If you see a warning about starting the Ledger hub here, you can ignore it. You’ll be prompted to enter a password, and then to confirm it (use a strong password that you won’t forget!). The output will be a long string between two curly braces { }. That’s your new wallet address—make a note of it. You can easily copy it by right-clicking anywhere in the command prompt window, selecting “Mark”, highlighting your new address by holding left-click and dragging the mouse over the entire address, and then right-clicking again to copy to your clipboard. From there, you can paste your address anywhere using standard Windows shortcuts (CTRL+V).
You can also specify negative values if you don’t want to restart miner due to pool connection issues; for example, “-minspeed -50” will restart miner only if it cannot reach 50Mh/s at good pool connection.
We’ve never done an article on GPU mining on Legit Reviews before, but continued interest in the ethereum project has caused Ether (the name of the cryptocurrency that runs on the ethereum blockchain app) to skyrocket in price by more than 2,800% this year alone. On Sunday, ethereum traded at an all-time high of $250.41, according to data from industry website CoinDesk. With increases and coin prices like that it has spiked the demand for discrete graphics cards in order to do GPU mining. Ethereum discourages the use of custom ASICs and FPGAs when it comes to mining, so this is something you could do if you wanted to on a PC with a powerful discrete graphics card.
Bitcoin mining and Ethereum mining are quite different. Ethereum’s development team is more centralized and can therefore can plan and implement POW changes. The Ethereum development team currently has plans to change Ethereum from proof of work to proof of stake. Changes to the mining algorithm are much harder to implement with Bitcoin and aren’t likely to happen.
The reality is that the threat of a likely switch to Proof of Stake is whats making it uneconomic for anyone to produce asics, as you know in advance they would have a limited lifetime, and the cost of creating the asic is so high ($millions!) you’d want to know you could have a profitable run for awhile, with the switch to PoS, you wont get that.
If it’s not included in your driver software, you’ll need a utility that monitors overclocking and temperatures. (While overclocking is not intended for more advanced users, it may reduce the lifetime of your GPU, and certain minor alterations may yield significant hash-rate improvements.)
I have been trying to set up a GPU miner for days. I had troubles with my GPU drivers in Ubuntu, so I just did a clean Windows install, only to find that the cpp client seems to be less supported than Ubuntu and OSX?
It can be remembered that around April of 2017, the cards for AMD Rx 4 & 5 series totally sold out leading to a significant rise in price in most markets. miners opted to use this GPU, which was affordably available on the market back then.
Please do not place your order with anyone or anybody claiming to be an official AsicMiner Market representative over email or Skype. It can be a scam and your confirmed order may never be delivered in such cases. AsicMiner Market is neither responsible for nor offers any kind of compensation in such cases
If the Ethereum Platform is rapidly adopted, the demand for ETH could rise dramatically and at a pace that exceeds the rate with which ETH miners can create new ETH tokens. Under such a scenario, the entire Ethereum Platform could become destabilized, due to the increased cost of running distributed applications. In turn, this could dampen interest in the Ethereum Platform and ETH. Instability in the demand of for ETH may lead to a negative change of the economical parameters of an Ethereum based business which could result in the business being unable to continue to operate economically or to cease operation.
4. For all repairs or RMA, within warranty or not, customer must return the defective parts at his/her own expense after opening a support ticket and troubleshooting with Asic Miner Market instructions.
‘C:\Users\Username>’ the username placeholder is the name of your computer and is the usual display format by the command terminal. Locating Geth is the next step; type in ‘cd/’ into the command prompt terminal; this is an instruction to change directory. ‘C:\>’ should be highlighted now, which means you are currently in the C: drive.
Moving away from a single GPU to a mGPU configuration makes the most sense if you are even considering mining.  You already have the necessary cost of operation (motherboard/system power) so adding GPUs to the mix pulls more return than a single GPU.  We could have run many different mixed GPU workloads but we picked a few and ran with it.
I’ve tried creating a batch script with every iteration of the final line, it does nothing. The CMD prompt appears and then closes within a second. I’ve been at this for HOURS. Any help would be awesome….
The project was bootstrapped via an ether presale in August 2014 by fans all around the world. It is developed by the Ethereum Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, with contributions from great minds across the globe.
Please follow all the steps described in this guide by their order! This is a collection of my experiences with fixing various mining problems. I have helped over 500 people with their problems and this guide should have an answer to most or probably all of them ?
