Next, you’ll want to switch to the “develop branch” of cpp-ethereum. To do this, in that same terminal, ‘cd’ into the /cpp-ethereum directory (the one created by the previous git command), and then type:
If you’ve been thinking about getting into the world of mining for Ethereum you’ll want to know exactly how to get started and how to improve the overall efficiency of this process you’ll learn that and more in this quick guide!

I just built a 6 card Rig with Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Windforce OC cards and a MSI Pro Z170A SLI Plus Pro Motherboard. I am getting rock solid stability at 194 Mh/s with GPU temps 57-47-53-53-53-47. My power usage is 850 watts. Runs real cool. I highly recommend the marriage of these parts. Very pleased with the Rigs performance.
did you already try swapping the riser? Also, sata to xyz power adapters are fire hazard. If at all you want to use them, ensure that you power only 1 gpu per SATA cable. RX570 should do 21-22 on stock clocks. 17-18 was too low. did you update the driver to blockchain compute? You need to use those or switch to compute workload in latest adrenalin/crimson relive drivers.
If you’re connected and things are running smoothly, geth should eventually connect to peers and import the blockchain. When it’s close to the current block height (you can check the current block height at http://stats.ethdev.com), you’ll want to start running ethminer.
And with all this heat comes the need for cooling solutions. The computers are going to need fans inside them and on most components plus the room itself will need sufficient cooling so the ambient temperature is not too high and so that system components do not overheat and/or break. All this additional cooling is going to consume a lot more electricity and also create a whole lot of noise.
It doesn’t matter if you’re planning to do mining using Linux, ethOS or Windows. I’ve made sure to cover the steps for each. You will also find some great tips, tricks, optimizations, and solutions to common troubleshooting issues.
As for the current efficient mining rigs which users can put together with GPUs, the Antminer F3 would blow them out of the water. With nearly double the ROI and a lower rate of electricity consumption, it is evident such tools could be of great value to Ethereum miners. Additionally, it also would alleviate some concerns in the gaming industry, as a lot of GPUs are currently being bought up by cryptocurrency miners.
Panda is comprised of a handful of video cards stuffed into a shiny box and sold as a miner. Nothing to do with ASIC’s. To design and tape out ASIC’s costs multiple millions and time to do so vs. ever increasing difficulty of any coin’s life. In other words it’s a race. Possible part of the ethereum troll coin scam would be to make it worthwhile for an insider there to waste the money to develop an ASIC but as of now it is quite clear none of the gang have the wherewithal. I mean they’re still struggling to make a wallet after nearly 1 year 🙁 http://www.etcdevteam.com/blog/devupdate/2017-03-20.html.
Ethereum plans to switch to Proof of Stake in 2018 which will eliminate mining slowly over time. But even if Ethereum is no longer mined you can find a new coin to mine, we recommend checking out whattomine which will keep you in the know for highest ROI coins to mine.
Next, open the Ethereum wallet and generate a new account and contract based wallet. This wallet will contain the payout address at which you’ll receive mining rewards from your pool or directly from the blockchain.
Pretty much any desktop PC running Windows can be relatively easily converted into a mining rig, provided it includes a GPU that supports OpenCL and has at least 3 GB of video memory. The CPU isn’t a factor, as isn’t the PCIe speed. However, 8 GB of RAM and 50 GB of disk space should be available for crunching Ethereum blocks.

Keep in mind the context… From Bitcoin has emerged a great community of tech-savvy do-it-yourselfers and a new caste of digital speculators, then ASICS and super mining farms came, endangering the idea of wholly decentralized and reliable network : the Proof-of-Work algorithms had to become “harder” for ASICs to mine, ie ASIC-resistant, and this was one of the numerous reasons why Ethereum had been praised. Now, difficulty is approaching limit for mining rentability, raising concerns for the mining community. As if we needed a new eldorado, easy to mine for, that would be capable of embodying a new crypto-era, with a fairly certain future… mmh, ‘ looks familiar. Yet, be quick… because there are always some ASICs coming (remember Dash), and ZEC’s price has already fallen so that ETH is still worth mining.
Note that buying used cards from crypto miners is not recommended, due to the wear and tear mining places on cards. If you resell your card after it’s no longer useful for mining, you should mention that it was used for mining, then price it accordingly.
Understanding Ethereum mining requires knowing the structure of Ethereum itself. As with Bitcoin, Ethereum depends on a decentralized group of computers to process and record transactions on the network. In order to add a new block of data to the Ethereum blockchain, computers need to solve a mathematical problem called a hash. If your computer is the one that solves the current hash, you earn 5 Ether. At the time of writing, 1 Ether is worth $299.32 (but as we already mentioned, the price fluctuates a lot). So solving one of those problems earns a miner just shy of $1,500 today — and it might be worth even more tomorrow.
Haha, gotcha! I’m not actually going to tell you how to install geth. That’s because they have pretty good Windows installation instructions on their project wiki, under the heading Building From Source. You’ll want to ignore step #1 (you’ve already got git, and you don’t need mercurial). Also, step #5 is likely to be the hardest and most error prone part. I’d follow this guide for setting your environment variables if you don’t know how. Note that after setting your environment variables, you’ll need to close and reopen any command prompts or PowerShells for those settings to take effect.
I have rewrote it to make it useable for all users and make their mining easier. I have added about 60% code to check for stupid things users may do and much better error handling to ensure your mining will be absolutely flawless.
ASICs allow miners to use hardware made specifically for Bitcoin Core or other SHA-256 algo coins. An ASIC has benefits over CPU, GPU and FPGAs due to being designed for one specific task. They are able to mine BTC at a higher hash rate (speed of processing transactions) than CPUs, GPUs and FPGAs.  Several manufacturers produce their own ASIC chips and miners. For this part of the Bitcoin Core mining guide we will use the current top miner on the market the Bitmain AntMiner S9.

Mining is not easy work for a computer, so the hardware that is required to mine relatively fast can cost thousands of dollars. Most computers which are used soley for mining use multiple graphics cards which cost over $500, and very efficient power supply units. The stress caused by mining on the hardware also makes it much more likely that your units will break or overheat leaving you with useless hardware and lots of potential downtime.
GREEN – this is the target temperature of your GPU. OverdriveNtool will automatically keep your GPU’s at their desired temperature by increasing/decreasing the fan speed, as it’s needed to stay at those temperatures.  The optimal value would be 60C. You can check this during the mining in Claymore, by seeing how much the current fan speed is in percentage. If  the fan’s speed goes over 70% increase the target temperature to 65C, but that can only happen if you have a high room temperature, probably because of no cooling or  a weak air flow.
Hi, You don’t need any kind of extra PSU and the PSU does not matter.. For FTW you need extra Splitter which you can find here – http://www.parallelminer.com/product/18awg-pci-e-6pin-to-dual-8-pin-y-splitter-extension-cable-2x-62pin-cable-6in-each-side/
Once you have saved your setting the miner will start mining on your pool. It can take from a couple minutes to up to an hour for your full hash rate to show up on your pool. Now you can go to the Miner Status page and you will see how your miner is performing and if the connection is live, temps, hash rate, etc. If you also go to your Bitcoin Core mining pool you can see your status. You are now mining BTC.
