This is pretty much a given. However, I thought I would mention it as it’s always best to start off with a clean installation. It just occurred to me that the reason why ETH plans to switch to proof of stake is to discourage ASIC research and development. It seems likely they never plan to implement PoS, rather to just keep mentioning it.  If this is true, it’s a very peculiar security model.
