Since Ethash (Ethereum Hash function) is essentially GPU memory bounded, overclock the GPU memory is sufficient without increasing the GPU core clock. This should reduce the power draw and the temperature of the GPU, while maintaining a great hashrate!
A: This guide covers using Windows 10 (make sure it’s 64 bit).  There are also various distros of Linux that can be used (not covered here).  But Windows is the easiest to configure and get up and running fast.  There is no Mac version at this time.  
GPU makers didn’t sign up to build machines that print money. But it turns out when you do make machines that can print money, people tend to buy them at a rate faster than you can make them! Right away, whether or not you did it on purpose.
The command prompt will show you your current hashrates and GPU temperatures. You don’t want to run your cards too much above 65C since they can get damaged. Adjusting airflow and cooling can lower the temperature of your cards.
Again, you will need the bare minimum, 4GB will do. I chose to go with 8GB just in case. Also, if you’re going to be doing solo mining, it’s a good idea to have as much as possible at the start as this will make syncing the block chain a lot faster. Of course, once that’s finished, you can remove the excess.
All of the above means that the resale value of the card is absent. With no display ports, gamers won’t be interested in the card. That being said, will you want to sell it if the expected hashrates are real?
Thats the point with any ASIC miner, if you live in a country with high electricity costs, its allways a problem, but look at these small usb miners with 2.5 watts, it will get you 3 ETH at the moment per Month if you mine ETH, so it is not a bad deal. If you mine ETH classic the difficulty level is way lower then from Ethereum, check this live link so see the actual Hashrate from each network.http://fork.ethstats.net/ the classic is aprox. 10 times lower then ETH, but the price is only aprox. 5times lower, so if you min classic you have way more money at the end, i didnt do the math exactly, but i would say with this little USB miner which cost 149 U$ you can mine aprox. 75$ a month with ETC at the moment. Any comments are welcome.

What we are doing here with this article isn’t going to be a tutorial or guide, we’re not endorsing or encouraging the mining, trading, buying, or selling of Ethereum.  We are simply taking a look at the current landscape of GPU mining hashing performance, power draw, and current profitability of taking part in Ethereum mining.
Traditionally, when buying a car, you go to the dealership. Once there, you have to negotiate a price. Then you have to go to the bank and have a guaranteed check or something of that sort drafted. After that you have to go back to the dealership with this guaranteed check.
The screenshot in this section is from a factory-clocked 1650 mhz 4GB RX 470 GPU. Feel free to use the settings pictured as your starting point if you have a 4GB GPU, I haven’t found any cards that aren’t stable at these settings yet; most go a bit lower the voltages.
This is why I have somewhat regularly pointed out (well, at least a few times), that ethash isn’t really memory-hard, it is memory-capacity-hard. And requiring memory-capacity certainly doesn’t make an algorith sufficiently memory hard.
First, I should note that performance can vary significantly depending on the display driver used, the software client used, and the configuration of the graphics card, so please take this as a rough performance guide.
