This miner does not use HTTP protocol, it uses Stratum directly. So you should connect it directly to the pool at Stratum port and it will work a bit faster than official miner via proxy because there is no proxy between miner and pool.
Below, we rank our favorite AMD cards for Ethereum mining according to the overall value for the money. Note that the mining performance of the Polaris architecture is common to AMD’s venerable RX range, and it is rapidly degrading with each new epoch.
The cryptocurrency market is growing so fast, and one of the fastest growing digital assets (including LiteCoin, Ethereum, etc…) that it has right now is Bitcoin. From the time it began to exhibit signs of potential growth in 2011, many ‘experts’ have been predicting the fall of this world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
@ciprianpt philakone is full of it. No way any R7-370 gets 19-21MH, you can check with others on this forum, we all know they get reported and efective 15-16MH avg. at the pool and no more. I’ve even checked his “magic settings” out on the exact same brand cards he has and got nothing more than 15.3MH.

Before you start mining, update your graphics driver. Our two Radeon RX 480s are using the Crimson ReLive 17.6.1 driver which can be downloaded directly from AMD. Several sources on the web are claiming that older drivers can reach better hash rates, but we could not substantiate this at all.
The card should have at least 3 gigs of RAM or it won’t be able to properly mine Ethereum. This is due to the growing DAG file (directed acyclic graph) used in the Ethereum Proof of Work hashing process.
I believe the binaries no longer download from there. I got to this link: geth.ethereum.org/downloads from what I assume is their github page: github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum – runamok May ’17 at 17:59

We’ve never done an article on GPU mining on Legit Reviews before, but continued interest in the ethereum project has caused Ether (the name of the cryptocurrency that runs on the ethereum blockchain app) to skyrocket in price by more than 2,800% this year alone. On Sunday, ethereum traded at an all-time high of $250.41, according to data from industry website CoinDesk. With increases and coin prices like that it has spiked the demand for discrete graphics cards in order to do GPU mining. Ethereum discourages the use of custom ASICs and FPGAs when it comes to mining, so this is something you could do if you wanted to on a PC with a powerful discrete graphics card.
The main issue with this is that it’s actually fairly difficult to set up your own independent mining operation unless you already have extensive experience. If you want it to be easier, I’d suggest pooling. The hardware that you can use can be anything from a relatively cheap, older graphics card to a $1,000 modern behemoth! Be sure to check out our list of the most popular pools for Ethereum.
First, head over to Etherscan’s Mining Calculator, which provides up-to-date figures for the current price, block time and network hashrate (as measured in Gigahash per second aka GH/s; denoting billions of calculations per second):

Motherboard:  You’ll need a little luck and possibly some magic or a custom UEFI to find a motherboard that supports six to seven video cards. The Intel Z87 and Z97 chipsets for LGA1150 processors offer a pretty good bang for the buck as they are being cleared out to make room for the newer Intel Z170 and Z270 motherboards for the LGA1151 processors. Our favorite board right for GPU mining is the MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON as it has the ability to run SEVEN GPU’s at a time when using the latest UEFI for $129.99 on Amazon. That board is starting to get hard to find, so alternatives would be the newer ASUS PRIME Z270-A at $139.99 shipped or the MSI Z170A Gaming M5 for $149.99 shipped. People are actually mining with eight video cards on the ASUS PRIME Z270-A motherboard thanks to an M.2 to PCIe 3.0 x4 adapter than can be had for $8.95 shipped. The ASUS Prime Z270-P for $105.99 shipped also works with 8 GPUs if you use two of the M.2 to PCIe 3.0 x4 adapters.
Some of these best Bitcoin mining hardware uses a lot of energy, but it is not only that. They also tend to generate too much heat. As a miner, you will need to spend additional money on looking for air conditioners and other machinery that would be used to cool down your best mining rig.
If you’re connected and things are running smoothly, geth should eventually connect to peers and import the blockchain. When it’s close to the current block height (you can check the current block height at http://stats.ethdev.com), you’ll want to start running ethminer.
“But the key goal that we are trying to achieve with this fork is to build a perpetually ASIC-resistant version of Bitcoin,” said Robert Kuhne, another Bitcoin Gold contributor, in explaining the purpose of the project to Bitcoin Magazine .

A: As long as your system meets the general requirements and has at least one GPU with at least 3GB of RAM, you can mine Ethereum.  Some Gaming laptops do have high end cards, but with the considerable heat generated from mining there could be other impacts to your laptop so it’s best to go with a desktop build.  Virtualized environments that you can rent usually do not have enough powerful dedicated GPU in them, or are simply not profitable if they do.  There are currently no ASICs for Ethereum (as it is designed to be an “ASIC Resistant” Proof Of Work hashing algorithim, so if you see ads for one – RUN.  ASIC’s are still profitable for mining some coins (Bitcoin, Dash and Litecoin), but for home built Mining Rigs, Ethereum and other altcoins are still profitable to mine (whereas Bitcoin is not profitable on a home pc – even with many powerful GPU’s do the Bitcoin ASIC technology available).
