Overclocking: Overclocking is the simpler of the two methods. Windows and ethOS support these easily through Wattman and ethos-overclocking respectively. The general rule of thumb is that increasing the mem clock by 10% increases your hashrate by 10%. You can also change the core clock. However, this has a smaller effect. Also, reducing core clock can be beneficial because it can reduce your power use and while your hashrate will be slightly lower, you could be positive overall as you’ll be using less power. The right core/mem balance will depend on your electricity cost and hashrate.
However, if your home computer is powerful enough there’s no reason you can’t get started mining Ethereum today. In this guide, you’ll learn how to use the friendly MinerGate client. This handy program quickly and easily connects you to MinerGate’s mining pool from where you can share some of your machine’s resources, and then subsequently share in the rewards of generating Ether.
It is strange, yes. I thought that too. At some point I abandoned the Claymore and started WinMiner just to see in the command prompt that… its using Claymore 9.7 Beta. It connected and started mining from the WinMiner pools. In a few hours I tried again the newest Claymore and it connected to mine ETH.
Read reviews but be careful. Sometimes unscrupulous brokers will go into review sites and write reviews to boost their own reputations. Reviews can give you a flavor for a broker, but you should always take them with a grain of salt.
2. You say that “You can also change the memory clock. However, this has a smaller effect”. Is this for real? Everywhere I read about overclocking it has been said that the memory increase increases your hashrate. The core clock also increase it, but this affects the power consumption.

IMPORTANT – be very careful what bios you are going to flash on what GPU, I would recommend you to never have different card types plugged in when you are going to flash, so you don’t flash by accident a wrong bios to a wrong card (even if this is almost impossible, because if you use the AtiFlash properly (as explained in this guide) it should give you a warning that you can’t flash the specific bios, because it’s a different type than your original card)
As it currently stands this is the only way more Ether can be generated. So not only does mining validate, secure, and broadcast blocks/transactions, but it also is the central way in which more Ether is created.
SMART PLUG – If the rig is frozen and cannot be accessed with remote desktop, then we need to restart it. I use smart plugs for that. You can monitor your power draw and restart your rigs with it (by switching power off and back on)
Questrade is a non-market marker trading forex and commodities. While other brokers will trade against your positions to generate a profit, we will never do that. So you can rest easy knowing when you trade with us, we’re truly on your side.
A: If you’ve got a suitable GPU with at least 3GB RAM, it’s a quick and painless matter of making some tweaks in Windows, installing the mining app then entering a few settings from your chosen pool’s website. Further details are available in the Getting Started with Mining section.
You’ll also need Ethereum mining software to point your hardware towards your selected pool. And, an Ethereum wallet to receive payouts to. A hardware wallet like the Ledger Nano S would be the best option.
Hi Bhavesh, OK, this seems to be a fairly common error but it’s beyond my capabilities to diagnose precisely from that log. I’ve seen a variety of solutions to this issue proposed on various forums: https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questions/18806/couldnt-connect-to-node/23153#23153 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/issues/2426 https://github.com/ethereum/mist/wiki#unable-to-find-peers I suggest starting with the simple solutions first before trying the more advanced stuff. So if using Windows, start things up in Administrator mode. Then try starting Geth manually with the –nat=none flag. Then try starting from the command line as someone suggested. You can also backup your data directory, rename / move it, and let the wallet resync itself… From there,… Read more »
Take another example. Suppose the for EUR/GBP is 0.8414-0.8415. If you think the price of the euro is going to rise against the pound you would buy euros at the offer price of 0.8415 per euro. Say in this case you buy €10,000 at a cost to you of £8415.The spread for EUR/GBP rises to 0.8532-0.8533 and you decide to sell your euros back into pounds at the bid price of 0.8532. The €10,000 you previously bought is now therefore sold for £8532. Your profit on this transaction is £8532 minus the original cost of buying the euros (£8415) which is £117. Note that your profit is always determined in the second currency of the forex pair.Alternatively, suppose in the first instance you think the price of the euro is going to fall, and you decide to sell €10,000 at the original bid price of 0.8414, for £8414.In this case you are right and the spread for EUR/GBP falls to 0.8312-0.8313. You decide to buy back your €10,000 at the offer price of 0.8313, a cost of £8313. The cost of buying back the euros is £111 less than you originally sold the euros for, so this is your profit on the transaction. Again your profit is determined in the second currency of the forex pair.
