So, with our eyes on Ethereum in particular, being the new rising star, that’s exactly what we did here at HotHardware (1 ETH = ~ $277.85 as of this publication). We also learned some handy tips for tweaking your mining rig for maximum hash rate throughput, while keeping your heat and energy consumption at a minimum. We will be sharing these as well has some key hardware benchmark metrics and suggestions to help boost your personal mining potential.
It’s the most expensive Ti product ever, and it generally retails in the $800 range. However, mining demand has driven its price to over $1,000 in some locations. But for those who can stump up the cash, it’s a card that really looks to the future.
Supply does rise to meet demand over time. However, Ethereum has experienced explosive growth with roughly a $35 billion dollar market cap currently, and this spike in Ethereum’s price has led to a fresh shortage of cards and correspondingly high prices.
Very very happy with the speed and quality of responses from genesis support staff, they’ve been fantastic. The website is easy to navigate and very straightforward. If I had any complaint it would be that there’s not a very detailed easy way to track how your mining is going hour to hour and changing properties of the coins you’re targeting (changes in difficulty, price, coins mined per hour etc.), but this is minor and available elsewhere quite simply. My only complaint isn’t actually with genesis at all but with the company they use for credit card processing that required that I provide a picture of my face and credit card. This was not disclosed as a requirement until after I had paid. Even their staff were helpful and quick to reply but it would have been good to know this in advance and I would have arranged btc payment (which I’ve done for subsequent purchases). Overall very happy though.
Ethereum can be mined by using GPUs as the same cannot be applicable in case of Bitcoin mining. Ethereum has an ASIC resistant algorithm that facilitates use of GPUs and dedicated processors resulting in a cost efficient and user-friendly mining process.
There is also work being done on Ethereum, which may move it from a “proof of work” to a “proof of stake” set-up. If this happens, it will result in an exponential rise in block difficulty that will make blocks virtually impossible to solve.
@AlBoKa Thats more than half of profit. Good thing ether is not as power hungry as other coins. You can downvolt, downclock and still minor decrease on hashing speed. Just find the sweetspot. Happy Mining.
I am very satisfied and have more trust and faith in your mining. I just want to buy more hash, but I am very upset because I have not been able to continue to accept the card. As a result of my study, my card is normal. I’d appreciate it if you could explain why each time you refuse to accept an add-on card.
The risers that we are going to use are probably some of the highest quality in the industry: MintCell 6-Pack PCIe VER 006 PCI-E 16x to 1x Powered Riser Adapter Card w/ 60cm USB 3.0 Extension Cable & MOLEX to SATA Power Cable – GPU Riser Adapter
Thanks for the comment. I believe that Nixon ended convertibility into gold — he did not end the relationship between the US’s gold reserves and the dollar. The dollar is still backed by the tremendous amount of reserves held by the US government, which is why it’s among the most stable in the world.
After looking up the price of hardware and the associated costs of having my own rig, I’ve decided to leave it to the pros. I recommend that everyone read the FAQ so your expectations are better managed. SO FAR SO GOOD!!
Step 15 CPU mining: Type in ethminer and press “enter” and you will start mining with your CPU. Again you will need to create a DAG file the first time you do this which can take some time. But after that is complete your Geth program downloaded in step 1 should start talking to your ethminer program and you should start mining!
One important part of mining is monitoring your power usage since it directly affects your profits. We recommend picking up a WeMo Insight outlet to monitor energy cost. Additionally this will let you turn off the computer remotely via the outlet if an error occurs. The WeMo outlet has a 1800W limit so be sure to get one for each rig you’re building.
Hashing24 is a cloud mining contract provider for individuals who want to get involved in bitcoin mining. The Hashing24 team has been involved in a mining business since 2012. Its initial mining power supplier is one of the industry’s leaders – BitFury.
