ASIC vs GPU debate. This debate has been going on since about 2013. -mclock   set target GPU memory clock speed, in MHz. If not specified or zero, miner will not change current clock speed. You can also specify values for every card, for example “-mclock 1200,1250,1200,0”.
Für mich ist bis zum Beweis des Gegenteils ein PoS Algo ein Perpetuum Mobile, welches auf Dauer nicht funktionieren kann. Deswegen bin ich auf Ethereum gespannt, obwohl es noch kaum echte Anwendungen gibt, die eine wirkliche Skalierung erfordern würden…
When choosing a GPU for mining, you want a good balance of low power usage (assuming you pay for electricity) and great hash rates. I’ve listed my recommendations below in the order of what I would buy if I was building a rig today.
RED – this part shows you the real GPU’s core clock rates and its voltages. In other            overclocking tools you will only see the last one, in this case 1340 Mhz. As you noticed there are 8 of them (P0,P1….P7) and that are the GPU’s core states. This means the GPU switches automatically to default between those states, depending on how much you use the GPU. From all those 8 states, we don’t want the GPU to switch between them, we want it to run stable at the fixed clock rates we put it on. To do that we will need to DISABLE all  the GPU’s states except the last one (P7). You can disable every state from P0 till P7 simply by double clicking on its name (just go with  the mouse over “P0” and doubleclick), you will know if you are successful if that state changes colour.
In addition to recording the performance of each card at stock clock rates and after memory overclocking, we also tried to optimize the GPU/GDDR5 frequencies and GPU voltage to achieve the highest hash rate possible at the lowest power consumption. In other words, we shot for the best possible efficiency in a search for each board’s sweet spot.
You can determine the rating for efficiency by dividing the hashrate by the power consumption. Newer cards are usually more efficient. This rating is of prime importance—given that electricity is a fixed, ongoing cost. In other words, the more efficient your card, the more profitable it will be once you’ve received the ROI.
