2. You say that “You can also change the memory clock. However, this has a smaller effect”. Is this for real? Everywhere I read about overclocking it has been said that the memory increase increases your hashrate. The core clock also increase it, but this affects the power consumption.
For me, my aim was to find out more about the Ethereum network as I am a software developer and the possibility of programming smart contracts is like playing with a giant box of Lego Mindstorm, with unlimited pieces.
if you are a trader, do not use yobit.net.. they are a complete scam and thief’s that pump and dump. tech support will not respond to anyone unless you pay in coins. they are a problem to the crypto trading industry. only Russian users get help. the Russian users come together and scam all other foreign users. stay away from this sight
The AMD Radeon R9 NANO gets an impressive 27 MH/s, but that’s all you can really get on that model as AMD doesn’t allow you to overclock the HBM memory and if you reduce the power usage at all the hashrate drops as well. This 175W TDP card has good performance, but at $515 it will take a longer time to recoup your money. You can actually buy two Radeon RX 480/580 cards for this price and overclock them to get up to 27 MH/s and reduce the power usage/voltage to get about 40-50W lower power use per card. The AMD Radeon R9 390 gets an impressive 30 MH/s in stock form, but the cards 275W TDP makes is less desirable.
That would be if you are in Europe as you see from -epool and -dpool addresses. Always chose the pool that is closes to you to reduce the ping/latency. It can be found under “Help” section of Nanopool, all different pool addresses are listed there and chose the one on your Continent.
Unfortunately it’s hard to troubleshoot without any error message. Do you ever get problems running graphically intensive applications like games? You could also try downloading a stress testing app for your GPU and seeing how it performs:
Cryptography is an art, not a science. And the state of the art can advance over time. Advances in code cracking, or technical advances such as the development of quantum computers, could present risks to cryptocurrencies and the Ethereum Platform, which could result in the theft or loss of ETH. To the extent possible, Stiftung Ethereum intends to update the protocol underlying the Ethereum Platform to account for any advances in cryptography and to incorporate additional security measures, but it cannot predict the future of cryptography or guarantee that any security updates will be made in a timely or successful manner.
This is pretty much a given. However, I thought I would mention it as it’s always best to start off with a clean installation. If you’re using more than 4 GPUs, then I’d recommend using Windows 10, or you will need to do some tweaks. If you’re going to use Windows 7 or 8, then also install the 6xGPU Mod software. An important fact to remember with fresh installations is that you should disable your computer from ever going to sleep or hibernating.
To get started you will need to obtain a mining wallet to collect your digital currency, mining software, and of course your trusty PC equipped with a worthy “miner” or GPU, or better yet multiple GPUs. NiceHash is a simple software package that will get you up and running, but there are a myriad of mining app choices and wallet types out there to choose from, with lots of guides on the net to educate yourself. We’re going to be focusing on the hardware and mining performance side of things in this piece, however.
Nice article. Same mindset here. It’s surprising how much uneducated investors the crypto space has. You still see people invest in this shady and scammy coins. We do need to look better at the insights of every coin. What team is behind it, is there any management. How strong is the product, is there any product at all? I found this great website: https://www.coincheckup.com Every single coin can be analysed here based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model and much more. See: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Ethereum#analysis For the Ethereum Investment and research analysis.
Whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only then can you hope to find that coin at a “fair” price. Mining has really inflated GPU prices across the board, which is a good indicator that GPU mining is still profitable—if you play your cards right.
To back up your wallet for Ethereum. First show hidden files in your system. If you don’t nkow how to, go to your desktop, press F1, and type in “show hidden.” A window will open with diffent options that can let you option the mentu to show hidden files.
Miners expend electricity hashing that block with the processing power of their GPU(s). A successful hash result produces produce a unique Proof of Work (PoW) proving that the miner worked on that block.

As you can  see in the dual mining configuration, the last part is “-dcri 25”. That means that the  dual coin is set to mine intensively ,  and it shows how much GPU core is assigned for that task. Yes it’s needed for solo mining too, and needs to be set to 6! This is a very important part because it’s DEPENDANT ON THE GPU SERIES. The only noticeable difference between the RX 570 and RX 580 series is their GPU Core. The memory (used for ethereum mining) is almost the same on those cards, so there is basically no difference in  the ethereum hashrate, but the big difference comes in the GPU Core. The RX 580 series can handle around -dcri 25, don’t go above that because it can reduce your ethereum hashrate. For RX 570 series the optimal -dcri is around 19-22. For some cards even lower as 13, this needs to be tested by yourself. The proper way would be to start with -dcri 10. Then using your keyboard press “+” or “-”, that way you can increase or decrease -dcri by 1, as you will see on the claymore miner. By going up you will see the dual coin hash rate going up, repeat  that until you can start to see the ethereum hashrate decrease, then, after you find that spot reduce -dcri by 3, so you are not pushing the GPU to the limit. On the RX 570 series it’s possible to get a higher hashrate on ethereum with dual mining rather than just solo mining. Optimal for RX 570 is around -dcri 19 , optimal for RX 580 series is around -dcri 25. For some cards it’s possible to go even further, but it’s not worth it to stress the GPU too much.
