Go experimental GPU branch. It’s experimental so you need to build go from source to get it. This version is focused on hobbyists and developers. To install it, clone geth from source and then switch to the GPU Miner branch.
The Ethereum Platform rests on open-source software, and there is a risk that the Ethereum Stiftung or the Ethereum Team, or other third parties not directly affiliated with the Stiftung Ethereum, may introduce weaknesses or bugs into the core infrastructural elements of the Ethereum Platform causing the system to lose ETH stored in one or more User accounts or other accounts or lose sums of other valued tokens issued on the Ethereum Platform.
The process of mining itself requires script writing and knowledge of the command prompt. Your computer will need a GPU (graphics processing unit) with at least 2GB of RAM — a standard CPU does not have enough processing power to make it worthwhile.

The name of the chipset produced by Nvidia or AMD for each card remains the same (such as RX 480). You’ll notice that various models are available from different Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). For example, you might encounter the MSI Gaming Radeon RX 480.
I’ve outlined choosing the GPU above. Currently, the RX480s are one of the most popular mining cards, but if you look around the Ethereum Forums, you’ll be sure to find plenty of more recommendations.
Save your Private Key provided.  A good practice is to open a notepad and enter in your info – password, private key, and your Ethereum address (which you’ll get shortly), and save that text file along with your Keystore File, in an Encrpted file (using WinRar or similar program) and then store a copy of that on a USB drive or cloud drive and delete the individual files (storing only the encrypted file digitally).
I’d heavily recommend joining a pool. If you want to see ETH in your wallet quicker. They have a minimum amount of a payout cap that you have to reach before they actually payout to your wallet. Be mindful of that.
ethOS is a stripped down version of Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 to be specific) that has the simple aim of mining Ethereum (and a few other cryptocurrencies). Not only is it incredibly easy to set-up, but it’s also easy to use and maintain. I’ve also noticed that it runs more optimally than Windows. It does have the downsides that you won’t be able to use your rig for much else, but most people don’t tend to anyway. Furthermore, remote access is only through SSH so you should be comfortable with not having a GUI. However, for $39, it’s a no-brainer in my opinion.
Trade BTC for ETH: multiple third-party companies are working to make the exchanging of ether and bitcoins as easy and seamless as possible. If so desired one could trade bitcoins for ether with the purpose of executing contracts and trade it back immediately in order to keep their value pegged and secured by the bitcoin network. The latest version of the wallet includes an automatic conversion between ether and bitcoin.

Hi Charles, Sounds like a cool setup, hope you’re having fun with it and making some good money. I think your auto-correct is changing Claymore to Clayton. Anyway, as of Claymore v8.0, you can choose between mining Ethereum alone, Ethereum & Decred, Ethereum & Siacoin, Ethereum & Lbry. Based on something said by an old-time Bitcoiner in a video (I’m no expert on altcoins), I’d say Decred is the best choice. I haven’t heard anything about the other options and don’t know what they do exactly, except for some vague notions about “decentralized storage.” I’m not an expert on Ethereum… Read more »
When you use a remote mining provider, they usually just rent or sell you a portion of their mining setup’s hashing power. However, if you are controlling your own mining rig, you know that you control the full capabilities of your machine and therefore are getting the full hashing power available to your hardware. One thing to note is that while the cost of graphic cards continues to rise due to cryptocurrency mining, you should do a cost benefit analysis on how much hash rate you’ll get for your investment.
Currencies are traded against one another in pairs. Each currency pair thus constitutes an individual trading product and is traditionally noted XXXYYY or XXX/YYY, where XXX and YYY are the ISO 4217 international three-letter code of the currencies involved. The first currency (XXX) is the base currency that is quoted relative to the second currency (YYY), called the counter currency (or quote currency). For instance, the quotation EURUSD (EUR/USD) 1.5465 is the price of the Euro expressed in US dollars, meaning 1 euro = 1.5465 dollars. The market convention is to quote most exchange rates against the USD with the US dollar as the base currency (e.g. USDJPY, USDCAD, USDCHF). The exceptions are the British pound (GBP), Australian dollar (AUD), the New Zealand dollar (NZD) and the euro (EUR) where the USD is the counter currency (e.g. GBPUSD, AUDUSD, NZDUSD, EURUSD).
With this style of trading we may have stop losses that are 300 or 500 pips from our entry…but over the course of a couple months we expect to make 1500 pips (for example). Even trading one micro lot (approximately $0.10 per pip of movement), with a 300 pip stop loss we are risking $30 if we lose. In order to risk $30 on a trade we need an account balance of at least $3000, if risking 1% per trade (because 1% of $3000 is $30). If you are willing to risk 2% per trade, then $1500 in capital needed (because 2% of $1500 is $30).
that’s a stressful article. You just want rich to get richer and people with $300 deposit to stay at that point. Why not encourge people to do so even if they make $10 a day im fine with it thats $300 a month not considering loses. im just sayin. Thanks
Some miners have reported that their hash rate through Nanopool is significantly less (sometimes up to a 10% difference) than mining in other pools or on their own. Overall, though, the community seems to trust and like this pool.
To begin mining, type in “ethminer —G’ and then enter. This is going to start he mining process after the DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph), which is a huge file that’s stored on your RAM to make it resistant to ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuits).

Now make 6 “New” profiles and name them gpu1, gpu2… gpu6 and each profile will represent the GPU it’s attached to, so for example, we are using the “-p1” GPU to the profile “gpu1” and so on. You need to make so many profiles as you have mining GPU’s (all GPU’s except the Integrated one)
AWS does it’s customers a big favor by implementing limits to the number of instances that can be deployed per Region and by Instance Type. This is to prevent new users from accidentally provisioning a huge number of expensive Instances and digging themselves into an accidental financial hole.
First, you must calculate how much you’re hashing power will be. If you already have some GPUs that you’re planning to use, then you can use Google to find out its hash rate. Alternatively, you can use a site such as CryptoCompare to determine what the best value for money GPU is. However, I’ve not yet found a database with a full list so you may wish to start your own excel file and compare the hashrate you get per dollar spent. GPU prices can also vary significantly, country to country, so make sure you take this into consideration as well.
The world then decided to have fixed exchange rates that resulted in the U.S. dollar being the primary reserve currency and that it would be the only currency backed by gold, this is known as the ‘Bretton Woods System’ and it happened in 1944 (I know you super excited to know that). In 1971 the U.S. declared that it would no longer exchange gold for U.S. dollars that were held in foreign reserves, this marked the end of the Bretton Woods System.
Click on the ‘View’ menu to deselect other cryptocurrencies, until only ETH remains. MinerGate will notify you that it’s loading a DAG (Dagger Hashimoto) file. This is around 1GB in size and represents the proof of work algorithms necessary to mine Ethereum data blocks. If you want to understand this further, see the Ethereum Github page for more information.
– Using boosters to increase the number of obtained finneys. There are two types of boosters: hourly and daily, which will help you to speed up the process and use every feature of the ethereum miner ;
The Ethash proof of work algorithm is memory hard, you’ll need at least 1+GB of RAM on each GPU. I say 1+ because the DAG, which is the set of data that’s being pushed in and out of the GPU to make parallelisation costly, will start at 1GB and will continue growing indefinitely. 2GB should be a good approximation of what’s needed to continue mining throughout the year.
