“Ethereum Mining Macbook Pro”

Like clockwork my payouts have been showing up in my wallet since I started mining with Genesis-mining. I have been with these guys for several years and recommend them to anyone who wants to dip their toes into crypto mining.
The simplest way to install the drivers is to download the Geforce Experience program from the Geforce website. This will automatically download the latest drivers, which for me, has been sufficient for mining.
I know that the USB interface would cause a bottleneck on most kinds of GPU-related operations, but for some reason, mining doesn’t seem to incur this kind of penalty. From what I know, you should be good to go if you know how to set up this kind of arrangement (I have no idea how).
Why do you need yo use the powered risers with the B250 MB? If I need to use powered risers do I need to make sure each bank A/B/C GPU and riser is from same PS? Or all powered risers need to on PS as MB?
Yes in the sense that if difficulty gets too high, the number of Ether coins you get in reward doesn’t offset the cost of electricity and/or cooling.  But usually, when that happens, people tend to stop mining or move to another coin.  Once that happens, difficulty drops down and Ethereum becomes profitable again to mine.
What kind of GPUs would you use? Do you have any examples? I’ve heard of external GPUs for workstation docks. In theory, it should work, since cryptomining generally runs off the GPU and doesn’t use the CPU very much.
Watchdog: Connect Watchdog to the Reset and Power connections on your motherboard, so that the timer can reboot or turn on/off your rig. The two images below show the same thing, the only thing that changes is the coloring of wires.
I’m wondering if you can help me troubleshoot something with Claymore Miner, though. It randomly crashes on me without any error messages (even when I add pause to the end of the start.bat to check). Is this because of some instability in my hardware? I haven’t overclocked anything and this is a fairly recent installation of Windows 10. It could be that the graphics card (GTX 1070) itself was factory overclocked and I might need to underclock it.
If you use the 160 XT, it can work with a mismatched adapter. You can use any wattage adapter, provided it exceeds the wattage consumption of your entire computer while mining. But because your power consumption goes up dramatically when mining, you might want to go with the 160-watt adapter.
I do think the newer USB-style risers are the way to go—they’re longer and easier to work with than the old ribbon-style cables. Here is a 6-pack of USB risers with the newest (and safest) PCIe connectors. It’s always smart to buy an extra or two, as defects are relatively common. If you have older ribbon-type risers laying around, or can get them cheaply, they’ll work just fine.
This is very helpful. I am very new to this and yy plan is to build 6 GPU rig, but for now due to budget, can i run with 3 GPU with a mother board you recommend ? or do you really have to put 6 GPU to run it. Appreciate your response. Thanks
The primary purpose of mining is to set the history of transactions in a way that is computationally impractical to modify by any one entity. By downloading and verifying the blockchain, bitcoin nodes are able to reach consensus about the ordering of events in bitcoin.

Here you will be able to find a See also: Non-specialized hardware comparison. Below are statistics about the Bitcoin Mining performance of ASIC hardware and only includes specialized equipment that
Do you mine Ethereum for fun? Then the numbers might not mean a lot to you. Though chances are you want to rake in some money from your venture, so the numbers matter to you. There are many ETH mining calculators you can use online and they give valid results.
The ‘currency’ is decentralized, which means many individuals who mine the coins actually compare the coin data, and validate its accuracy among one another. Each miner is responsible for running the server that validates the transaction, and acts as a regulator for the currency. Each blockchain that is verified by these miners pay them a fraction of the transaction cost. They are the one who ensure the ledgers are correct.
Ethereum Mining is a computationally in-depth work that requires a lot of time and processing power. A miner gets rewarded for providing solutions to challenging math problems via blockchain technology, just like bitcoin mining. Ethereum is the first ‘world computer’. It is a decentralized network that can be used by anyone and is capable of running applications with no possibility of downtime, censorship or fraud.

