Before we go changing any values, if you haven’t run your miner at stock settings already for a few minutes to get a decent idea of its baseline performance, now is a good time to do that. Look for output along the lines of “ETH: GPU0 XX.XXX Mh/s” while Claymore’s miner is running. There will be some variance from line to line, but that XX.XXX number is the hash rate for that individual GPU. When you have a good idea of your average hash rate, close the miner—it’s time to start making some changes!
In Ethereum Mining, the difficulty is adjusted dynamically so that the network produces one block in every 12 seconds on an average. Thanks to the synchronization of the system, it is not possible to rewrite history or maintain a fork except the individual attempting to do so has over half of the mining power in the network.
Because we’re living in a cryptocurrency world, we’ve created a list of the best mining GPUs you can buy today, so that you can spend as little time as possible researching and the most time making some cash. We’ve ranked five of the best mining GPUs on the market, with efficiency and price in mind. And thanks to TechRadar’s exclusive price comparison tool, you can rest assured that you’ll always be getting the best price. And as the popularity of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies has led to huge price hikes in the GPU market, you don’t want to spend too much time shopping around.

In the early days of GPU mining, AMD cards were the clear winners, in terms of performance. More recent Nvidia cards (such as the Titan range) match or even exceed the performance of AMD cards. Mining performance for certain coins may be better or worse, depending on the manufacturer.
Another option is to join a pool. These are groups of Ethereum miners who share their computing resources and share their money. However, a word of warning, some of these pools are a little shady. Be very careful about joining a pool, especially if you have to pay any money to join. Some of them are basically just scams. The world of cryptocurrency mining is a little bit like the Wild West during the days of the Gold Rush, and you really need to be cautious.
I can understand you not wanting a ton of scrypt coin mining rigs turned to Ethereum right away, but also consider that a big reason Scrypt took off was it gave former Bitcoin miners a new platform for their hardware after ASIC made GPU mining basically impossible. The same thing could be happening to scrypt soon, with a number of ASIC miners having been announced now.
A mining rig mines cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. In basic terms mining rigs keep track of all transactions on cryptocurrencies to ensure security and accuracy. Every transaction is charge a “gas” fee to pay for the mining which goes to the miner.
Essentially, you’ll be letting the blockchain backed by Ethereum use your computer resources when you aren’t using them to solve mathematical equations and strengthen the blockchain network, and in exchange you will be rewarded with Ethereum currency.
and tap Enter, and you will start mining with your CPU. Again, you will need to create a DAG file, the first time you do this, which can take some time. But after that is complete, your “Geth” program downloaded in step 1 should start talking to your “ethminer” program, and you should start mining!
Figure. Raspberry Pi Mining Rig running at 2 GH/s, the Raspberry Pi has attached to Adafruit 16×2 LCD + Keypad Kit to display mining statistics. The row of ASICMiner Block Erupter USB sticks, each is capable of 300 MH/s. The power consumption for each Block Erupter will be 5W, making the miner very profitable at 2013. But it is useless at 2017.
If you’re building a dedicated mining rig, then you probably want your mining rig to boot up and start mining automatically, without any user intervention. We’ll need to enable auto-login for that to be possible.
Power Supply: Your system is going to be running 24/7 and using close to 1000 Watts of power non-stop,  so you’ll want to drop some coin on a good model. We highly suggest an 80 PLUS Platinum rated power supply that is 1200W or greater. We’ve used the Enermax Platimax 1350W ($239.99 shipped) with good success. If you plan on undervolting the GPU and reducing the power consumption you should be able to get away with a 1,000 Watt power supply. The EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 is solid 80 PLUS platinum model for $213.72 shipped or you can go with a lower cost Corsair RM1000x that is 80 PLUS gold certified for $159.99 shipped. Depending on the model you get and the model of video card that you are running you might need to get some SATA to 8-pin PCIe power adapters to connect all the video cards. If you plan on running two power on one system you might want to pick up a dual power supply connector to power up and shut down both power supplies like normal.
