Miners expend electricity hashing that block with the processing power of their GPU(s). A successful hash result produces produce a unique Proof of Work (PoW) proving that the miner worked on that block.
Among all types of digital currencies, Ethereum has been able to command amazing popularity and stands at number two position after Bitcoin. Ethereum’s rise in the domain of technologies that are based on blockchain can be attributed to the relative ease and economy of the mining process in comparison with its counterparts.
I had two previous contracts one for Bitcoin and one for Ether, both had very good returns with regular deposits to my wallet. Just took out a much larger DASH contract for 2 years, deposits of dash started the next day.
Zcash is the first open, permissionless financial system employing zero-knowledge security. Zcash is mined with the Equihash algorithm. Earned ZEC can be autotraded in the dashboard to Bitcoin, Ether and other Cryptocurrencies.
Another popular choice when it comes to Graphic Processing Units for mining Ethereum, the Radeon R9 HD 7990 used to be the biggest name till the R9 295X2 came along. This device is still in use by many users but the biggest drawback it offers is that it comes with a slightly higher price but offers a lower hash-power. Nevertheless, the R9 HD 7990 is still one of the best GPUs to mine Ethereum.
You might notice that when you first install your Doge wallet, it has to synchronize with the network. What’s happening is that the wallet is catching up on all of the historical Dogecoin transactions, so that it can accurately see if any of the transactions applied to you.
Hi T. It’s really hard to make any definite claims about the profitability of mining, as it depends on how Bitcoin price and difficulty will move in the medium term… Try out the calculators with various price / difficulty scenarios which you consider likely. It seems China is clamping down on mining so difficulty might drop for a while until other countries can pick up the slack… but that’s just a guess. It seems to me that the S9 will soon be eclipsed by the DragonMint miner, which claims to be 30% more efficient. However, we’re still waiting for the… Read more »
How to take into account the difficulty growth when calculating the profitability for the next six month ? I started to mine 2 months ago and I was making 5ETH/day. No, only around 3.3 max despite the fact that I have improved my setting.
It depends on the difficulty level. I’m not sure where Ethereum is right now, but a megahash rate of around 25 is what most people were getting with IIRC an RX 470 and they were profitably mining a few months ago. A hash rate of 11 MH/s isn’t amazing, but it’s almost half of an RX 470 (which sells for a ridiculous amount of money). You won’t make any money unless Ethereum goes up in value vs your power costs. But using a build like this helps you keep the power cost and build costs lower than had you decided to get a 470 or 480.
This rare footage has gone on record as the largest glacier calving event ever captured on film, by the 2016 Guiness Book of World Records. On May 28, 2008, Adam LeWinter and Director Jeff Orlowski filmed a historic breakup at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland. The calving event lasted for 75 minutes and the glacier retreated a full mile across a calving face three miles wide. The height of the ice is about 3,000 feet, 300-400 feet above water and the rest below water.
When all three are connected my screen goes all wonky. Nothing really works. When just the two extenders are attached everything works fine. When just the single riser is attached everything works fine. But I can’t get all three to work at once.
Note, when downloading the Claymore Miner Windows may provide a warning, but if you used Claymore’s download link can you ignore this.  He is a well-respected developer who has been building crypto miners for many years.
As i am new to mining i have yet to review my earnings w/ genesis mining and see ,however the support they offer seems to be class leading, thanks for the wonderful support. hope to review my mining experience with the company in the future.
“When building our data centers, we have the highest priority on time,” Streng said. “Time counts so much. We are using the fastest delivery possible. You risk the opportunity to mine for the days you are delayed. If you are deploying 10 days later, you are losing 10 days of mining—that is the cost.”
Before we get on to comparing the best available Ethereum Mining hardware and the best GPUs in the market, let us take a closer look at what GPUs are and what do you need to keep in mind before you buy a GPU to mine Ethereum with.
Hello, first, thank you for the tutorial, miner appears to be functioning. Hoever, it’s not working properly on my machine. I keep getting a Watchdog Error: must restart GPU. Please help me sort this error out. Thanks.

Hi Elmer, unless you are using the six pin connector on a discrete card, it will pull wattage from the PCIe slot — and you will overdraw if you use more than one RX 460. I apologize for not making this clearer.
2) Graphics Card – Pick your GPUs! Some graphics cards cost a fortune but don’t hash much whilst some are more reasonable but use more power. Ultimately its a balance between how powerful you want your rig to be and how much you want to spend – but a word to the wise – make sure you pick an efficient GPU. You can buy second hand GPU’s from reputable providers such as GPU Shack – be careful though when you buy them off a street corner as often they have problems that you won’t see until you get the card home and plugged in.
Mining is the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin’s public ledger of past transactions (and a “mining rig” is a colloquial metaphor for a single computer system that performs the necessary computations for “mining”. This ledger of past transactions is called the block chain as it is a chain of blocks. The blockchain serves to confirm transactions to the rest of the network as having taken place. Bitcoin nodes use the blockchain to distinguish legitimate Bitcoin transactions from attempts to re-spend coins that have already been spent elsewhere.
*Why is the price so high? This is what happens when you have a volatile currency in a simulation that does not have changes in said volatility. When a currency can move 20% in one day, it is not uncommon to see price movements like this. I mean, shit, Ethereum grew 25x in one year.
The power supply is extremely important—don’t skimp on it! A good, PSU will keep your electricity costs to a minimum and more than pay for itself over the long run. Seasonic, EVGA, and Corsair are all generally top brand choices. The 1200W unit that I’ve linked may seem like overkill, but power supplies are most efficient when they’re not running near their rated maximum load. A 6 GPU rig will draw about 750 watts (assuming 6x RX 570 cards, properly optimized), which means a 1200W PSU will have sufficient headroom to perform efficiently.
I have an old PC that doesn’t have PCIe slots but has 4 USB’s. I wonder what about if I use 4 PCI-E PCI Express X16 Extender and run the GPU’s from the USB ports. would it work? like this, I would need a smaller investment, just to start playing with it.

  1. Put very simply, cloud mining means using (generally) shared processing power run from remote data centres. One only needs a home computer for communications, optional local bitcoin wallets and so on.
As more and more miners competed for the limited supply of blocks, individuals found that they were working for months without finding a block and receiving any reward for their mining efforts. This made mining something of a gamble. To address the variance in their income miners started organizing themselves into pools so that they could share rewards more evenly. See Pooled mining and Comparison of mining pools.
Harvesting a gas cloud is very similar to mining an asteroid. Equip the appropriate harvesting module to a ship, locate a gas cloud, approach and target it, and activate the harvesting module. At the end of each module cycle, gas will be deposited into the cargo hold or ore bay. The visual effect of the harvesters is much more subdued than mining lasers, requiring you to zoom the camera very close to the ship to see.
My top choice is currently the Asus B250 Mining Expert board. It’s literally made for mining, with support for up to 19 (!) GPUs and 3 power supplies right out of the box. Even if you don’t intend to initially run more than a few GPUs, the included mining-centric diagnostic features and ability to expand later probably make the price premium over less-robust boards worth it.