Step 7: You need to tell your Geth Program to start communicating with the rest of the Ethereum network. You do this by typing in “geth –rpc” – this should look like “C:\>geth –rpc” (on the latest version you should try: geth –rpc –fast –cache=1024) Press enter and the screen should start downloading the blockchain for Ethereum – at this point you are synchronising with the rest of the Ethereum network. This can take a while depending on your internet speed and the current size of the blockchain, anywhere between 20 min and multiple hours. Sometimes your firewall can block this process – just click allow access. Keep this cmd open, you will need this to run in the background in order to be able to mine. Also make sure you start mining only after your blockchain is synchronised, not before. Due to The DAO hard fork you will have to specify if you want to mine on the hard fork chain or on the chain without the hard fork. To mine Ethereum (ETH) use geth –rpc –support-dao-fork in order to mine Ethereum Classic (ETC) use: geth –rpc –oppose-dao-fork
Monero (XMR) is a Cryptonote algorithm based cryptocurrency, it relies on Ring Signatures in order to provide a certain degree of privacy when making a transaction. Monero is a Proof of Work cryptocurrency that can be mined with computational power from a CPU or GPU. There are currently no ASICs for Monero, which means that anyone with a computer can mine it.
Fans. Liquid cooling requires more thought as it is the GPUs that require the cooling and you will have to purchase the correct GPU liquid cooling add-on, or purchase a GPU with the liquid cooling built in.
I think the whole sign up process could be improved and made even easier.Think of your older and not so Tec savy customers. They are the ones with some money. It’s not easy to find your progress, you have to dig for it. It’s not easy to log out you have to dig for that to. I would physically like to see my costumizable personal miner at work if I want to. In a graphic way of course. The contract I bought was not clearly labeled for two years. I’m doing my mining from a phone app and I’m not very good with it but I did get through the process so I give your team a thumbs up.
With Ethereum cloud mining services, there is no need for your mining computer, no need for high electricity bills, no dealing with software and installation trouble and no mining knowledge is required. Buying a cloud mining hash power takes care of all this for you.
Cryptocurrency transactions are verified by a network of nodes, then recorded in a publicly distributed ledger known as a “blockchain”, which authenticates the coins as monetary units of measurement — or money.
2) Graphics Card – Pick your GPUs! Some graphics cards cost a fortune but don’t hash much whilst some are more reasonable but use more power. Ultimately its a balance between how powerful you want your rig to be and how much you want to spend – but a word to the wise – make sure you pick an efficient GPU. You can buy second hand GPU’s from reputable providers such as GPU Shack – be careful though when you buy them off a street corner as often they have problems that you won’t see until you get the card home and plugged in.
The world has gone digital, from the development of smart homes to the development of innovations that promote seamless transactions. Every industry is feeling the impact of technology now more than ever. In every part of the world, the technologically driven goals remain the same: the maximization of profit and the promotion of sustainable development in all spheres of life. It is this yearning to make life as easy as possible that brought about the birth of cryptocurrency.
I bought my new Ethereum miner because I am interested in technology and wanted to start more streams of passive side income. Side income is the quickest answer to retiring early. In the end, I discussed with Mrs. Atypical before purchase that I was 90+% sure that we would at least make our money back on the machine before leaving China. At the current rates, we are projected to make about $1500 profit before my contract is up.
Very easy to setup. Hash rates and returns are quite decent for the money considering you don’t need to worry about buying the hardware, setting it up, or paying for power. Setting up a mining rig is annoying, loud and hot! This is much nicer =)
AS THE bitcoin price continues to fall, sceptics have started to wonder what will happen to the industry underpinning this digital “crypto-currency”. Around the world, hundreds of thousands of specialised computers have been built to create (or “mine”) bitcoins and, in the process, validate transactions and protect the system. How does bitcoin mining work?
Hello, first, thank you for the tutorial, miner appears to be functioning. Hoever, it’s not working properly on my machine. I keep getting a Watchdog Error: must restart GPU. Please help me sort this error out. Thanks.
Now that you have all the information you need to start mining Ethereum, the sky is the limit on what type and how many rigs you have.  Do you want to stick being a beginner or do you want to become a farmer? ?  Building mining rigs are computer nerd’s version of building a car.  It is extremely satisfying and as we know rewarding. Make sure wherever you plan on running the mining rig to have enough air flow.  GPUs running at 100% 24/7 generate a ton of heat!

  1. The Radeon RX 480 is most arguably the most economical in terms of cost and saving electricity. Its power cost per day is significantly lower than the two that I have mentioned at $0.4320. Its hash rate is 25.0 MH/s, meaning its cost per MH/s is $7.96. This gives a return per day of $1.21 and therefore a return per year of $440.91. Radeon RX 480 will cost you $199.
Water – Through Wolkem’s efforts of practicing systematic water harvesting, water conservation, de-silting, by repairing of natural water channels, construction of water wells, water huts and anicuts to canalize water streams to villages, water availability is increased for use by local inhabitants and animals.