Carefully weigh your options, but whichever card you decide on, be prepared to spend a lot of shopping time at the various retailers and resellers. Only if you keep in mind your budget and power costs, you can hope to find that coin at a “fair” price.
Also if you have ever done business with one of the companies on your companies list https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/#/companies . Make sure you review them. Were they reliable, did they pay out, what there anything that you wish you had known beforehand?
I have ETH contract with Genesis for 2 years and one with same Hash rate with a competitor but 1 year contract. Genesis has consistently paid out more than the competitor. Happy with Genesis contract. When I bought from competitor, all Genesis was sold out. I have bought again now that it is available.
However, the cost of mining is far from free in this modern day digital gold rush. Hardware costs and energy consumption represent real financial commitment. Regardless, if you build your own systems or are a PC enthusiast, there’s a good chance you have the spare parts lying around to slap a mining rig together and get cracking.
This guide is to help people with little to no experience build an Ethereum mining rig. I’ve personally built several rigs, and the most frustrating part was figuring out what were the best parts to purchase. My goal for this post is to give you the most up to date, highest quality information regarding the equipment needed to create your first mining rig.
Total network hashrate has been climbing rapidly since Q2 2016. A dip occurred on news of the DAO crisis but hashrate has since recovered. Things were relatively quiet until around Q2 2017 where everything Crypto related absolutely boomed, especially Ethereum as it facilitated a wave of new projects and ICO activity.   This chart from Etherscan tells the story:

  1. The power supply is extremely important—don’t skimp on it! A good, efficient PSU will keep your electricity costs to a minimum and more than pay for itself over the long run. Seasonic, EVGA, and Corsair are all generally top brand choices. The 1200W unit that I’ve linked may seem like overkill, but power supplies are most efficient when they’re not running near their rated maximum load. A 6 GPU rig will draw about 750 watts (assuming 6x RX 570 cards, properly optimized), which means a 1200W PSU will have sufficient headroom to perform efficiently.
So, with our eyes on Ethereum in particular, being the new rising star, that’s exactly what we did here at HotHardware (1 ETH = ~ $277.85 as of this publication). We also learned some handy tips for tweaking your mining rig for maximum hash rate throughput, while keeping your heat and energy consumption at a minimum. We will be sharing these as well has some key hardware benchmark metrics and suggestions to help boost your personal mining potential.
Flickr Hive Mind is a data mining tool for the Flickr database of photography. Flickr Hive Mind is a search engine as well as an experiment in the power of Folksonomies. All thumbnail images come directly from Flickr, none are stored on Flickr Hive Mind. These photos are bound by the copyright and license of their owners, the thumbnail links take to you to the photos (as well as their copyright and license details) within Flickr. Because some other search engines (Google, etc.) index parts of Flickr Hive Mind, you may have been led here from one of them. Welcome to Flickr Hive Mind, almost certainly the best search engine for photography on the web. If you are a Flickr user and use Flickr Stats you may have seen people being led to your photos via Flickr Hive Mind (as a Referrer). Flickr requires that I inform you that Flickr Hive Mind uses the Flickr API, but is neither endorsed nor certified by them. There are literally hundreds of other web tools built around the Flickr API, see Flickr Bits for a bunch of examples. If you are unhappy with your photos’ presence on this site, you can (a) make your photos private for yourself, friends, and family. These settings will be instantly honored by Flickr Hive Mind and all other API-driven applications. (b) Hide your photos globally from text and tag searches on 3rd party sites that use the Flickr API, via your preference settings on Flickr. See the privacy tab at: https://flickr.com/account/. To also remove yourself from searches for specific user names, you will need to set your Flickr profile to be hidden from searches. Flickr has finally created a single page with all these settings, this is much easier to do now and is the preferred method – it will shut down all API driven sites. Google has a bad habit of keeping out-of-date links and thumbnails in their search results, I can try to help you remove them. (c) Finally, you can Banish Yourself From Flickr Hive Mind. To banish yourself from Flickr Hive Mind, you must first authenticate to Flickr, which lets Flickr Hive Mind identify who you are. This is necessary to make sure you are the user in question, and also because people use such crazy characters in their Flickr user names. You can revoke access when finished. Once logged in, come back to this area and there will be a link to banish you. If there are any problems email me at nosflickrhivemind … at … fiveprime … dot … org. (a few people with weird characters in their user names may have had problems)
The next important thing that you need is a Mining Rig Open Frame. I would recommend you to build one yourself as a DIY project. There is nothing much that is needed. You can customize as per your needs.
