We are going to be using the very popular Claymore Miner.  Get the current version here from Claymore’s original Bitcointalk thread and download the current version from the Google or Mega download links he provides (don’t use other people’s links).  The current version as of the time of this writing is 9.6 and you’ll want to get the Catalyst and Cuda version (not the Linux version).
The value of Ether currently stands at around $950 and it is a more or less profitable venture for beginners as well as experienced miners. Ethereum also runs on a proof-of-protocol like Bitcoin and the following need to be taken into account when calculating the profitability of mining Ether.
After arriving home, I looked into option number 3 and decided it was worth it. Option number 3 is EthOS, a modified version of Ubuntu for sale on Gpushack. This operating system is designed solely around mining Ethereum and other similar cryptocurrencies and made the process so much easier. It did cost $40, but that money has already been recouped from increased uptime. EthOS comes with all the different mining software already installed along with all the drivers for common GPUs and motherboards. The only configuration that has to be done once you get it installed and up is writing the remote or local config file that tells it which miner to use and all the various settings, the details of which are best left for another post.
Looks awesome right?  A mining rig is made up the same components that go into normal desktop computer.  But there are a few differences.  In a normal desktop computer, you kind of have a good balance between CPU, RAM, GPU, and HD.  With gaming computers, you have higher clocked versions of CPU, loads of RAM, one or two GPUs and SDDs.
This algo is typically used to mine Ethereum. This section is for the STRATUM/Proxy based miner and related pools only. Typically this is qtminer or some other proxy software. Attempting to use rigs from this section with getwork based pools will fail.
In order to mount the GPUs within the crate or case, you’ll need riser PCI cables to extend the PCI-e connection from the motherboard.  Get as many PCI Express 1X to 16X Powered Riser Cables as you can to match up with the number of GPUs you have.   There are many different variants, like this one or this or this.
I am selling a 68 GPU Mining Rig. Have listed it once, but was out of the country so I am listing it again now that I am ready to sell. The rig has been mining since October, warranty on the cards is still good until August. I am moving out of Canada hence the need to sell. The entire farm is composed of 6 rigs each with 12 cards, (68 total). If all the rigs are mining it currently pulls roughly $4500 CAD/month with a $500 CAD power bill. This is without overclocking. None of the GPUs have been overclocked yet. I would be willing to sell each rig separate (1 MOBO 12 GPUs), or all 6 rigs at once, all 6 rigs are built onto 2 metal frame racks that will be included with the sale of 3 or more rigs. Email me with questions and to set up a time to meet. Transaction can be any major crypto, but ethereum is preferred. Parts listed below.
Both of these pools are very easy to use and don’t even require registration. They will allow you to use a miner program that supports the X11 algorithm, then whatever coins are mined (possibly Darkcoin and others) get automatically exchanged for Doge, and paid to your wallet address.
A powerful alternative to the R9 295X2, the Radeon HD 7990 has a hash rate of 36 MH/s. It consumes 300 W at max load. This means you’ll save money on power consumption. You’ll make over $700 USD annually per card!
When you have ether you are not yet home and dry. The value of ether is dependent on its current rate against the dollar. Whether you’ll hold the ETH or convert it to bitcoins or dollars will affect the profit or loss margins you make.
The ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ is another excellent choice for mining, with support for up to 13 GPUs. However, it currently costs about the same as Asus’s mining board, and for the money I’d rather stick with Asus. If you know that you’ll definitely stick to a single PSU and a small handful of GPUs (e.g.: the majority of us), this is a fine choice, especially if you find a deal on it.
1. Based on the stores that you usually buy GPU (if you could add international info will be awesome) do you think it is reasonable to invest in the rigs or should you hodl your finances and wait for a price drop? I know it is speculative kind of a question and things change every second but I am just qurious about your opinion.
this is my 2nd opportunity to set mining at genesis mining. it is very easy to start mining with them, compared with do that by myself. just hope i will have a chance to buy the contract for BTC mining.
The simplest way to install the drivers is to download the Geforce Experience program from the Geforce website. This will automatically download the latest drivers, which for me, has been sufficient for mining.
R9 390(X) can boast a pretty good performance and achieves a hashrate similar to the GTX 1079 Ti and 1080 models. However, the price is far lower than theirs and R9 390(X) also has lower power consumption.
The takeaway here is that hashrate has followed (with some appreciable lag) the ETH price explosion, which began in late January 2016, saw some downturn in late 2016, but then exploded again in Q2 2017.  What an amazing bull run! Up to almost $400 USD from just $10 USD in a few short months.
You might notice that when you first install your Doge wallet, it has to synchronize with the network. What’s happening is that the wallet is catching up on all of the historical Dogecoin transactions, so that it can accurately see if any of the transactions applied to you.
*Why is the price so high? This is what happens when you have a volatile currency in a simulation that does not have changes in said volatility. When a currency can move 20% in one day, it is not uncommon to see price movements like this. I mean, shit, Ethereum grew 25x in one year.
As my title says, I am a complete newbie to the Ethereum Project, but not to the cryptography in general. Although this will be the first time I will consider investing in the mining process. And I just would like to know, what is the best current hardware is out there for mining, and where best to find available in stock to ship.
Step 13: Type in cd cpp and then press tab and then enter. This is taking you into the newly installed Ethereum Mining software folder. And this should look like this after pressing tab C:\Program Files>cd cpp-ethereum and pressing enter gives you C:\Program Files\cpp-ethereum>.

When a currency (Ethereum) is resistant to ASIC mining, the average person can afford to buy a GPU if they don’t already have one. This allows everyone to verify the network instead of a select few with lots of power.
It’s true that Dogecoin mining (and all other crypto-currencies, apart from Primecoin) expends a large amount of energy in effectively useless calculations. They’re not solving anything interesting – they’re difficult simply for the purpose of being difficult, and this process of scarcity is the fundamental basis of all these digital currencies.
With all of that said, the 8GB versions of the cards tend to have faster-clocked memory than most of the 4GB cards, so if the price difference isn’t too large, spring for whatever is the fastest. Most of the cards fall between 1650 Mhz (6600 Mbps effective) to 2000 Mhz (8000 Mbps effective). The slower 1650 Mhz memory GPUs will hash at 21-23 Mh/s, and the fastest 2000 Mhz ones will do 25-28 Mh/s (both can potentially be pushed higher with BIOS mods and good luck).
Bitcoin mining is so called because it resembles the mining of other commodities: it requires exertion and it slowly makes new units available to anybody who wishes to take part. An important difference is that the supply does not depend on the amount of mining. In general changing total miner hashpower does not change how many bitcoins are created over the long term.

  1. Today, that same GPU earns a thousandth of a Bitcoin in 24 hours, generating little value while consuming a substantial amount of power. The shift to ASICs for Bitcoin mining mirrors the shift from CPUs to GPUs, but the market isn’t content to just turn those mining rigs off – not when there’s an alternative currency available for which ASIC miners don’t exist.
Every developer seeking to engage and make use of smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain needs Ether to proceed. It is popularly called the fuel that runs Ethereum. It is a less expensive way of running transactions on the network when compared to buying Ether. You can also decide to sell your Ether after mining.
