The full explanation in that post is very good and goes through all the various parameters. To just get straight to mining Ethereum you need to create a new file to run the miner. Extract the zip and create a new file called ClaymoreMine.bat (or whatever you want) and put the following command in it all on one line with YOUR_ETH_ADDRESS and RIG_NICKNAME subbed out. D.h. man müsste sich jeden Monat einen HighEndPC gönnen um mit etwas Glück einen Block im Jahr generieren zu können.

Casper wird wohl wie alles bei Ethereum unnötig kompliziert sein. Mal will eben beweisen, dass man es besser kann als der Vorreiter Peercoin mit seiner simplen Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake Kombination. Das “Nothing at stake” Problem, das Casper lösen soll, ist ein rein theoretisches Problem, das praktisch bisher bei noch keiner Cryptowährung zu Problemen geführt hat.

  1. The network effect is absolutely key to the success of any crypto currency. Without a network to backup the currency it is, in essence, useless. The argument is that we should CPU mine to create a broader network effect of decentralized users. Average folks running nodes etc. That is fine. It has been shown that you can build a network on top of this model. The question is timing. How long will it take to build such a network with enough nodes all over the planet to handle the traffic?
    The Ethereum network is a long string of connections maintained by computers, their impact is undeniable, and the profit gained from mined Ether is surreal. A lot of people are of the opinion that mining will stop with the advent of the consensus algorithm and advise those with itching curiosity to mine now and think later.
