I’m having the same problem as Majorano. I double checked everything up until this point and I am 95% sure it is all correct. Here is what command prompt is giving me (my .bat file is called Armageddon):
What I recommend is running a command prompt (I assume you’re in Windows) and then navigating to the Ethereum folder and running the bat file. Doing it this way, the output will not disappear and you’ll be able to get the error message which will help in diagnosis.
André Wolke, co-founder of technology education company Validity Labs, is a firm believer in the power of quick experimentation to systematically explore the large product design possibilities opened by the combination of these two technologies. Having personally experimented with Bitcoin mining as a means to generate useful heat and blockchains to optimise banking processes at Credit Suisse; he was left wanting a higher throughput method to systematically explore other design ideas concerning financial services, privacy, information sharing etc.
Imagine for a moment a supercomputer like the NSA uses to break encryptions during their surveillance operations. This computer costs billions of US Dollars and can do computations at a speed of 93 petaflops. Basically, it is super crazy fast and can run computations like the modeling of the human brain, crunch the numbers on global weather patterns to get accurate weather reports and any number of other applications.
When mining cryptocurrencies, it is best to mine in a pool. A pool is a group of miners who combine their hash power together so that they are more likely to earn rewards from mining. You could mine alone, but chances are you would not earn cryptocurrency consistently.
4) Remote reboot and power management. There is a device called an iCoostor. It will monitor your power usage and give you the opportunity to cut power to your rig remotely. This can be important 1) to know your power costs 2) if your rig hangs you can cut power using the iCoostor and then when you restore power (all remotely) you can have the BIOS set to automatically reboot your rig. That combined with the automated startup scripts provided on this site will have you back up and mining in minutes from anywhere you have an internet connection using only your smartphone.
Yes, GTX 1070 or GTX 1070Ti are the best cards that you can buy. They can really mine Ethereum as well as Zcash at a good output. Talking about the power it might use somewhere in between 180W to 200W per GPU.
AMD cards are likely the best choice for the budget-conscious. However, the top-end Nvidia cards outperform them in terms of power efficiency. Carefully weigh your options, and keep in mind your budget and power costs.
The 168 MH/s Ethereum Mining Rig is provided by MineShop. It holds 6 AMD graphic cards, the AMD RX 470. These mining rigs are specially developed and reconfigured for Ethereum mining, making them the most efficient and cheapest for mh and power usage per mh Ethereum miner on MineShop. You can also mine Ethereum through a cloud mining contract with Hashflare or Genesis Mining.
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 109,271 GH/s and using an ETH – USD exchange rate of 1 ETH =306.01. Block reward is fixed at 3  ETH and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 15 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is 0.074 per kWh.
It’s the most expensive Ti product ever, and it generally retails in the $800 range. However, mining demand has driven its price to over $1,000 in some locations. But for those who can stump up the cash, it’s a card that really looks to the future.
With mining rigs, you want the lowest clocked CPU, bare minimum RAM, 5,6 or 7 GPUs and a very basic HD.   Oh, and as you can see from the picture, you don’t want nor can you fit all those GPUs instead of a normal case.  You can use a nice custom made case as you see above or something cheap like a milk crate.

  1. Motherboard and Graphics cards are out of stock in your list so I bought them mostly Used/New Graphics cards on Ebay ($245-$305), (Motherboard $75) on Newegg. The motherboards are overpriced on ebay, $175 – $500, pay attention to delivery times, some don’t deliver for 3-4 weeks!
This is great info. I’ve just built a mining rig, and I’ve written up a post on how I did it. The post focuses on building the case, not software or which components to buy. http://blog.timwheeler.io/building-an-ethereum-mining-rig/.
Ethereum is about to switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake scheme called Casper. Some of the included incentives for this transition are higher scalability, improved protocol economics, environmental friendliness, and easier implementation of sharding protocols. It is currently not yet decided when Ethereum is switching to PoS, but it’s reasonable to expect that it will occur in late 2018. If Ethereum switches to proof of stake, I’m not sure what role miners will have, but it’s possible that Ethereum mining will no longer be possible after that, unless a hybrid Proof of Work/Proof of Stake model is implemented.
Drill holes in your brace so that you can secure it with cable ties (see image). Do not simply rest the brace on the crate! An accidental bump can cause it to fall into the crate, along with ~$1000 worth of GPUs if you do that!
