Not everyone has access to a computer, however, and not everyone has the time, knowledge or patience to start mining Zcash on their own, especially since there is no Graphic User Interface (GUI) Miner available yet. Having spent months on end tweaking GPU bat files for LTC and FTC while setting up ASIC miners for BTC, I decided to jump in on this one to see what the craze was all about!
But I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be profitable? I understand that the Ethash algorithm needs lots of memory and that’S not cheap. But why hasn’t a company just produced them in bulk for a lower price and made it profitable ?!

However, being a tech enthusiast and a believer in disruptions, I truly believe there’s a bright future for cryptocurrencies. If I’m right, the current rise in Bitcoin and Ethereum is just the start. And one coin might be worth 100x its price today, which might justify mining it today.
In the end, it all comes down to your personal preferences. If you have the appetite for the risk and the mining process intrigues you, give it a try. Just make sure you do your research and proceed with caution.
Claymore’s miner doesn’t need DAG files now because the GPU can compute the DAG in under 5 seconds. Create an asic designed to do exactly that, and you might get that down to a handful of clock cycles.

A: As long as your system meets the general requirements and has at least one GPU with at least 3GB of RAM, you can mine Ethereum.  Some Gaming laptops do have high end cards, but with the considerable heat generated from mining there could be other impacts to your laptop so it’s best to go with a desktop build.  Virtualized environments that you can rent usually do not have enough powerful dedicated GPU in them, or are simply not profitable if they do.  There are currently no ASICs for Ethereum (as it is designed to be an “ASIC Resistant” Proof Of Work hashing algorithim, so if you see ads for one – RUN.  ASIC’s are still profitable for mining some coins (Bitcoin, Dash and Litecoin), but for home built Mining Rigs, Ethereum and other altcoins are still profitable to mine (whereas Bitcoin is not profitable on a home pc – even with many powerful GPU’s do the Bitcoin ASIC technology available).
    While the coin is set to launch two weeks from now, the Bgold codebase is not yet fully developed and ready to be deployed. Implementation of the new proof-of-work algorithm and replay protection, as well as the new difficulty re-adjustment scheme, are yet to be finished.
