“Ethereum Mining auf Windows vs Linux”

“Ethereum Mining auf Windows vs Linux”

The network effect is absolutely key to the success of any crypto currency. Without a network to backup the currency it is, in essence, useless. The argument is that we should CPU mine to create a broader network effect of decentralized users. Average folks running nodes etc. That is fine. It has been shown that you can build a network on top of this model. The question is timing. How long will it take to build such a network with enough nodes all over the planet to handle the traffic?
The ethminer software uses the ethpool mining pool for mining, the pool fee is 2% and there is a flat fee of 0.01 Ether per payout charged with minimum payout of 1 Ether, also the pool is beta and there could be some issues. The geth software contains only CPU miner while ethminer supports CPU (up to about 2 times faster than geth CPU mining), OpenCL GPU mining for AMD (also works on Nvidia) and CUDA GPU mining. You can use OpenCL mining on Nvidia GPUs as well, could work on older GPUs that do not work with the CUDA miner. If you have integrated GPU it can also be detected as OpenCL capable and the miner may try to run on it, so you can try to use the –opencl-platform and –opencl-device command line parameters to avoid the problem.
The cryptocurrency market is growing so fast, and one of the fastest growing digital assets (including LiteCoin, Ethereum, etc…) that it has right now is Bitcoin. From the time it began to exhibit signs of potential growth in 2011, many ‘experts’ have been predicting the fall of this world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
You do have some great information on mining with the GTX 1070, thank you. But you don’t mention the 1070 Ti, how come? According to other research I have found that the 1070 Ti is actually more efficient, and faster than the 1070 so overall it can cost less and mine more.
No matter which calculator you use, you’ll need to know a few pieces of information in order to make them effective. First is your hash rate. This is the speed at which your mining software will be able to perform calculations, and you can find it from your mining software provider. You’ll also need to know how much power your mining hardware is using, how much electricity costs in your area and how much you spent on your system.
As most altcoin algorithms are memory heavy, ASICs would not be faster then GPUs as memory speed would bottleneck device as ASICs and GPUs use same memory. Only gain from ASICs would be fact, that they would be more power efficient, but impact on mining would not be as near as close as it was when BTC went from GPUs to ASICs when we say massive increase in performance and massive drop on power usage at same time. And that is biggest reason why there are non and most likely wont be one in near future.
On a blockchain, anyone can set up a node that replicates the necessary data for all nodes to reach an agreement and be compensated by users and app developers. This allows user data to remain private and apps to be decentralized like the Internet was supposed to work.
ethminer communicates with geth on port 8545 (the default RPC port in geth). You can change this by giving the –rpcport option to geth. Ethminer will find get on any port. Note that you need to set the CORS header with –rpccorsdomain localhost. You can also set port on ethminer with -F http://127.0.0.1:3301. Setting the ports is necessary if you want several instances mining on the same computer, although this is somewhat pointless. If you are testing on a private cluster, we recommend you use CPU mining instead.
Basically to be honest I want just a little something I dont want to rob you especially if you like this program I want you to use it and profit from it most so in the end I would get one session daily that is 36/72 seconds based on what you mine.
The key cryptocurrency technology is Blockchain. The Blockchain “locked-in” all the transactional facts into space and time, such that modification will be almost impossible in the open and distributed network. The “space” is the content and “time” is the sequence of contents. Imagine a Block content is the facts about money transfers, the Block’s hash value will provide an unique signature (or digest) to tell if the Block’s content is authentic. If the Block’s content has been tempered in anyway, the hash value will be different so that everyone knows that the content cannot be trusted. Since the Blockchain has been distributed throughout the open network, other untempered copy of the Blockchain can continue to maintain the truth. The tempered Blockchain will simply be ignored.
Setup will now launch. Close down any other open apps and agree to the license agreement. On the next screen (Install Options), select ‘Add MinerGate to the system PATH for current user’ as well as ‘Create MinerGate Desktop Icon’. Click ‘Next’, then ‘Install’.
This is the main difference that exists between GPU and FPGA, both as the best Bitcoin mining rigs: A 600 MH/s hash rate GPU uses about 400-watts of power, while an 826 MH/s hash rate FPGAs consumes just 80-watts of power.
This is going to be a quick guide. I’ve got things to do, people to see, food to digest. You get the point. Still, mining on Windows involved enough technical steps — and a few random guesses along the way — that it’s likely I’ve forgotten something. Comment, and I’ll attempt to fill in the spots I missed.
Register an account on the site, adding products to cart, fill your desired quantity, choose destination country, shipping cost and total price will show. Follow the system, payment options and related info will show. After placing an order and payment made, you will receive an email from us acknowledging you’re your order has been confirmed and your order status will be changed to “awaiting shipment”. Your order status will be changed to “shipped” when tracking number is assigned for your order. You can review the status of your order at any time in your user account.
