPSU you recommended: https://www.amazon.com/Mini-Box-picoPSU-160-XT-Power-Mini-ITX-Supply/dp/B005TWE6B8/ref=as_at?creativeASIN=B005TWE6B8&linkCode=w50&tag=mak041-20&imprToken=jre1Yx45yo8HG1jqJ7Y0zw&slotNum=0
I’m very happy with the mining service provided by Genesis Mining. When I signed up I paid via wire transfer and the payment was processed quickly such that mining started as soon as possible. The Web interface is clear an nice and payouts are done swiftly as well. All in all a very nice way to mine some crypto currencies!
Power related fees can be another obstacle; billing practices and procedures vary in regards to electricity, exceedingly more between different countries, but pricing is commonly calculated in kilowatts per hour. Ideally, having no or low energy costs would be preferable, renewable energy comes to mind, as do other shadowy options (miners in less regulated communities often siphon off of the grid directly, what basically amounts to mining with no overhead).
We hope you find this guide useful!  If you run into any issues or have questions, please comment below and we will try to help.  Note, we are not covering more advanced steps of mining such as overclocking and undervolting, bios flashing, remote access and monitoring, or Dual mining.  If you want If interested in taking your mining to the next level from here, sign up for Crypto Mining Academy, where I go into massive depth and detail at every step of this process in a comprehensive course.  Happy Mining!
Mining is the glue that holds Eethereum’s ‘decentralized app store’ together by ensuring that it comes to consensus on each change to any of the applications (dapps) running on the network. Essentially mining helps verify and validate transactions within Ethereum’s network.
The rest of the computer doesn’t matter much. In general, you want a case that can adequately cool either an RX 460 or RX 470 — but GPUs include their own cooling mechanism. The basic idea behind a case is that it shouldn’t impede the GPU’s ability to cool itself. Some people even choose to do open air builds. An extreme few daisy chain together multiple 470 GPUs on Ikea storage shelves!
The reason this is so important is GPU’s are selling out at insane prices now because the masses are seeing that you get way more revenue than cost of electricity. But it’s highly possible that at current difficulty trends – even if difficulty plateaus – GPU’s bought today will never pay for themselves without a serious increase in ETH price (in which case just buy ETH instead of mine). So I’m unconvinced that mining is “profitable in 2018” – it’s profitable for people who already have cards yes, and for them they may have enough mined from earlier months that overall it is profitable for them too. More disturbingly – this trend of misunderstanding what “profit” actually is is only driving the difficulty higher as folks naively think they’ll actually make money at current prices and difficulty trends.
Now, what about the furniture? We have invited a specialist to discuss what we need in the office – stuff such as a coffee table, a desk for monitors/laptops, some shelves for documents/invoices and a couple more things. Check future pictures to see what furniture we’ve picked ?
Mining Ethereum at this point requires a 3GB GPU because of the size of the DAG file. DAG stands for Directed Acyclic Graph and is essentially a database of the existing blockchain. In order to mine the next block, your hardware needs to be aware of all the existing blocks. As of this writing, the DAG is just over 2GB, and it only gets bigger with each new step, which happens at least once a week. The vast majority of miners load the entire DAG into VRAM. Without sufficient capacity, the GPU can’t even begin mining operations.
To minimize the disruptions to your mining and settings you may want to also disable Windows Updates.  If you feel more secure leaving them on, you can do so and just understand there are very frequent updates that sometimes reboot your system without you’re involvement and therefore stop your mining.
The other advantage is that you don’t have to listen to the noise that it creates. Adding all of this together it would seem pretty logical to opt for a mining contract unless the joy of mining was for the joy of mining itself. Although you might just get a smaller slice of profitability by doing it for yourself – would it be worth it – we don’t think so…
At high level, the goal of buffered pooled mining is to allow each participant in a mining pool to draw ethereum on demand from their current and future hashrate contribution without waiting for a long or unpredictable amount of time. This quantity of ethereum is large enough for many programming purposes, such as micropayments.
5. A PSU or Power Supply Unit – Power supply units come in many sizes and this can trip some people up when they are looking at calculating what size they need. You need to sum up the power consumption of your GPU and all the other components and make sure your power supply has the capability to supply more! So if you have two GPU’s that consumes 220 Watts and other components that need 250 Watts then you can get away with a 750 Watt power supply unit as the total power needed is only 690Watts.
i’m mining ETH and ETC for about 8 months now…and there was some period where ETH was low on price…but still i managed to cover my electricity bill…i’m paying around 180$ for elec…so at this price of ETH + DCR is very profitable to mine…around $10k/year…minus $2600 electricity cost’s…it’s still +$7k profit…this is half of my year’s sallary…
Both design styles end up looking very similar to one another. That’s because cryptocurrency mining focuses on two parts: the graphics card and the power supply. The rest of the computer can be little more than scrap heap pulls.
Crypterra – new company, offering mostly 2-year proftable cloud mining contracts. Update on Crypterra: Looks like they are a scam, the website disappeared and SSL certificate was revoked. We were paid the last time on january 20, 2018. Discussion here. Before adding them to our website we did a lot of emailing with them and somehow they convinced us that they are a legit company. We also received regular payments. For more detalis you can contact us [2018-01-25].
If you live in a hot region and use air conditioning, you actually consume more than double the listed electricity because the heat being produced in the computer has to be subsequently removed by the air conditioning, which is not 100% efficient. Texas might seem to be attractive for mining because the electricity is cheap, but if you do the full energy calculation you’ll realize it’s only worthwhile in the winter.
Kindly notice! Hashgains do not give you any trading advice. Before availing our services, do your research and get answers to your questions in order to find out whether cryptocurrency mining is legal in your state, country, province or not.
To connect all of the GPUs to your rig you’ll need a motherboard with at least 6 PCIe slots. You’ll see most motherboard offer PCI x16 and PCIe x1 slots but the risers will connect into a PCIe x16 or x1 slot (this doesn’t affect the mining hashrates).