Note : If you plan to sell your GPUs after their (profitable ?) use, then you should definitely include the popularity of the GPU in your criteria. For example, 8Go-GPUs are said to attract gamers in the second-hand market.
ASIC miners, which are highly efficient at solving the SHA256 algorithm used to confirm transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain, outperform traditional GPUs – which muscled hobby miners and their existing graphics cards out of the market.
I have grown to really love GPU mining. There is something about it. It is a royal pain in the ass really. They generate tons of heat, use a very measurable and large amount of electricity and take a fair amount of tweaking to get right. While your average Joe might not be able to setup GPU mining it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out and get going either. They are not plug and play like ASICs but they also have market value beyond their mining application. To me, a guitarists, GPU miners are the Tube Amps of the mining world. True, the ASICs are more efficient and cheaper but they don’t have that GPU mining feel. You have to really love GPU mining because, as I said, it can be a royal pain. True, there is a barrier to entry with GPUs. They can be expensive. But they are typically readily available and an individual can get into meaningful GPU mining today for under $200 on their home PC. Having the parts available in retail environments is in stark contrast to the black boxes which are the ASIC distributors. CPU mining is very egalitarian as anyone can do it at the drop of the hat with their PC. This seems fine but the option of kicking up a notch to GPU typed power, especially for the enthusiast, is nice IMHO. If someone wants to invest more into contributing increased transaction processing power it is not as easily salable [with CPUs] as GPUs as CPUs require multiple independent systems to scale while many GPUs can be added to a single system allowing for easier management of fewer overall systems. As a Crypto Evangelist, a true believer if you will, I want the opportunity to provide more to the network than a new user that casually points their PC to a mining pool as a curiosity. While large investors see the profit and ease in ASICs far fewer build large scale GPU operations and those that do are typically not just casual investors looking to capitalize on a trend but enthusiasts willing to do a lot of work along with investing their capital.
The HD 7990 was released in 2013 and is harder to purchase from stores as this series has been superseded by the R9 series released in 2015. Internally, the HD 7990 with 6Gb RAM consists of two AMD HD 7970 GPUs with 3Gb RAM each packaged together.
In my case there are 6 AMD GPU’s and I have disabled all other sensors because they don’t interest me. We only want to have GPU Memory Errors displayed, this will tell you if your GPU is overclocked too much. Now this is the way we will test your GPU’s optimal settings.
The P102-100 might become the next important difficulty bomb. Knowing how well previous mining-oriented cards sold (with more than 300k P104 being sold in February alone), we might expect Ethereum difficulty levels to skyrocket soon. I’ll try to get my hands on those cards and test them as soon as possible.
Hello, I was wondering if you could help me with a bios modification question. I have a rig running mostly rx470 mining editions, are these cards already maxed out when it comes to tweeking their bios? Im asking becuase i have tryed to tweek them in the past and run into issues and a loss in hash rate…

  1. MinerGate is a GUI miner (GUI just means it looks pretty) with its own incorporated multipool, and even though it’s an extremely intuitive tool, MinerGate’s cutting edge smart algorithm is always working in the background to make sure you’re getting the most out of your hardware.
He uses a vending machine as a real life example. You input the code B6 into the vending machine. The vending machine takes this code, and then executes the code. The candy bar labled B6 is then dispensed.
Years ago (spring of 2015) I had mined ETHEREUM (solo) using GETH in UBUNTU 14 and one time the mother board gave me some trouble so I had to change much newer MB ( may be too much newer one). After MB was changed the computer was not posting to C driver any more .Struggled many hours but at last I had to format the HD with about 250 ETH (all gone at present situation)remained inside and reinstalled GETH and in short time I lost all the interest in mining I completely abandoned my miner. At that time ETH was about only $1~2 some times 50 cents so I did not care much and left it alone all this years but I saved the HD in my draw and now it is worth 1/4 of million dollars now. Now I use TESTDISK in UBUNTU 14 and trying to go back to the state before the format to find the ETH. Please help me where I should look for (which folder which file if I can revival them) those accumulated 250 ETH exist. HOW I GET IT BACK.
As my title says, I am a complete newbie to the Ethereum Project, but not to the cryptography in general. Although this will be the first time I will consider investing in the mining process. And I just would like to know, what is the best current hardware is out there for mining, and where best to find available in stock to ship.