Ethereum’s Ethash algorithm is one of many algorithms designed for optimal mining on GPUs. Generally speaking, a GPU is good for mining all GPU-mineable cryptocurrency (including Ethereum Classic, Monero, Zcash, and Vertcoin). This situation gives GPU miners enviable flexibility, in order to be able to switch between over 40 coins that are based on their current profitability.
 – A standard keyboard, mouse and monitor are needed.  If managing your rig remotely (not covered here in this beginner guide) you will want to get a headless hdmi dummy plug to plug into your rig so it boots into Windows properly for remote access.
The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)[62][63] is the runtime environment for smart contracts in Ethereum. It is a 256-bit register stack, designed to run the same code exactly as intended. It is the fundamental consensus mechanism for Ethereum. The formal definition of the EVM is specified in the Ethereum Yellow Paper.[53][64] It is sandboxed and also completely isolated from the network, filesystem or other processes of the host computer system. Every Ethereum node in the network runs an EVM implementation and executes the same instructions. In February 1, 2018, there were 27,500 nodes in the main Ethereum network.[65] Ethereum Virtual Machines have been implemented in C++, Go, Haskell, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, Rust, and WebAssembly (currently under development).[66][67] The Ethereum-flavoured WebAssembly (dubbed “e-WASM”) is expected to become a major component of the “Web 3.0”, a World Wide Web where users interact with smart contracts through a browser.
Ethereum Mining can be done in the comfort of your home. It requires script writing and some knowledge of the command prompt. It is quite easy and exciting once the process is broken down into manageable steps.
Custom BIOS. Custom BIOS’ are trickier. While it’s easy to use a tool such as AtiFlash to flash your GPU, bare in mind that it is risky. You will also need to find a BIOS that is suitable for your GPU unless you’re proficient at tweaking it yourself with a tool like PolarisBiosEditor. However, this can have the largest gain. For example, for the RX480 a custom BIOS can raise its hash rate to 30Mhs+ which is a considerable 30% improvement!
Buterin and Joseph Poon (a co-author of Bitcoin’s lightning network whitepaper) announced in 2017 their plan to launch a scaling solution called Plasma which creates “child” blockchains to the “main” parent blockchain.[117] The plasma project has skeptics; specifically, Vlad Zamfir (Ethereum’s lead researcher on proof of stake) has publicly questioned the plasma project’s viability.[117]
The Ethereum Platform rests on open-source software, and there is a risk that the Ethereum Stiftung or the Ethereum Team, or other third parties not directly affiliated with the Stiftung Ethereum, may introduce weaknesses or bugs into the core infrastructural elements of the Ethereum Platform causing the system to lose ETH stored in one or more User accounts or other accounts or lose sums of other valued tokens issued on the Ethereum Platform.

Start trading forex with a demo account before you invest real capital. That way you can get a feel for the process and decide if trading forex is for you. When you’re consistently making good trades on demo, then you can go live with a real forex account.
We will need to repeat the process for each GPU individually, it’s very important to test it that way so if you end up getting a crash or reset, you will know exactly at what part that happened so  that you can reverse the crashing settings.
Ether is an absolute essential, as it serves as fuel for the smooth running of the Ethereum platform. An interesting way to look at Ether is an incentive used to motivate developers to create top notch applications.
The 2.5-slot width allows 40% more heat sink surface area, giving you a dramatically cooler and quieter performance. The FanConnect II features 4-pin hybrid-control headers that you can connect to PWM and DC system fans for top notch system cooling.
Ethereum aims to abstract away bitcoin’s design, however, so that developers can create applications or agreements that have additional steps, new rules of ownership, alternative transaction formats or different ways to transfer state.
We only recommend two Ethereum mining pools at this time, Nanopool and Ethermine. For our specific needs Nanopool edges out Ethermine. Your needs may not be the same as ours and we absolutely recommend you consider and try each pool for yourself.
Dos personas(o mas) con el exactamente igual equipo de mineria nunca van a obetener los mismos resultados, siempre van a tener diferente hash power, diferente consumo de electricidad, diferentes costos de energia etc etc etc.
Please follow all the steps described in this guide by their order! This is a collection of my experiences with fixing various mining problems. I have helped over 500 people with their problems and this guide should have an answer to most or probably all of them ?