As the price of Ethereum hovers around $300, you may be wondering to yourself whether or not it’s worthwhile to begin mining. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum is a proof-of-work coin that uses miners to confirm network transactions. The profitability of mining varies from person to person and changes over time – usually becoming less profitable as the coin matures.
However, being a tech enthusiast and a believer in disruptions, I truly believe there’s a bright future for cryptocurrencies. If I’m right, the current rise in Bitcoin and Ethereum is just the start. And one coin might be worth 100x its price today, which might justify mining it today.
Crypto currency mining makes it possible to earn money with the computing power of your PC – if you own a powerful graphics card. Especially Radeon GPUs of the RX 470/480 and RX 570/580 series are well suited for this. The older Radeon R9 290/290X cards work fine as well. You can earn about 150 euros a month in Ethereum with a single Radeon RX 480 at the moment. If you have two, this nets you over 300 euros at current prices. Ethereum’s value has increased rapidly in the last few months. In January 2017, one ETH was worth less than 10 euros, but these days, it has increased to well over 300 euros.
Another option is to specify “-allcoins -1”, in this mode miner will start devfee round immediately after start and therefore will get current epoch for Ethereum, after that it will be able to mine Ethereum fork.
STEP – Remove any overclock and undervolt from Claymore “start.bat” file if you were using those commands before (-cclock, -mclock, -cvddc, -mvddc) , even -tt and any other option. Claymore overclock and undervolt tools are terrible and have various problems:
i got 1 out of the 5 GPUs to mine… attempting to start another ethminer instance specifying next card crashes that specific instance (while the first one keeps hashing away)… so no dice with getting all 5 running on win10
If you’re running a lot of GPUs (4+), additional tweaks might be necessary to ensure that they’re all recognized by the OS. Exact tweaks vary by motherboard, but setting the PCIe speed to Gen1 is usually a good place to start. No need to change anything now, but make a mental note that you may need to come back and play around a bit if all of your GPUs don’t show up in the OS later.
There are also Ethereum Mining Contracts such as by Genesis Mining. These companies provide you with your own dedicated mining rig, and you have to pay for this up front. Again, unless you’re speculating heavily on the pricing, these don’t tend to be worth it.
IMPORTANT – Always work with the original BIOS of your cards, don’t download random BIOS online cause you can’t be sure they are made for your card type, even if they are the same model that does not mean they have the same bios. It’s very important to work with the original card BIOS to reduce the unnecessary risk to the minimum.
As reported earlier this week in Korean news outlet The Bell, the South Korean conglomerate will produce Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) processing chips in its own foundry in a deal with Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC. Ironically, TSMC provides the ASIC chips used in Bitmain’s Antminers, but it’s new partnership with Samsung could well provide the first real competitor to Bitmain’s chip manufacturing ventures.
GREEN – this is the target temperature of your GPU. OverdriveNtool will automatically keep your GPU’s at their desired temperature by increasing/decreasing the fan speed, as it’s needed to stay at those temperatures.  The optimal value would be 60C. You can check this during the mining in Claymore, by seeing how much the current fan speed is in percentage. If  the fan’s speed goes over 70% increase the target temperature to 65C, but that can only happen if you have a high room temperature, probably because of no cooling or  a weak air flow.
I’m FPGA design engineer, and I’m thinking in learning more about Ethereum to make a FPGA implementation, but I’ve read in many sites that Ethereum is ASIC resistant but I couldn’t find any technical explanation.
The project was bootstrapped via an ether presale in August 2014 by fans all around the world. It is developed by the Ethereum Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, with contributions from great minds across the globe.
You need to open up another command prompt, as in step 4. You are going to see two scary looking boxes! Simply right click on your already opened command prompt, in the taskbar at the bottom of the page, and click on the command prompt in the menu that appears.
Ethereum is a hot topic these days after having exhibited signs of intersecting and even outpacing the market cap of one of the most established cryptocurrencies; Bitcoin.  It comfortably sits as of the cryptocurrencies that have gained wide popularity especially in the year 2017. Ahead of it is Bitcoin, which has had one of the most success stories in 2017. This has made mining Ethereum so popular even to those who weren’t familiar with it in the past.
Navigate to your wallet folder, and open up the file “Ethereum-Wallet.exe” on your computer. Wait for Ethereum to sync. Go get some tea or something. (WARNING: The whole Ethereum blockchain has to sync, which is about a 30GB download. So most definitely get some tea while you’re waiting).
OK so this sounds like a problem with your graphics card driver. Are you using the latest driver for your card? If you’re using a standard Windows driver, this could be the cause of your problem. So I suggest you check out the relevant Nvidia or AMD website and get the latest GPU drivers for your machine.
