Bitmain Technologies’ BM1382 calculates hashes per clock cycle (Hz), while their more efficient BM1384 calculates 55 hashes per clock cycle. Similarly, while these hashes per clock cycle are spot-on for the claims regarding the number of cores, BitFury’s BF756C55 is claimed to have 756 cores, but yields around 11.6 hashes per clock cycle. This is because the reference to cores sometimes mean different things, and certain designs result in less straightforward calculation[1]

There is some delay so don’t worry if you don’t see anything after you just start mining. Wait at least 20min before trying to check your account since it doesn’t create a webpage for you until you get a share.
The full explanation in that post is very good and goes through all the various parameters. To just get straight to mining Ethereum you need to create a new file to run the miner. Extract the zip and create a new file called ClaymoreMine.bat (or whatever you want) and put the following command in it all on one line with YOUR_ETH_ADDRESS and RIG_NICKNAME subbed out. RIG_NICKNAME can be anything; it’s just an identifier so you know which miner it is.
GPU CORE OVERCLOCK/UNDERVOLT – we need to do two things to the GPU core. First, we will need to set P7 clock rate and its voltage. You need to remember that the GPU’s core is not used to mine ethereum a lot, it just helps the memory to do the hashrate. The GPU’s core generates the most heat on the GPU and uses the most power, so our intention is to push the GPU’s core down as much as possible to save power and lower the temperature on the GPU without losing ethereum hashrate, or lose some hashrate because we save more on the power cost reduction than the small ethereum hashrate drop. It would be very recommended to have Wattmeter to make your own calculations to see what’s more worth for you. In general most optimal clock rates for ALL GPU’s is around 1150mhz. Some RX 570 can even work at around 1100mhz without losing any, or very low hashrate reduction on ethereum and that will reduce  the power draw drastically. Some RX 580 need 1200mhz to have the optimum hashrate, but most of them work best at 1150mhz. In general never go above 1200mhz because it will start to use much more power,  and you can will that with your Wattmeter. For the Voltage part, it’s best to keep them at 850mV. You can try to reduce the voltage to 825mV or 800mV if you are going to keep the GPU’s at 1100mhz, but it is possible to get a freeze or crash. The best way for you is to test your hashrate with those values described and see what effect it has for your GPU to run it at 1100mhz, 1150mhz, 1200mhz with 850mV voltage in all cases. Then compare the power draw with the hashrate and calculate what’s more profitable for you. In most cases 1150mhz/ 850mV is optimal.
so this “long lasting ecosystem through the development of a inclusive community of entrepreneurs, developers and investors” … excludes me because I’m not an “investor” with cash upfront? or because the time I spend developing goes to… I don’t know, paying my rent?
The tool GPU-Z shows the workload of graphics cards in the system. While you are mining, this should constantly show 100%. This means the system will get hotter than during normal use. Good cooling is therefore a must. (Source: heise online)
As for those obsessed with how the GPU miners just go where the profit is, coins be damned etc. please don’t forget that the reason we have bitcoin, litecoin and all the others is because it is profitable to mine them. I am just as much a crypto zealot as the next guy but day to day I check on my rigs and make sure they are running 100% because if they are not it hurts my bottom line. I’ll leave my house to fix a problem at midnight because, especially the way things are now, I don’t want to lose a whole nights worth of productivity. If I was just doing it to be nice, because I believe in the cause, to be frank a down rig would wait til morning.
There are other video cards like the higher end R9 series from AMD that I’ve chosen to not include here simply because they are an older generation of video cards and use a lot of power by comparison. I’ll be updating this list of GPU mining video cards regularly as new cards from both AMD and Nvidia are released.
What we are doing here with this article isn’t going to be a tutorial or guide, we’re not endorsing or encouraging the mining, trading, buying, or selling of Ethereum.  We are simply taking a look at the current landscape of GPU mining hashing performance, power draw, and current profitability of taking part in Ethereum mining.