IMPORTANT – be very careful what bios you are going to flash on what GPU, I would recommend you to never have different card types plugged in when you are going to flash, so you don’t flash by accident a wrong bios to a wrong card (even if this is almost impossible, because if you use the AtiFlash properly (as explained in this guide) it should give you a warning that you can’t flash the specific bios, because it’s a different type than your original card)
After that go to “Save As” and change the “Save as type” to “All Files” and then name the script “overclock.bat”. That way you will create a Batch file the same type as Claymores “start.bat” and it will work in very similar way.
Good morning from Q City, so i have a noobynoob question. I am very beginner and now I mining on 3 PC. Two of them mine ethereum using 470×2 and 480×2 – I`m using dwarfpool and Claymore`s Dual miner and everything is okay when i check my wallet raits the balance is growing like beautiful garden with hundreds of mexicans working on it, !!BUT!! on my third PC I am using single msi gtx1080 gaming X to mine some zec using dwarfpool and nheqminer5c it working on 400 sol/s but my balanace is still 0.0000 after 10 hours of mine. So what the problem, or my mistake>>??? Im using wallet creating on HitBTC, is it okay>>>>?? HELP PLZ!!
Anything using large amounts of electricty is bound to generate heat, and this is especially true for hardware typically used for in mining scenarios. Unless you live somewhere where it’s constantly below 15 degrees celcius indoors, the heat generated by this equiptment will make any room uncomfortably hot.
I’ve outlined choosing the GPU above. Currently, the RX480s are one of the most popular mining cards, but if you look around the Ethereum Forums, you’ll be sure to find plenty of more recommendations.
And another factor I read is that ethereum will switch to PoS “soon”. And once they do that switch, an asics device specifically for ethereum would be unusable. I don’t really understand the technical side of PoS and why that’s the case, but let’s just say this is true. How do we know when exactly ethereum will be switching to PoS? I have gotten the feeling that in the mining world, every announcement is always late. almost nobody meets their deadlines. I have read some forum posts of people saying they wanted to switch until the end of 2016, others say it may take another 3-4 years. Why so vague?
Download the OpenCL SDK for your GPU platform. I have AMD GPUs. The SDK I downloaded was the AMD APP SDK v2.9.1. I’m not sure what to download for NVidia cards, but you’ll likely get what you need by googling “download NVidia OpenCL SDK”.
The mining demand has driven prices well above their normal retail price. That said, the card achieves a hashrate similar to the GTX 1079 Ti and 1080 models. And it’s a fraction of the price and lower power consumption, at least compared to the 1080. However, you must keep in mind that this older technology will have a lower resale value than these Nvidia models (once it’s no longer suitable for mining).
Menschliche Arbeit.
The card should have at least 3 gigs of RAM or it won’t be able to properly mine Ethereum. This is due to the growing DAG file (directed acyclic graph) used in the Ethereum Proof of Work hashing process.
Bitcoin mining and Ethereum mining are quite different. Ethereum’s development team is more centralized and can therefore can plan and implement POW changes. The Ethereum development team currently has plans to change Ethereum from proof of work to proof of stake. Changes to the mining algorithm are much harder to implement with Bitcoin and aren’t likely to happen.
Launch genoil.bat, and you will start mining. Every time you start it, there will be a small while where the system will say 0Mh/s as your hashrate. Do not worry. Usually, this means that your DAG file is still being generated. The more GPUs you have, the longer it will take.

You can follow Steps 2-4 to download the official Ethereum Wallet, but you do need to wait for the full Ethereum blockchain to sync.  To skip this and get going much faster, jump down to Step 5 and create a wallet using MyEtherWallet instead.
“You can’t build a factory without approval from the government and banking system. So there are really only a handful of entities in the world that have total authority over who can and can’t manufacture ASIC machines. And all this could potentially get much worse if and when those institution really start feeling the disruption from Bitcoin, which hasn’t begun in earnest yet,” Kuhne said.

Unterm Strich ist Ether Mining also gewinnbringend.

  1.    You can also specify negative values if you don’t want to restart miner due to pool connection issues; for example, “-minspeed -50” will restart miner only if it cannot reach 50Mh/s at good pool connection.
