– You can combine any amd card in one system or any nvidia card in one system. I don’t recommend using both an amd and nvidia as there are more complications and fixes. So YES you can use say a GTX 760 and a GTX 970 or a 290X and 380.
The network effect is absolutely key to the success of any crypto currency. Without a network to backup the currency it is, in essence, useless. The argument is that we should CPU mine to create a broader network effect of decentralized users. Average folks running nodes etc. That is fine. It has been shown that you can build a network on top of this model. The question is timing. How long will it take to build such a network with enough nodes all over the planet to handle the traffic?

I think the problem is by the time we get ASICs the miner in China have been mining with them for at least 6 months and are ready to move on to the next generation. It is therefore just not worth the cost.

Second, I worked out a way to benchmark using different DAG (directed acyclic graph) file sizes. Chances are the other clients can do this as well, I just didn’t work out how. New to mining. I currently have 6 msi RX580’s stable at 29.6 MH/s on claymore. In the pool I was in I don’t think I’d ever get paid dponing 177 MH/s. On nicehash i can’t figure out how to set it up so I’m only mining ETH and my MH/s is only 22.3. Any help would be appreciated.
Let’s assume for a moment this is a valid product and you are willing toss a chunk of money to get some of the usb’s or one of the boxes. What are you going to mine when ethereum goes pos? There are not many options. Has anyone found 5 or 6 other mineable coins for this specific product (2 or 3 might not be enough for me) with some kind of a business plan that would create value for their coin and draw the mining community?

Zcash has been introduced with care : announcements were made, a public betatest phase was launched, and the biggest exchanges like Poloniex and Kraken supported the “ZEC” as soon as the first coins were emited.

We say the equivalent of 1 guess is equal 1 hash, the difficult is 10. In average, a player needs to guess 5 times before a guess is hitting the correct number. However, if this guessing game is having too many guesses happening in a short time, the correct guess may happen too fast. The guessing game’s maker (the whole network) will automatically adjust the difficulty, adjusting from 10 to 100, to reduce the correct guess happening too fast. This is the essence of using the network difficulty to control how fast a correct guess can happen.