This direct comparison between these configurations shows just how powerful a Polaris 10 setup is when mining, even edging out the 1080+1070 config.  Take the upfront cost of $400 (think MSRP folks) for the two Polaris cards or more than double for the Pascal.  Admittedly if you were doing this you would pick up a pair of 1070s rather than touch the 1080 with a 10 foot pole.
Specify negative value to enable monitoring (get statistics) but disable management (restart, uploading files), for example, “-mport -3333” enables port 3333 for remote monitoring, but remote management will be blocked.
In my case there are 6 AMD GPU’s and I have disabled all other sensors because they don’t interest me. We only want to have GPU Memory Errors displayed, this will tell you if your GPU is overclocked too much. Now this is the way we will test your GPU’s optimal settings.
Launch genoil.bat, and you will start mining. Every time you start it, there will be a small while where the system will say 0Mh/s as your hashrate. Do not worry. Usually, this means that your DAG file is still being generated. The more GPUs you have, the longer it will take.
Yes @allr1, sounds like something isn’t working. Does your alephzero show any peer coneections (at the bottom right of your window). Any strange messages in your terminal when you click “connect” and/or “mine”? Is the “mine” button slightly darkened? Here’s what my client looks like when things are apparently working:
If you’re building a dedicated mining rig, then you probably want your mining rig to boot up and start mining automatically, without any user intervention. We’ll need to enable auto-login for that to be possible.
But, here is a good trick that keeps me going – When I mine Ethereum I do not sell it immediately I wait till the prices of Ethereum has gone up. By this way, my return of investment is met very early.
Once you start mining, you will also need to keep your Ethereum in a safe location. This is possible in two ways, a local wallet or an online wallet. A local wallet, has better safety as it always remains in your control. However, if you do use a local wallet, then either install it on a computer that’s not your miner or regularly transfer funds elsewhere. The reason for this is that should your computer crash; it could be hard to recover any Ether that is kept on there.
But in order to get a piece of that money, you’ll be competing against all the other Ethereum miners to be the first to solve a hash. Some miners have set up data centers with multiple high-powered systems. In order to be competitive, you’ll need a pretty robust system.
Once you have saved your setting the miner will start mining on your pool. It can take from a couple minutes to up to an hour for your full hash rate to show up on your pool. Now you can go to the Miner Status page and you will see how your miner is performing and if the connection is live, temps, hash rate, etc. If you also go to your Bitcoin Core mining pool you can see your status. You are now mining BTC.
Alternative #2: Awesome Miner can connect to any computer running Claymore’s Dual Ethereum+Decred Miner if the API is enabled. It can be any computer, Windows or Linux, as long as the mining is running already.
Step 15 CPU mining: Type in ethminer and press “enter” and you will start mining with your CPU. Again you will need to create a DAG file the first time you do this which can take some time. But after that is complete your Geth program downloaded in step 1 should start talking to your ethminer program and you should start mining!
   ethdcrminer64.exe -epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal 0xD69af2A796A737A103F12d2f0BCC563a13900E6F.YourWorkerName -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://pasc.suprnova.cc:5279 -dwal YourLogin.YourWorkerName -dpsw x -dcoin pasc -allpools 1

Repeat step 4 in a new command terminal (change directory command). To open a new command terminal, right-click on the previously active terminal icon found in the taskbar and then click on the terminal from the menu.

When you’re satisfied that you’ve found the sweet spot for both clock speeds, it’s time to lower voltages. This is pretty straightforward: drop values 25 mV at a time until you experience instability, then bump it back up to last stable value. You should be able to reduce your power consumption a fair bit this way without impacting performance at all (these are great if you want to measure your electricity usage at the wall).
Ethereum has a completely different blockchain protocol than Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s blockchain is based on proof of work. Ethereum’s blockchain, although currently is based on proof of work, is soon to become based on proof of stake.
