Bgold contributors like Regojo and Kuhne think that Bitcoin’s proof-of-work hashing algorithm was essentially broken by the introduction of specialized ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit) mining hardware. In the early years of Bitcoin’s existence, individual users were often also miners; this has since become concentrated into relatively centralized data centers operated by professionals.
Storage Drive: Small and inexpensive is again the name of the game here. You likely don’t want to use a M.2 PCIe graphics card as some boards will disable PCIe slots when a M.2 PCIe SSD is inserted into the board. For that reason we suggest going with something like a low-cost SATA III SSD. The Kingston A400 120GB SATA III SSD at $47.99  or PNY CS1311 120GB SSD at $52.99 are hard to beat. If you don’t care about brand names or how easy it is to RMA if it breaks the DREVO Pro Series 64GB SSD at $39.99 shipped is cheap and will hold an OS.
Something miners started to notice was as the DAG increased in size AMD Radeon 400/500 series cards took a performance hit, whereas the GeForce 10 series and older AMD Radeon 200/300 series cards didn’t. So this may be bad news for those that snapped up Radeon RX 470/480 and Radeon RX 570/580 graphics cards. As of writing, it isn’t clear if this is simply a driver issue or a weakness of the Polaris 10 architecture. Anyway let’s take a look at the results…

Until recently Ethereum, which is believed to be Bitcoin 2.0, specifically designed it’s Ethash as Memory Hardness Algorithm to make ASIC hardware based solution impractical; subsequently, Ethash has made GPU-based mining profitable again. Also, adding to the miner incentive, the Ethereum trading price has enjoyed some significant growth. Ethereum not only shows it’s profitability but also the Ethereum trading liquidity as a popular cryptocurrency for the future.
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 9,654 GH/s and using a ETC – USD exchange rate of 1 ETC = $ 21.49. These figures vary based on the total network hash rate and on the ETC to USD conversion rate. Block reward is fixed at 4 ETC and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.12 per kWh. Network hash rate varies over time, this just an estimation based on current values.
Paul is a crypto-enthusiast, strategy game world champion, mathematician, and educator based in Taiwan. When he’s not drinking coffee to fuel these interests, you can find him on the way to a coffee shop.
However, the hashing required for Proof of Work is a repetitive mathematical calculation. CPUs have fewer arithmetic logic units, circuits that perform arithmetic operations, and thus are relatively slow when it comes to performing large amounts of calculations.
The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 is the latest GPU from AMD that simply dominates mining.  Stock, it can mine Ethereum at 33 MH/s using around 200 watts but with a little tweaking, the hash rate can be as high as 41 MH/s using as little as 135 watts!  This card is simply a monster.  They are flying off the shelves so make sure you grab yours when you can.  You can buy them here.
If the Ethereum Platform is rapidly adopted, the demand for ETH could rise dramatically and at a pace that exceeds the rate with which ETH miners can create new ETH tokens. Under such a scenario, the entire Ethereum Platform could become destabilized, due to the increased cost of running distributed applications. In turn, this could dampen interest in the Ethereum Platform and ETH. Instability in the demand of for ETH may lead to a negative change of the economical parameters of an Ethereum based business which could result in the business being unable to continue to operate economically or to cease operation.
Using ethereum, the app doesn’t require one entity to store and control its data. To accomplish this, ethereum borrows heavily from bitcoin’s protocol and its blockchain design, but tweaks it to support applications beyond money.
Click on the ‘Miner’ tab at the top of the screen. From here you can choose a specific cryptocurrency to mine such as Ether rather than have MinerGate choose for you. Click on ‘Start Mining’ next to ETH. MinerGate will congratulate you on mining “like a man” by doing it manually.

Dear rufio88, I’m experiencing a problem that showed up today, after an unwanted windows update (that I was stopping for about 3 weeks), my mining rig slowed down a 35% in hash rate. I have windows 10. Are you or anyone else you know having the same problem ?
